What got America out of the Great Depression was NOT WWII as the war caused shortages and wasn't able to handle the returning soldiers. Truman wanted a 3rd New Deal, but a coalition of Dems & Repubs blocked it and pushed for tax cuts and spending cuts. That is what got us out of the Great Depression in 1944-5, so that the returning soldiers can get jobs w/economic growth.

Those are taxes on personal, not business income. Individuals do not pay workers out of their pocket; they pay them from their company's pocket. In times of deficit like this, it is quite foolish to keep taxes down on those who suffer the least of the economic crisis' burden.
