They had to change the movie ending. It was originally the same as the book but they showed it to a test audience and the audience didn't like it so that's why they changed it. I like both endings for different reasons.

Eh..this film didn't really get me at all. I didn't connect to Amanda in this. The only part that made me cry was basically Johns father, but idk, It seemed a bit rushed at the start and end to me in a way. I prefer other movies made from Nicolas' books, this was good though, just not as good as I had anticipated.
