Kool Herc (Clive Campbell) is the father of Hip-Hop and this song is DJ Kool (John W. Bowman, Jr.) Two different people... Though both really awesome!
hah,ok,i made a mistake,i love hip hop and i'm with hip hop from my day one and i think i have to change the name of this movie , thanks for straight it up !
we have to teach the babys right- this is why things in hip hop today are the way they are. The image is kool DJ herc- godfather of hip hop. The song is DJ kool from Washington, D.C. -Which is where I'm from so this is how I know- and him, Biz and Doug E are rappin over a break beat that was made by Mark the 45 king called 'the 900 number, which he sampled from marva whitney's 'unwind yourself. Peace
@HCane22 I am absolutely right. This was recorded by D.J. Kool (John Bowman), Biz Markie and Doug E Fresh in 1996. Kool Herc (Clive Campbell) had semi-retired by 1980, and never recorded anything for commercial release.
I COULD LISTEN TO THIS ALL DAMN DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh snap!!.. I never heard the song before, but I skipped into the song, heard the beat, recognized it, and automatically did the Ed Lover dance

Read this if you think DJ Kool and DJ Kool Herc are the same person.
To clear up the confusion and vanity, Ahem:
DJ Kool = John W. Bowman, Jr. Born 1959 in Washington D.C. Let Me Clear My Throat was his biggest hit.
DJ Kool Herc = Clive Campbell. Born 1955 in JAMAICA. Considered by many to be the originator of hip hop.
