  • anyone else feel that they can finish this boss in under one minute

  • Hey, isn't he the very last Boss in Other M?

  • @chaoszero11 Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • If their are Godzilla fans out there. Have you noticed that phantoon's roar, is extremely familiar to the monster "titanosaurus" from Godzilla?

  • @juventinorocks Yea, i just noticed 2. Phantoon is learning the annoying cackle YAY!

  • @horrordude3 Haha:D

  • And this is the last boss in Metroid Other M

  • Super Missiles take too long with Phantoon retaliating. I use charged Wave-Spazer-Ice beam shots.

  • Lol, Phantoon in Other M is 100 times bigger!

  • @Flash11I19 And he looked pissed.

  • I can't get Samus to Charge Jump so all she does is take damage until she dies =/

  • @TaintedChozo Make sure you're fully charged, so that Samus starts flashing, before you spin jump or else it won't work.

  • @Desbreko

I'm aware on HOW to Charge Jump, but Samus tends to just jump straight up rather than do a spin. I'm using the Classic Controller Pro and I'm wondering if it's because I tend to use the analog stick rather than the D-pad.

  • @TaintedChozo Hm, dunno. I've never used a classic controller for the game, so I'm not sure if the control stick would act any different.

Are you making sure you've taken a step forward before pushing jump? If you're standing still, it takes a few frames after pushing forward before you can spin jump. And if you turn around first, it takes a few more frames on top of that.

  • @Desbreko

I've played the original Metroid, Zero Mission, and Fusion. In each I had absolutely no problem with somersaulting ><" I tried to wall jump with the analog stick and she just wouldn't do it, so I switched to the D-pad and it worked fine so I'm assuming it is the stick's fault :P

  • @Desbreko When he does the whip thing (1:05 - 1:20) you can roll into morph ball and hide in a corner. If you take damage, stay there. If you don't, move to the other corner; he will whip the other way.

  • @Mber7560 That only works in the PAL version.

  • He's so teeny compared to his Other M version. Who's a cute Phantom Space Alien Jellyfish?

  • like him better in other m

  • Wouldn't it have been faster if you shot him with 3 regular missiles, then hit him with a super?

  • @MysteryAC Probably, but if you're going for speed, you shouldn't use supers at all except for the last hit.

  • Phantoon sounds like Titanosaurus from godzilla every time he is hit. Titanosaurus made that same sound.

  • yay Phantoon appears as a secret boss in metroid other M!

  • looks like a metroid hatcher

  • not gonna lie, charge beam is the best way to safely take down phantoon.

  • If you get the xray visor before this (like i did) you can see him while he's invisible.

  • This will always be the best game in the series.

  • Haha, this boss was really hard for me. Great game, this was the best game I played from nintendo when I was a kid.

  • im pretty good to, but this guy beats me up pretty bad.

  • Not bad! :o)

I can never beat that creep without alot of damages yet. You are a great player. 7/5 stars.

  • do not. use super missles vs phantoon. or it will do a very nasty attack, that is hard to dodge

  • That attack is stupidly easy to avoid so long as you've got the Charge Beam. Did you even watch the video?

  • yeah. i did. sometimes i got caught off guard.

  • You've got, like, five seconds after hitting it with a super missile before it starts sending down the waves of flames. That's plenty of time to charge and spin jump, and it always does it with the same timing. It's way safer than using charged beam shots and missiles.

  • sometimes i didn't get samus to spin jump

  • You gotta make sure Samus is moving forward before jumping. I forget the exact pixel amount you have to move before jumping but it's not far, you just can't push jump immediately after pushing to the side. And it takes longer if you turn around first since you don't actually move during the turn around animation.

  • @golbezchaoslord Nasty? hmm,What does he do? takes his dick out and piss fire? or just rape samus?

  • @ShadowRocks25 the fire ball waves. which i really not the greatest at dodging.

  • hey wat do u use as a controller cause i;m using the keyboard and it really messes, me up, is there any where i could get like a super nintendo or something controller for this?

  • Search for "snes usb adapter" on Google.

  • Oh God

he goes all giygas at the end!

Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus Samus.

    I'm...H...A...P...P...Y...

  • thx brah

  • phantoone looks kinda cute.

  • reminds me of arachnus kinda

  • is he the hardest boss in super metroid?

  • No, Ridley is.

  • Ridley was cake. I honestly think Phantoon was much harder, simply because of the length of his attacks, and the small window of opportunity you get to attack it.

  • Yum, Cake!

  • any1 agrees that phantoon is a annoying boss? xD

  • Draygon kicked my ass so many times. So no.

  • ? Draygon. The Boss In Mordia? That boss can never kick my ass. This one has a chance at it but no...

  • I totally freaked out when I fought Mother Brain and this guy. Metroid games always seem so..alienish! Still. They're all fun to fight. lol

  • You're just being ignorant.

  • Try changing your offensive tone first. Second, the video creator clearly addressed that it's DIFFICULT and WHY. It's a lot nicer and more convincing than your comment.

  • You're arrogant. End of story.

  • He ain't lying though. Someone already has it recorded with no damage.

  • lol comment drama. I've always been aware that it's POSSIBLE to do this fight with no damage. I just don't care to spend the time necessary to pull it off when there's a significant amount of luck involved.

  • Mmm well, I wouldn't say so much luck. If you know how the fire falls, it isn't hard to avoid it. Just saying is all.

  • Avoiding the flames is usually easy enough, so long as Phantoon doesn't litter the floor with them and then open its eye in the exact spot you need to land after jumping through them. The part that involves luck is when Phantoon goes invisible and then instantly reappears; as far as I've been able to tell, there's no way to predict where it'll appear to avoid it.

Though I've started some more testing and I think I may have found a way to avoid it at least a large majority of the time.

  • Well, I noticed that when he sways a lot, and he goes to slow down, that is when you have to be ready. Irregardless if he doesn't do it. Most of the time, you can tell if he is going to shoot flames.

  • The new strategy worked out and I got a no damage video uploaded, if you're interested. It removes a lot of the chance of Phantoon appearing on top of you, though there is still some luck required since you can get trapped by too many flames at times.

  • I know it would be possible, just hard. It's one thing to dodge an attack with no guarantee to successfully dodge it, but it's hard to keep it up for the entire battle. The charge attack (charge + somersault) helps a lot.

I was mainly replying to how rude and unreasonable the comment was, saying "I can do better come to my channel" or something with no explanation or anything.

  • the psuedo screw attack is the spin+charge.

  • Uh, yes... your point?

  • You cannot grasp the true form of Phantoon's attack!

  • @lhatecards ok now i have to make a video about giy-toon.

  • he becomes giygas at end oh snap

  • such an itty bitty fighting area...O___\

  • It's longer but you take a lot less damage if you know to use the pseudo-screw attack through the waves of flames.

  • phantoon is such a bad-ass name for a boss

  • I dunno, sounds kinda like pontoon to me.

  • Always reminds me of pantaloon :p.

  • Wow! You make Samus an hero!

  • Holy shit dude!! only 60 damage!! In the vids I've seen, thats a RECORD!!!

  • how do you jump off the walls?

  • Somersault at a wall, push the opposite direction while touching it, then push jump immediately afterward.

  • is phantoon a ghost or a monster that can be inviseble

  • He is a Phantom^^

  • I downloaded the game for Wii yesterday. I beat him on SNES, but I'm having trouble now, so thanks for the strategy. :]

  • Is is just like the time my brother fought this ghost...hhhhhaaaaaaa,good times.

  • that is the worst boss ever

  • You know, if you time it right, you can use the Wavebuster technique to make it faster (Charge-Wave only, Power Bombs on). I saved four minutes doing that.

  • Here is what i would do in this fight(if you want to make it quicker).

1sT Turn off spazer for this fight..Once you shoot it with a charged spazer he will vanish so you only get to shoot him once

Next dodge all of his hits(Make sure your beam is charged)and when you opens his eyes and he isant see-through any more shoot him with your charged beam, hit him again with your charged beam, then equip a missle, shoot him once with that, then equip your super missile, shoot him once with that, hpe that helps

  • Actually it's better to disequip the Ice Beam for that since it adds less damage than the Spazer does but still keeps it low enough that Phantoon won't disappear after being hit by a charged shot.

That strategy is faster but I found it harder to avoid getting hit when using it. I tend to go with the safest method for my videos so that's why I chose to use all super missiles except for the one charged ice/wave/spazer shot.

  • Thats my least favorite boss.

  • I agree <:(

  • actually I'v found there is a way to find out where phantoon is so that he cannot just appear on top of you, if you get the x-ray vision before this fight and use it you can see his silouhet when he's invisible.

  • Man...I wish I knew about pseudo-Screw Attacking. My video would be waaaaaaay better if I knew about that.

I might be wrong, but I think the Phantoon fight in the PAL version is a little easier than the NTSC version. You know that little circle fire thing after Phantoon is hit with a Super Missile? It is said that you can Morph Ball into one of the corners and it will miss. Then you just go left and right in the corner and it will miss. That is what I read..or whatever.

  • I've also heard of that but it's never worked for me. I figured somebody made it up but maybe it does only work in the PAL version.

  • Hmmm...I think I will test that when I get some time. I hope it is true.

  • it is true, I do it all the time

  • Ahh...I see.

    Thanks for confirming.

  • np ^^

  • I think that this was tool assisted.

  • I wouldn't get hit at all and there would be a lot less close misses if it were. All that would take is using a few re-records during the fight.

  • Guncon3: If this was tool assisted, they can beat phantoon in 5 seconds or something like that.

  • TOTAL PWNAGE!

  • Wow, that was awesome! First time I fought this guy(about five hours ago), I thought he was going to be really hard...boy was I wrong!
