Hi Justin, You are the best guitar tutor on the web. You are clearly passionate about the guitar and music and this comes over in your lessons. You have a fantastic way of building your lessons and explaining techniques simply. Good on you mate. Great ethos. Thank you.
Awesome lesson. I didn't even intend on trying to learn this. I just happened to click on it and happened to love how it sounded. Much easier than it sounds, btw! I love when that happens.
I prefer his long nails because it does away with the nasty plastic sound of the guitar pick thanks for the great lesson..you're a great teacher and very patient. Thanks again
if you take guitar lessons at all, they tell you that your supposed to cut your nails to the nub because they catch on the srings and are to much in the way. my advice would be to keep them short.
wow im going to try and learn this by christmas ! most likely not tho i dont know anything bout playing.. at all ! :( oh and y r ure nails so long !? does it help with playing ? cause i like have no nails .lol
the way he teaches seems to be finger-style. So he needs the nails with the style of strumming. around 5:38 you can see y nails r handy. I don't have any nails either. I guess this is a good opportunity to stop a bad habit for me.
I just decided to try learning too. its not too bad. best of luck in learning. I'm sure u'll get it down by christmas.
It's all about developing styles...get used to play with a pick, long nails or just finger tips, either way you have the same potential if you start from 0 on either one.
you very well play on a guitar I so also want me one melody very pleased here its performer Chet Atkins - Yakety Axe May a dream will learn to play it melody for me keeps indoors you can to rotin this lesson if you rotin I will very thank
you are an absolute star. I have viewed several of you videos now. You are a real natural teacher - as if you need me to tell you that. You have the rare ability to explain complex guitar in the most concise and accarute way. You may never appreciate the value you add to peoples lives.
I just wanna say thanks justin, this was the very first song I learned to play on guitar almost a year ago, and now, and now I play so well, and I'm also teaching this to a friend of mine learning guitar for the first time
so true. When I was learning Dust in the Wind I destroyed my ring finger on my right hand because I had never really done fingerpicking before. When I grew my fingers out it helped a lot.
Hey man thanx! I actually learned this last xmas when you added it but i had forgotten some parts so i came back and now i am perfect again... You make it so easy and yet so lovely... Thanx so much!
it's brilliant! but am a beginner and you went just a bit to fast, i mean your very good and all but since am a beginner it's hard to get it first time round.
Justin you protray that you are intrested in realy teaching guitar. Most guitarist only show off what they can do. They play so fast you can not follow them. I don't see that in your lessons. I see concern for new players. I am a immediate player and I have picked up quiet a lot from your lessons. Bless you man and keep up the good work. I am so impressed that I have become one of your subscribers. Thanks man.

Is there a reason you have such long fingernails? Just wondering.
sdrury123 4 years ago
yes there is.. u can play much easier. but it's not important to have long fingernails when you play this song, at least that's I think..
FrEaKec 4 years ago
It makes guitar playing easier, and the sound nicer, and a benefit is even if you cut a finger badly, you can still play nicely, without pain
also helps in strumming
