Dude, I have this coupe, and I LOVE it, but this dude is off his damn rocker. He's never driven a Corvette, Viper, or Fararri, yet he insists this car is the best on the planet or some shit. He's a well spoken guy, but he needs to learn what his words actually mean. They do have a sweet sound to them, and they are a blast to drive. I've had an RX-8, spd3, and a 350Z, for some reason this little Si bastard is my favorite out of all of them. Weird, right? Do miss the RWD though.
@WRXmayyyne Because Honda believes in good engineering. Whereas Subaru and Mazda take 2 slow cars, slap on a turbo and call it fast. I owned a 2004 WRX and i definitely think i made a good choice switching to a 08 FG2. I love subarus because the awd was great to have where i live in chicago and the boxer engine made one of the best sounds ive heard. But don't be a typical subaru driver thinking that a WRX or STi is a better car then a corvette or a supra cuz thats what most do think

@mikes08gtms3 Except that it isn't a Mazda so his alternator won't blow after a year, battery won't be dead, main seal won't blow, there won't be any weird bogging issues and it will get far superior gas mileage while still being more phone than any POS mazda.

it doesn't switch to a second set of camshafts. it switches to a second cam. two cams in total......and the new k24 is no faster than the old k20. and yes, i own one. supercharged. 1/4 eta in low 13's on street tires trapping 107 mph.
and he's right about competition. i got mine brand new out the door for 20,500. try getting a speed3, gti, wrx, mini, or sentra se-r for that price. its only price competitor would be a scion tc.....yeah. no comparison.

It's also important to note that plain physics demands that "pingyness" sound you hear. Ferraris have that same smooth ping...my SpecV does in a way...
@pcfxer I've heard both and I used to be just like you, but more air is pushed into a V8 Ferrari and u really can hear a difference. Nothing sounds that good. Watch a vid that hasn't been audio mixed like a homemade one with someone who owns an F430 and really goes through all the rpms. Nothing can compare.

I drive a Scion TC, and the other night my friend let me test drive her Si Coupe. The Si is all around a better car...handling, braking, and Vtec! Amazing Car! Just too expensive for me.
basically dont compare the car to a boosted car, the car wasnt built to take on boosted cars. honda always wants to and will probably stick to running all motor cars.

I always hated Honda and thought they were overrated, but for a normally aspirated 4cyl, I reckon this can keep up with some of the best of 'em. On the scion tC being just as good, I would have to disagree with you. Albeit it does look very cool, and come stock with a very nice sound system and some quite good features for a good price, the overall handling and practicality are not quite up to par compared to the Honda Civic Si's.
Now, that's not exactly a bad thing, becaues the Scion tC would make a great first car for a highschooler. While the Civic Si would be great for a college kid.
@Vierhuizen i disagree seeing as the tc has more options which follows more handling or power or both and still being affordable as well as keeping the factory warranty. which is with the civic what you see is what you get with the si unless to buy the mugen edition, which is very expensive not to mention hard to get ahold of in certain regions of america.
I see. Very good point there Stealth. I was wrong, you were right. The starting price on tC's were much lower than I initially thought! And as you did mention, the list of options is gigantic. In the end I prefer the Honda Civic Si. Why? The gearbox, the touchpoints, and the extremely high revving v-tech engine.
I just bought this car! I was worried about the torque and HP numbers, but the damn car gets going like a rocket. It's flat-out fast. Unless you have been in one, you have no clue.

People just don't understand honda...they THINK that because honda uses low amounts of horsepower that they're weak cars.. When in reality, a mustang or an american car with double the horsepower simply doesn't have the acceleration or finesse. I've ridden in one these with four people and it was passing cars on the interstate like they were parked.

@DivinityOfDoom You drove a Civic... not a MS3 or Cobalt SS T/C. The SS T/C ran the same Lightning Lap time as an Evo MR. FWD isn't the best, but it can hang with some very very good cars.

Good car but Honda really needs to step it up. This was just in 2007 and later that year here comes the new GTi and Mazdaspeed 3 to name a few. Hell even the recent Cobalt SS for crying out loud lol. This 197HP V-tech stuff isn't cutting it anymore and now the beloved S2000 is no more :(.

On the scion tC being just as good, I would have to disagree with you. Albeit it does look very cool, and come stock with a very nice sound system and some quite good features for a good price, the overall handling and practicality are not quite up to par compared to the Honda Civic Si's.
Now, that's not exactly a bad thing, becaues the Scion tC would make a great first car for a highschooler. While the Civic Si would be great for a college kid.

@Vierhuizen i disagree seeing as the tc has more options which follows more handling or power or both and still being affordable as well as keeping the factory warranty. which is with the civic what you see is what you get with the si unless to buy the mugen edition, which is very expensive not to mention hard to get ahold of in certain regions of america.

I see. Very good point there Stealth. I was wrong, you were right. The starting price on tC's were much lower than I initially thought! And as you did mention, the list of options is gigantic. In the end I prefer the Honda Civic Si. Why? The gearbox, the touchpoints, and the extremely high revving v-tech engine.

I just bought this car! I was worried about the torque and HP numbers, but the damn car gets going like a rocket. It's flat-out fast. Unless you have been in one, you have no clue.

People just don't understand honda...they THINK that because honda uses low amounts of horsepower that they're weak cars.. When in reality, a mustang or an american car with double the horsepower simply doesn't have the acceleration or finesse. I've ridden in one these with four people and it was passing cars on the interstate like they were parked.

197 hp front wheel drive long lasting piece of SHIT. I have driven one, I actually owned an 08 Civic si ... Traded her in for an s2k, I just can't do front wheel drive. Especially when even a fucking gay ass srt-4 can kill you. That's when you know your ride is a piece of god damned fucking bullshit. Unless you don't ever go to the track this car won't be the one for you. TRUST ME. If you care about performance you can do a hell of a lot better for much cheaper

@DivinityOfDoom You drove a Civic... not a MS3 or Cobalt SS T/C. The SS T/C ran the same Lightning Lap time as an Evo MR. FWD isn't the best, but it can hang with some very very good cars.

@CaptObvious75 you mention(and others) the cobalt ss t.c., while im not denying the cars accomplishments at all, and they ARE actually very sharp looking cars as well as the t.c. ones being pretty quick, in the end you are still left with a piece of crap chevy! i suppose that is fine if you dont plan on keepin the car, but i am sorry to say that foreign cars are just plain built better and if you want to have a car for the long haul then the honda would be the way to go.even ask consumer reports

Good car but Honda really needs to step it up. This was just in 2007 and later that year here comes the new GTi and Mazdaspeed 3 to name a few. Hell even the recent Cobalt SS for crying out loud lol. This 197HP V-tech stuff isn't cutting it anymore and now the beloved S2000 is no more :(.
