  • My first Harry Potter memories were from fourth grade. The first Deathly Hallows movie came out in my senior year of college. Cheers to the Harry Potter generation!

  • i was 7 when i seen the posters

  • I was 10 when this came out. Good times!

  • this still give me the goosebumps :)))

  • I was 8 when this came out in theaters!

  • Can you imagine how people must have freaked out when this trailer first started showing in theaters, before stuff was in the new on the web before it actually happened. Just out of nowhere, this musicbox starts playing, people going, "Wha...?" and then you see a boy with glasses, "There's no such thing as magic!"BAM

  • Love how the WB logo disintegrates into the owls. Really cool effect. Also, I'm thinking Dumbledore's narration/reading of the letter was a deleted scene.

  • wtf the description is fake his parents werent killed in a car crash and not a bus or a train killed them, lord voldemort killed harry's parents!!!

  • Remember seeing this the first time when I was 4 or 5... was just so magical. Been so obsessed ever since!

  • I was 2 when this came out!!

  • I was 10 when this came out. Good times.

  • this trailer is quite dumb and dry. but this is where it all began after the books. the trailer of the first movie - but not just any movie; one of the most epic movie series of all time.

  • Why hello there, childhood. I've missed you so much. <3

  • I was 13 when I saw this trailer in theaters. I about jumped out of my seat I was so freakin excited and I was pulling on my mom's sleeve going "It's Harry Potter, mom! Harry!"

I was 10 when I read the first book for the first time and since then, I love to read and I want to be a writer myself. THANK YOU, HARRY!! <3

  • how is this a teaser of harry potter?

  • i was 4 years old when this came out, good memories

  • @sydneyray064 I was 11 :-) Amazing timing

  • I still can't take it that its the end of harry potter

  • i still secretly hope she'll write a book on the Marauders one day <3

  • Tom Riddle, Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Barty Crouch Jr, and Professor Qurrel disliked this. :3

  • what is the name of the music of this trailer

  • Being in the Cast of Harry Potter is like getting a visit from the Puberty Fairy.

  • I remember in my grade school we had a Harry Potter club. Brings back memories.

  • Remember 2001?= Memories never forgotten

  • that owl graphic at the start is awful

  • I almost cried... it's so hard to believe the series ended. I started reading HP when I was 8 years old... it's been a part of my life ever since...

  • Aww Daniel was so cute!

  • @SaraNoHuh Oh he was a sweetheart. He still is <3

  • i just read the book. it's so nice. and the book is better than the movie

  • i read that its called the sorcerers stone in usa and india, but everywhere else its called philosophers stone

  • I remember seeing this trailer, it was so awesome, I didn't knew about the books back then (I just heard that some parents hated because they said it teaches kids dark arts and all that satanic stuff, I LOL'D at that time and I LOL'D now, what idiots :P).

I'm sad and happy because it ended, it was a fun ride. :D

  • thumbs up if you are here after watching the final part

  • isn't it called the philosopher's stone ??

  • I have an ongoing sense of depression now that its all over..... it happened after the books ended but at that point at least I still had to movies to give me my Potter fix....

  • Nostalgic.. (dealing with post-potter depressions ---- by watching all possible YT videos) haha.

  • the start of all...i was just 9... good memories!

  • @JUstBeAQeEn lol I was 8 when it all began

  • This trailer introduced me to Harry Potter. I was instantly captivated the first time I saw it at the theater all those years ago.

  • AAF «3

  • I remember when HP used to be like this .. It was my whole chieldhood ..

It started to lose it's charm around The Order of the Phoenix; I don't really know why ...

  • @Lightn0x If it started to lose its charm around the fifth one then the evidence would point to you not liking David Yates, the director of the movies from the fifth onwards. I'd have to agree with you too.

  • lol im watching this right after deathly hallows part 2 came out

  • Omg.They we`re so cute and lovely 10 years ago..<3

  • I can't believe it's all over, There's nothing to live for anymore :'(

  • time really flies..

  • @Miley4me1 At least we have our memories of Harry Potter....

  • 1:08, I love Hermione's face

  • wow , i can't believe it's ended ): i watched the last one on the 13th and i almost cried !!!!!

  • it's the philosopher's stone!! FFS stupid americans. JK Rowling named it the philosopher's stone, everywhere else the movie and books are called, harry potter and the philosopher's stone. i just don't understand why americans felt the need to change the name for themselves..

  • Thumbs up if you watched all the HP movies before watching the finale! =)

  • i. have. no. words. speechless.

  • The 2 dislikes are Twihards that have wandered far, far away from their home turf ... and into the land of awesome.

  • I WANT TO CRY

  • 2 noobs

  • I watched this movie two days ago. Today I watched Chamber of Secrets and will watch Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire.

Tomorrow I will watch the last three films, including Deathly Hallows Part 1. And on Thursday, the final movie.... :)

  • I DONT WANT IT TO END!!!!! i grew up with HP ill be crying so many times in the last film with all the deaths and happy ending and then cry again knowing im never gunna see it in the cinemas again :(

  • How this movie turned out to be at the end.... no one can top this.

  • @orahrah What, the whole Quirrel/Voldemort twist?

  • I loved this this movie when i was like 7! hahaha

  • The Magic Begins November 16th

    It All Ends July 15th

  • Vernon: There's no such thing as magic!

Harry: Yeah, well there's no such thing as "big-boned" either!

  • "almost as good as the twlight series", not its not, its infinitely better. LOL

  • *-----* ai meu Deus.. chorei.

  • *Philosopher's Stone

  • omg look how tiny harry is compared to now :O !!! x

  • HOLY F*CK! I remember seeing this with my dad and my cousins on pay-per-view @ a Marriott hotel in San Diego, CA during spring break 2002!!! I was 8 @that time!!!! time does fly!!!! One of my fav. movies.

  • dude ive been waiting for harrpy potter one forever i cant believe there making this movie!

  • I like Harry Potter. It's almost as good as the Twilight series

  • I just watched the trailer for Deathly Hallows part two.Seeing this is making me want to cry so bad. Everyone's so grown up...

  • @amandapanda15012 Yeah and the trailer for Harry Potter 7 is so much more dark and depressing and most of all, agressive!.. HP 1 was like "welcome to your first flying lesson" and HP7 is like "Voldemort I"m gonna kill him!!" HP 1 2 and 3 made you feel good on the inside.. where as 5 6 and 7 just make you feel sad that everyone is dying!

  • 1:27 was that a TIE fighter?

  • 2 squibs

  • As muggle of a fan as I am, I can't believe it's been almost TEN YEARS since this movie was released!!

  • the best of series

  • i like harry potter .. ^_^

  • Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter and Christopher Nolan's Batman films with Christian Bale have to be the best pieces in film. ever.

  • @GalacticWarrior728 you need to learn to stfu on these videos. nobody cares if you wanna blow xtrian bale and harry potter at the same time.

  • I cant believe i still didnt receive the letter from hogwarts

  • 1 dislike = Tom Riddle must have discovered YouTube.

  • @neoanakinpotter Apparently Bellatrix Lestrange did too.

  • Warner Bros. released this teaser trailer on March 8th, 2001. Hard to believe in 2 weeks it'll have been 10 years ago!

I'll always remember the amazement I felt upon seeing this first "footage" of Harry Potter in the teaser. Even though only 4 of the books were around @ that point...seeing what the first movie was going to look like was so exciting!

  • Dear Mr. Potter you have been accepted to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

the words that started it all

  • Compared to Harry Potter, today's movies are shit, i mean, seriously,

    Hannah Montana Movie

Justin Bieber - Never say Never

    And other shit movies

The Movies from 1995 - 2005 were the best. I want this time back, wish i could live it again as a child :(

  • @nikstylakiller hey!! the nightmare before christmas!

  • pause at 0:48

  • As I myself am writing a high fantasy adventure I love these movies. Though I'm not writing about wizard school or anything b/c well frankly I think harry potter series ate that up :)

My story will have magic adventure and all that stuff in it, but it's much more like a Robin Hood meets Lord of the Rings meets Legend of the Seeker. Of course I'd not rule out collaborating with Ms. Rowling and etching a cross-over, though that'd be years ahead of us. I must first finish my novel :)

  • @mattman2900 Something like The Assassin's Apprentice Trilogy by Robin Hobb?

If you are a fantasy writer(I do know that high fantasy isn't the same as the other fantasy sub-genres but it's all fantasy after all if i'm not mistaken), have you ever read A Song of Ice and Fire series written by a master fantasy and sci-fi writer George RR Martin? It's the best that the genre has to offer(even better than LOTR).Could you tell me your opinion about it if you had?

  • Seems like such a long time ago, tho, it be nice for a theater to do a Harry Potter Week, and show all 7 leading up to the final 8th film (#7 Part II). A proposed schedule could go like this:

Friday - Philosopher's Stone Saturday - Chamber of Secrets Sunday- Prizoner of Azkaban Monday - Goblet of Fire

Tuesday - Order of the Phoenix Wednesday - Half Blood Prince

Thursday (9pm)- Deathly Hallows Part 1 followed by Part 2 at 12:01am Friday

  • @mattman2900 ure right

  • Wow I grew up with harry potter 2001 was when I was 6 and I love it since then !

  • new harry potter tomorrow :D

  • I still remember the very first time I saw this trailer in theaters. I remember thinking that the music was amazing, but I also didn't have a desire to see it for some weird reason.

  • I remember the first time I saw this teaser my first thought was "Holy Hell what did they do to it?! I was like, that's supposed to be Hermione?? Why are Harry's eyes blue and why is his hair so neat?? Oh God they killed it!" But then I watched it a couple more times and watched the full trailer every day that entire summer and and I was jumping at the heels to see it. I loved it and now, almost ten years later, think they couldn't have found more perfect kids to play the main three.

  • *Philosopher's Stone.

  • oh god... i remember this movie so well..

  • i remeber i was about 5 when this came out. at first i didnt show any interest till my mum dagged me to watch the dvd as the chamber of secrects was coming out soon. when i wastched the philophers stone i was like WOW! and then it just kept on getting better and better. to this day my fav movie had and probaly always will be the chamber of secrects. i remember buying a gryfindor dress as a kid. and my mum thought the slytherin had nicer colours i remember my expression when she wouldnt buy it!

  • @MegaHarryPotter123 I was two years older than you, which means that you must be fifteen now. I think you should have read the books before seeing the movie. Movies spoil imagination.

  • why does everyone call it the sorcerers stone -.-

  • @MadOnMusic1 i feel the exact same way. the book wasn't called the sorcers stone so why should they change it for american audiences??

  • @MadOnMusic1

its called that in america i think for some weird reason :s

  • I remember watching this teaser trailer back in '01 over and over because it was so awesome and better than the official trailer. Today, watching it, i still feel the hairs standing on the back of my neck at certain awesome parts and it's so cute that daniel looked like such a beatle back then.

  • aww i love 1:22 makes me laugh :O haha

  • After I first saw this movie (About 9 years ago), I developed a crush on Daniel Radcliff! XD He was pretty awesome though, from movie 2 to 4 :D

  • 2001 Trailer: The Magic Begins

    2010 Trailer: Complete The Journey

    It's soooo saaaaaad!!!

  • epic like the hole series

  • It's very hard to believe this came out almost 10 years ago. I mean...wow... o_o

  • harrys parents didnt die in a car cracs lord volamort killed them!

  • J.K rowling ftw

  • This film will always truly be the best! the camera work is what made this film special, now it's all CGI in every shot and green screen while this used all the old 90's effects. ahh the childhood memories.

  • i miss watching this.. and so does reading the books.. it was such a nice experience! :)

  • Oh got the memories! I remember this came out on my 10th Birthday! I saw it in goldclass and after that it was a tradition for me to see the films and buy the books the day they came out!

Oh the nostalgia of the music and the characters!

  • one of things that made these movies so absolutely nostalgic and enchanting was the music...whenever i hear the trademark harry potter opening music, a wash of nostalgia runs over me

  • @michelleinhk That's John Williams for you. Whenever I hear anything of his, whether it's HP, Star Wars, Jaws, etc., it's just so epic.

  • @prettyinpink622 I wouldn't say John Williams is epic. Howard Shore is epic. Danny Elfman is fucking epic. No, John Williams' music is...special, actually magical.I think that he is at his best in E.T., Jurassic Park, Home Alone and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. But his best work is Hedwig's theme.

  • @tomaspeverell I think his best works are Star Wars and Harry Potter.

  • @michelleinhk really does bring you back doesn't it? Back to the days when we were eleven... I want the days back that were worry free and out imaginations were just fledgling and Harry Potter made it fly. I wish i were back.

  • One of the movies that everyone remember, thanks to JK Rowling for create it and to Chris Colombus to give it life to the people that never read the books.

  • BTW, Roger Ebert, the only film critic ever to win a Pulitzer Prize, considers this movie a genuine classic that will withstand the test of time. And by now the series of books by J.K. Rowling is generally considered by serious book critics (both here and abroad) to be modern day classics - not just as an example of fantasy fiction, but as genuine literature.

  • @cyberlarry7 definitely, you'll see in 100 years time, they'll be editions of this in Penguin cheap classics.;)

  • @cyberlarry7

Anyone who calls this movie "a genuine classic" doesn't have the faintest clue about what makes a great film. The script is clunky, the characters are thinly drawn, the acting is wooden and every aspect of dramatic tension is sanitised to pure mush for fear of upsetting 4 year olds.

If those are the ingredients for "a genuine classic", then I'm Brad Pitt.

  • @garethac81 "cult" classic if that makes you happy

  • @garethac81 you need to sort out your priorities

  • Comment removed

  • @eswashere12

Just so we're clear...dumbly nodding along when someone hails this mediocre film as a classic constitutes good prioritising, yes?

  • Comment removed

  • <3 HP.

  • @pennyandvenus calm down dumbass

  • this trailer looks from the 90s

  • True.

  • well, though it was in 2001, it is still considered by many to be part of the 90's film era because of the type of photography used to film the movie.

  • 1:04........jews hahaahahha

  • HAHAHAHA Right on, the little dirty vermin

  • HEEEEEEEEEEEEY

  • harry was told by his aunt and uncle that his parents died in a car crash

  • his perants didnt die in a car crash
