George Harrison's wife was Patti. She did have an affair with Eric Clapton. Eric Clapton did play guitar on the White album to this song per George's request. They were good friends at the time & Eric Clapton was a unbelievable guitarist. Both Layla & the song "Something" written by George Harrison for his wife were both written for Patti. Eric Clapton couldn't use Patti's name for the song but later admitted the song was about her.
