@CatapultYourMom,finally somebody spells it out.Without Tommy there would be no Ramones and maybe no punk rock.Tommy's minimalist style was genius and the beat that launched 5000 punk bands.Dee Dee was the attitude and Tommy was the beat.
@sugarjoe50 Yeh i agree, someone out there owns the footage, hopefully it ends up on dvd someday like the other early live dvds that are available, this footage is a great look at the early days & really catches the energy & mood, looks like they had some hot girls working at Max's too hey :)
I was at this show. I'll never forget meeting friends on the subway ride home...they were coming back from seeing Peter Frampton at the Madison Square Garden!
@sugarjoe50 wow man thats awesome i would have loved to have seen this show its probably my favourite of their vintage footage, does anyone know if the full show at Max's exists on dvd or? i only have these 2 from the Alive dvd, would be great to see the whole show hey :)
Just take their first album or the second one (Ramones or Leave Home), play in on your stereo, and that'll do the job. :-)
Or you can start with their one of their amazing 3 first Live Recordings (It's Alive-most recommended, NYC 1978 or You Don't Come Close. They all great).
I have all the re-issues and most of the original releases.
Personally, I hate the remastering. It's just awful in the first 3 albums. So I bought also the original releases.
Leave Home is awesome absolutely amazing.
I didn't know that there's a live album from that tour!
I thought you meant to the whole tour. I have 90Gb of live shows, and I have couple of shows from that tour, and they're awesome. I thought you meant to them!
What's a type-o? Anyway, that show is from March 13th, 1989 for sure.
As I said, I have the list of every concert that Ramones ever played. I have specific dates of all the shows the played with Richie. He played 372 concerts with them. The first show was February 13th, 1983, and the last show was in August 12th, 1987.
Alright so I see you don't want to contact by mailing?
OK so we can still talk in here, but it will take me longer to answer.
So.. Did you ask about the difference between the remastered and the original?
Well, remastering means that the record company takes the original recordings (original tapes), and by using digital technology, they actually make it a "better sound".
Personally, I think remastering s*cks.. because after you remaster it, it's not the same sound again.
That's the coolest band ever and it's fuckin' timeless.

European summer tour '89 was also good
CoudyRamone 1 year ago
@CoudyRamone
Yes, it was good, but not for people who are new to the Ramones.
When you're only starting you know 'em, you need to start with their early metarial, because that's what made 'em the Ramones.

I started with Live Home, beucase I didn't the find the debut.

My top, top favorite is absolutely their self-titled, Ramones.
I also really love Leave Home, Rocket to Russia and Halfway to Sanity.
But seriously, every album is awesome. Even End of the Century and Pleasant Dreams has some real gems.

I have it, it's from 13th May, not March.
They didn't play a concert on the 13th March.

Bootlegs.
I used to be a Ramones collector.
I have all of their CDs and a couple of different pressings, all official live recordings, DVDs and some compilations.
I have alot of bootlegs I got when I used to collect. I know a couple of other collectors from the world that have alot of bootlegs.
Here's my site, you can see my collection in there:

You can find mine in the site.
I'm waiting for your mail. :)

@CoudyRamone
The problem is, that almost every album that recorded on tapes is now available only on a remastered version.
Unrimastered Ramones CDs are very hard to find these days. I looked for them for very long time.
Vinyl is sound is the best! That's great you have a vinyl of Rocket to Russia from 1980, the sound quality must be amazing. :-)
So that's the difference between remastered version and original version.
If you have more questions, I'll be happy to answer. :-)
