@deltoidevolution I highly doubt you were infected with the blaster worm. It's a 2003 worm and systems got patched immediately. The worm infects XP and Win 2000 operating systems that are vulnerable to the RPC DCOM vulnerability. If you are still using windows 2000/XP and haven't done a system update since 2003 which is 9 years ago then I think you sir deserve that worm. :D

@XxSTaTiiC I had the same problem. Was playing WoW and had to look something up. Wham, blaster virus. Had to format my comp (vista), installed new anti-virus and now it runs perfect. No character loss either. Hope you figured out your problem by now. If not, formating does the job. Game on..!!

This virus does not only restart your computer, it can even make so you must REBOOT your system from a recovering CD. My dad had this virus last year. It was TERRIBLY annoying to reboot the computer 5-6 times each day. Uuuh, I don't like viruses. ;-P
