Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 are needing a remake. The Big Boss in these games doesnt fit the Big Boss in the later games, since he had a good reason for outer heaven and zanzibarland, not like this dumb old version of him
@BlacK40k thats could be a reason but this 2 would be great remake cuz they have this old graphics and gameplay, and a remake with today tecnology would make a whole new way for it. they remaked metal gear solid of ps1 to game cube , almost exactly same. this would be mucht more intense, with cutscenes and all new way of metal gear. the only problem is... that kojima is not making more now :(

Big Boss blew up from some hairspray and a lighter into nothing and still lived in an epic way. this game needs a remake so we can ignore this version.
It's no like he could be beaten by a lighter and a spray. I prefer to think that he was a bit old and he was fighting in a point of view with his younger form. He can kill The Boss, The Cobras, The Shagohod, Peace Walker and others BUT he does not stand a chance aginst himself younger...

Liquid supposedly died of foxdie however he had a close quarters fight with Snake in Europe(the place where Big Mama was supposedly exposed to and died of Fox die) yet didn't die until atleast two days later when having a hand to hand fight against Snake ontop of Outer Haven? His death WAS from FOXDIE. Big Boss said it, so it's true.
As for why Liquid Ocelot didn't die from FOXDIE in Act 3; it's just like why Liquid didn't die in the torture room in MGS1. It would be inconvenient for the plot if they died at those points.
@JohnKiller118 it's plot inconvience but it doesn't make sense even in the sense of the plot, I can understand liquid in 1 not dying because he was only in the room for like 2 minutes, (unlike Sigint or Keith Baker where Snake was in the room for a prolonged time) however in 4 Liquid grabs holds and even whispers into snakes ear while snake has an open exposed wound. I believe that big boss was a fake, that ending was a big fake out and the real big bossed died at the end of this video
Every source states that this is the real Big Boss. Big Boss says that Ocelot and EVA died from FOXDIE. Big Mamma was with Snake much longer than anyone else, yet she didn't die until much later. Again, "plot convience." Nothing more.

It was implied that it wasn't the real big boss, he called solid snake BROTHER were? The only two people to say that to snake are Liquid and Solidus. Then you have to consider that he's 20 YEARS OLDER, yet not looking a day older than his last apperance to snake and has the speed to disarm snake.
And yet this so called "brother" still refers to himself as the same Big Boss that we see in MG1 and 2. ("You erased me two times before." "They did it again... they used you... to kill me..." "ever since the day I killed the Boss...")

I don't understand the whole PTSD thing for Snake. If he is a natural born killer (which he is, a badass one), he wouldn't have it. Also, going back to fighting is no way to get rid of the "nightmares."

Throughout the series we are reminded that being a soldier is all he lives for, so he shouldn't get PTSD. Those who suffer from PTSD are really not meant to be soldiers psychologically. Amoral people have been the best soldiers throughout history as they don't feel guilt, but nowadays those are the types that go into prison.

Yes, Metal Gear's nukes was a deterrent. However, he wanted to gain global dominance via OILIX, as well as Metal Gear (it was said in the game that it was used to raid nuclear facilities.) He believed the Boss wanted a perfect world for soldiers. One filled with chaos, and endless warfare... BUT, it was explicitly stated in MGS4 that he MISINTERPRETED the Boss' will!
He wanted the Patriots destroyed, so OH could take control.
I can't believe people saying MG and MG2 should be gotten rid of. They represent exactly what every single Metal Gear game has aimed to do; push the console to the very limits to provide the most cinematic and unique game experience possible.
It's fascinating to see how the series has evolved; MG2 is a refinement of MG; MGS a refinement of MG2, and so on. Yet all the changes have led to a very different experience between MG and MGS4... the only common factor being that it is a stealth game.
@WattyTV Thank you for pointing that out. I am very impressed with how much dialogue they were able to include in this game. This shows me that they took everything they did in part 1 and 2 and used it to make Metal Gear Solid.
The cinematic experience was always a core part of this game. I would not have imagined that an old NES game would pack so much substance.

Let us respect it for the era where it was made. Let us also remember that this game was made in 1987. Think of how much more advanced this game was than the rest in its time. The Security doors, The trap floors, The elevators, The tanks, the helicopters. A lot of thought went into this

If you payed attention to the battle Liquid ocelot was already badly wounded by snake but never yelled until he died proving that something else killed him most likely fox die
badly wounded? he had his finger broke disjointed. he did yell out a few times during the battle especially if you did the strong punch (L1 plus R1). and if you remember going down the list, Decoy Octopus(disguised as Sigint) died because of foxdie only going through the motions of a normal heart attack, Kenneth Baker pasted away without making a sound because of foxdie, Liquid passed without a sound either. so trying to say just because he yelled makes it fox die isn't really solid ground
with that last question comes how are we sure Big mama and Ocelot died from the foxdiee especially since big mama had appeared to die from her wounds cause by ocelot's attack and you beat the F*** out of ocelot
even in the MGS4 database (which is more truth then any wiki) it doesn't go further then to explain that the bodies of liquid and solidus were used to make the body destroyed on the volta and that big boss suddenly appears (not mentioning how he recovered from the burns once or if that was truly him or just another "perfect" clone like solidus)

I agree. There is something to be said about the comic book/videogame mentality of characters never dying. One thing that they might use is that Kessler mentions in codec (here) that BB lost his legs arms etc and has become bionic (half robot) perhaps the BB you are fighting here is not really the real BB or perhaps because he is half machine he survives... i dunno

Since the Metal Gear story is wrapped up, Kojima Productions should do some non half-assed remakes of these two games. The drama between Snake and Big Boss was good in MGS4, it would be neat to see more of it.
EVA/Big Mama kept his cells alive with nanomachines and used parts from Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake to rebuild his body, as they have the same DNA.

Yes, Metal Gear's nukes was a deterrent. However, he wanted to gain global dominance via OILIX, as well as Metal Gear (it was said in the game that it was used to raid nuclear facilities.) He believed the Boss wanted a perfect world for soldiers. One filled with chaos, and endless warfare... BUT, it was explicitly stated in MGS4 that he MISINTERPRETED the Boss' will!
He wanted the Patriots destroyed, so OH could take control.

I can't believe people saying MG and MG2 should be gotten rid of. They represent exactly what every single Metal Gear game has aimed to do; push the console to the very limits to provide the most cinematic and unique game experience possible.
It's fascinating to see how the series has evolved; MG2 is a refinement of MG; MGS a refinement of MG2, and so on. Yet all the changes have led to a very different experience between MG and MGS4... the only common factor being that it is a stealth game.

@WattyTV Thank you for pointing that out. I am very impressed with how much dialogue they were able to include in this game. This shows me that they took everything they did in part 1 and 2 and used it to make Metal Gear Solid.
The cinematic experience was always a core part of this game. I would not have imagined that an old NES game would pack so much substance.

@PHilADelZPHinESt215 I agree sir. You can't knock the foundation ever. Its fun to see how complex a Nintendo game could be, the game is as complex as the first version of Metal Gear available to Playstation.
Let us respect it for the era where it was made. Let us also remember that this game was made in 1987. Think of how much more advanced this game was than the rest in its time. The Security doors, The trap floors, The elevators, The tanks, the helicopters. A lot of thought went into this

@MechaX well it might have been all that running around. solid snake was running around collecting all those items with big boss chasing him. he have gotten dizzy or ran out of energy. and being lit on fire doesnt help it either.

badly wounded? he had his finger broke disjointed. he did yell out a few times during the battle especially if you did the strong punch (L1 plus R1). and if you remember going down the list, Decoy Octopus(disguised as Sigint) died because of foxdie only going through the motions of a normal heart attack, Kenneth Baker pasted away without making a sound because of foxdie, Liquid passed without a sound either. so trying to say just because he yelled makes it fox die isn't really solid ground

even in the MGS4 database (which is more truth then any wiki) it doesn't go further then to explain that the bodies of liquid and solidus were used to make the body destroyed on the volta and that big boss suddenly appears (not mentioning how he recovered from the burns once or if that was truly him or just another "perfect" clone like solidus)

his body was originally taken by the patriots then the paradise lost army got it, and I'm talking about MGS4 big boss who was completely harmed and looking younger then his actual age.and in perfect physical health. I know the clone that appeared in MGS2 was Solidus the supposed perfect clone. The MGS4 datebase can only be fully unlocked by beating MGS4...telling you that I have played it but there are gaps if you look at the datebase and what they have or haven't said in any MGS

dude your forgetting one thing there could have been another clone!! Eva in MGS4 says that she gave birth to Solid and Liquid and in fact never mentions solidus existed meaning she didn't know he was a clone or didn't know about him in general. In Metal Gear Solid Liquid is brought up to believe and dies believe him and solid snake are the only clones, which we found out later was bullshit there could be MORE THAN 3(solid,liquid and solidus) clones out there and MGS4 big boss might be one

wrong he said they carried the genomes of big boss but weren't clones however by having big bosses genomes graphed on there dna they are genetically related to both big boss and solid and liquid as well as solidus. replay the game. Liquid says there were originally 8 but 6 were scrapped during the process of fetal development letting the two original brothers live. and if you notice both back then and in metal gear solid 4 when eva talks about birthing solid and liquid she never mentions solidus

no dude replay the game. they had the gnomes graphed onto their own using gene therapy techniques made by Dr. Clark(paramedic) and Naomi hunter. They're genetically related because of the grafting however they are NOT clones.

those incidents were known to everyone in the metal gear universe who was in foxhound, outer heaven , or the patriots so it's possible it's a clone. and one thing bugged me how did big boss get caught up on events so fast he was in a coma until AFTER the system was destroyed which was AFTER Ocelot and big mama died. How did he learn all that about the patriots becoming self aware when he had been in a medical coma for 20 years. and how would he have known those two had died by a new foxdie?

eva was nearly 90 years old she had a stab through the abdomen that didn't received proper medical attention she then was knocked into the dirty water after probably gettng shell shocked at the end of the the stage. ocelot's body is that of an 80 year old man a very fit 80 year old man but still an 80 year old man and brain tramua can be caused very easily

I agree. There is something to be said about the comic book/videogame mentality of characters never dying. One thing that they might use is that Kessler mentions in codec (here) that BB lost his legs arms etc and has become bionic (half robot) perhaps the BB you are fighting here is not really the real BB or perhaps because he is half machine he survives... i dunno

Liquid's body had decomposed by then and still I have marks from burns and they still haven't healed 100% and in the interview with ryan payton he mentions that(this is right before he left) that if you noticed big boss looks pretty young for a man in his 90's(he was born in the 1930's and MGS4 takes place in 2014) Eva looked older and Eva's actually younger then Big Boss by like 3 years
