came to view the city... there was a small portion of protesters compared to the Many people who went for support, and not to mention the hundred and hundred of volunteers who organize events, do pr, work booths, and helped in organization of the IOC visit.

No american city has lost money for the olympics. Two of the main reasons the previous cities have lost money are The Olympic stadium and the Village. The olympic village in chicago is a done deal whether or not the games are awarded. Plus when the michael reese campus was put up for sale they pledged 20 million of the 80 million cost to be given back to the city..The city seized the offer and bought it....using the 20 million to hopefully use the interest to pay for the site. stadium is unlike the birds nest in beijing and the OS in London...IT is not meant to last. Beijing and London cant find anyone to rent the stadium for permanent or longtime use. So they are getting no money on there investment. Chicagos OS is not a permanent stadium..its not as big as the others and does not house permanent concessions. The stadium is going to be downgraded to a 10,000 seat amphitheater after the games.
