  • Typical politicians. Always making the first port of order, about themselves.

  • 'Best question ever'?

Well, thumbs up for the hyperbole but as some other posters have attempted to demonstrate recording a budget surplus is by no means illustrative of good governance. Governments, in theory, legislate upon and distribute the tax base according to societal needs; they are not instruments of profiteering.

Neither wanton spending or thrifty concealment of public funds ought to be congratulated. As for Wyatt Roy, he'll look upon his naivety in future years with embarrassment.

  • Classic. Nothing to fall back on so personal attacks begin ie the questions age. That answer had nothing to do with the question and as for the earlier comment regarding judging parties on the past...work choices was one thing and one thing only, not 21 years of failure. In general whenever liberal has been in government the country, the people and the economy, have flourished. Labour is NO LONGER for the working man and it's been many, many years since they were. Labour...look up nepotism. Not

  • "record stands in stark contrast to those opposite" what a dreamer eh!

  • Swan should have just said "kid, say no to drugs".

  • @blogotube

confiucius say - damn, he's right.

  • Wyatt is showing his ignorance, being only 21 & is not experienced enough to know that Australia operates in a GLOBAL economy.

The reason why Labor has not produced a budget surplus in his lifetime is because Labor has been in Government when the GLOBAL economy was in or coming out of GLOBAL recessions. In GLOBAL recessions, you get less tax revenue, you have to pay out more dole payments which will push you into deficits and you should try & stimulate the economy to a degree.

  • @suti60 Lets not forget that Bob Carr as NSW premier had to pay off the Liberals debt. It just shows that its global circumstances that causes governments to go into debt.

  • Wyatt Roy ahahahahahaha

  • Wyatt: Proud MFAC'er

  • So they say 'oh we've saved everyone so much money & we'll be in surplus 2012' well guess what? Its 2012 & nothing has changed with Labour. We're in more debt then we've been in years & on top of that to cover their butt Labour has started cutting those payments wayne was praising. Not taxes for the rich, not ways to increase profit, but payment cuts for family, youth & the disabled. Thanks a lot labour

  • Wayne Swan completely owned him.

  • WOW!!! now isn't that a turn-up for the books

  • It's easy to run a surplus when you don't do anything in which the opposition has plenty of experience.

  • The title reads wrong, it should be "BEST RESPONSE EVER", hardly even an ok question.

  • We are currently 281B in gross debt. There will be no surplus this F/year. Labor again making promises it knows very well it can't keep.

  • @yellowmegavidz Oh well say thanks to the Libs for the extra 70 billion black hole...

  • @IIZODIIAC eh? when the Libs last had control of the budget wasn't there are 27B surplus and money in the bank??

  • @yellowmegavidz The past means little in politics its all about the future, otherwise we would be judging the Liberals based on the horrible "work choices", see its not fair.

  • No wonder why Mr Jenkins gave up the Job to Slipper. Probably had enough of this political bullshit.

  • Yes, you order that house mr fat man.

  • Our political system is such a fucking embarrassment. The speaker has zero control and the MP's act like children.

  • @ke70hibino That's what makes it so entertaining for the rest of us.

  • this is like a REALLY lame version of '8 mile'. all they do is 'diss' each other...

  • All those people in that room are fucking retarded. It's not even my opinion. Its simply a fact.

  • @NewVersusOld And your entitled to your opinion.

  • Thought he would asking Please Sir may I go to the toilet.

  • They are a bunch of children! Holy shit!!

  • i dont know what the fuck this stupid fucking arguing resovles.

  • Comment removed

  • Sheldon Cooper??

  • A brillaint question that Swanny boy got owned in. Fuck the Labortards & the Greens!

  • @aussiedig01 How about we discuss his achievements when he's been in the job for a while

  • #ISupportJulia

  • Oh my god..... I dont think ive ever hated someone so much after 5 seconds of hearing them speak. What a smarmy prick.

  • SURPLUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ????????????? wtf is this moron talking about friggen pure bullshit artist

  • That was hardly a good question considering it was scripted, however Swanies unprepared response was a great come back. I agree with comment about this guys experience, perhaps he should go back to his lego. Good call SuperFrogguts.

  • Hang on a sec he's 21 in I presume 2011. Labor has been in since 2007 That would mean that when labor was elected he was just 17 years old. Before that the coalition was in power for something like 11 years therefore he was only 6 years old when the last labor govt lost power, so what he's actually saying is the labor govt before this didn't raise a surplus and this one says it will. Nice try there Wyatt but the public isn't altogether stupid.

  • @hhawk3 hahah don't be upset that a man 1/3 your age has achieved more than you and would make you look like a retard if you ever qualified for a debate with him.......

  • watch?v=-Vvzrq7AA3E& - I think we should get this out as well. How many people have seen this?

  • THis bloke will live off the public tit for the rest of his life he has no or ever have any expeirience of real life just the dirty Canberra stench of opportunism, entitlement & perks. Oh by the way little man Laborwas the first Govt. to balanced the budget and bring in a surplus , Hawke - Keating the libs never did that before and while they reaped the rewards of Keating they gave away baby bonuses... medicare rebates to the WEALTHY and listen to them cry about losing that now.

  • 'Best question'. Yeah, sure.

  • >implying that a surplus is important

  • Hard to accuse the opposition of lying when they never come out with any detailed policies for which to lie about. I'm no labor supporter but the 'tell you later' line from the Libs is tiresome.

  • Well said Wyatt - Others ctiticising you on here are simply jealous that someone so young has been able to grasp the full scale of labor's renowned economic mismanagement. We see it with our own eyes - all the reckless spending, wasting and haphazard policies. But only few fully understand it.

  • I wonder who wrote that question for him.

  • Confiucius say to be old and wise first you must be young and stupid...

  • @blogotube History say right make the money and left give it to there union mates who spend it on whores and bribes and borrow more............

  • @blogotube History say right make the money and left give it to there union mates who spend it on whores and bribes and borrow more............

  • The liberals are like the Nazi army in the last days of the war. Old men and children.

  • Like this if you think This KID can run Australia better than any Labor minister

  • Sorry folks but nobody seems to take this guy seriously and the fact that I managed to get a top comment with a Skyrim joke seems to make my point.I just thought of another one too.

I used to be a Labor supporter like you, then I took a deficit to the budget.

  • The house will come to order OK STFU WE HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME!

  • He's such a weed but the sad thing is... pretty much all the politicians in that room are as immature and childish as Wyatt. Listen to them!!

  • Can you imagine the intellect of the voters of this federal seat. This kid hasn't had his first fuck yet and they put him in parliment. I always knew the people of Caboolture were inbred, low I.Q morons but this just proves it.

  • @jimmyjazz240 Good point but can you please learn how to spell 'parliament' before you talk politics

  • @stupididiot61 Why should a typo prelude a person from talking politics?

  • Yes wakeup2thelies I know Kevin Rudd is The Member for Griffith in Brisbane in Queensland duh, but I i am not the one who gets Federal and State Parliament and elections mixed up. As after The QLD State Election, Kevin well still have his seat.

  • Swan totally dodges the question, like always his record stand by itself, no more: oh yes very important question mr speaker, we care about the people blah blah blah, stop the spinning and answer why we should trust you when you gave us a carbon tax we don't want!!

  • @bushgayclown who are "us" and "we" and the community like "us" and "we" are not getting The Carbon Tax, so how can you not want something, that you aren't you getting in the first place?

  • who you think really think this tax is going to hurt BHP or Rio Tinto? they made a deal with the government to not pay the same rate as the rest, the rest are small to medium business that employ 65% of the work force in Australia and they are not going to sit around: jobs cuts, moving to Asian countries or just passing the increase to the consumers, we-us-you and me. So just think a little bit, everything goes and comes around like a domino effect just look at Europe.10%unemployment rate now.

  • @bushgayclown just think a bit, did you actually provided evidence to your claim especially from The Government Dept responsible for The Carbox Tax? NO you did not. PS Did you know Europe is more then one country, so surely common sense would tell you all countries cannot 10% unemployment.

  • 10% in Au bro

  • @bushgayclown but of course before even the Carbon Tax has came in, not one business or company cut jobs, moved overseas or went broke? Like Telstra, Brashes, Sleep City, ANL, Arnotts, Ansett, Compass Airline, Bonds etc etc . Get my point bush? Good!!! And what domino effect? Is Australia like Europe or The USA? NO!!!!

  • @aussiekwv also im not going to say that the economy is great. Australia is obviously not like USA or Europe u dumbass, but what happens if USA collapses? who you think lend most of its money to the USA? China, so they will also collapse and who buys Australian goods? China! so on.

  • Comment removed

  • @bushgayclown if you cannot win the debate, cannot come up with evidence people asked of you and you have nothing useful to write. Name call. How brave you must be?

  • @bushgayclown you made the claims, why don't you tell us?

  • If he had half a brain he'd realise Wayne Swan answered his question perfectly. Watching Wyatt cry is great

  • Wyatt Roy you stupid douche

  • Ultimate FAIL!! wakeup2thelies.

  • Comment removed

  • In all that time, Wyatt has also never had a root, doubt that will change either

  • Rip another hole SWANNY!

  • I can answer that question!

BECAUSE THE LIBERALS DON'T SPEND THE MONEY ON THE TAX PAYERS.

IT"S ALL FUNDED TOWARD HELPING BIG BUISNESS THROUGH PRIVATISATION AND ABSOLUTE SHITE LIKE THAT!

So when labour gets in they NEED to spend on public services because we are so STARVED!

  • @motleycruesader Always about the economy!

    FCKN LIBTARDS

  • @motleycruesader Dude it is all messed up.

  • Thank you Wyatt for your contribution to the betterment of our nation with that well thought out question. Now fuck off back to your Lego.

  • And it was Labor Governments who gave you a free education you little cunt.

  • Little wyatt asking what abbott asked him to ask is a fraud,as little wyatt asked the same question of swan last year,so having asked the same question twice ,one reads abbott told him to say it again,a lot of money for a little boy to waste everyones time, but then again ,the old hasbeens also just follow abbotts dumb reasoning for power at any cost to the country.

  • @Schnappi1936 - I believe it's the only thing that Wyatt Roy has ever asked in Parliament - and this time, he couldn't even do that right.

I wonder if he'll trot the same thing out in another six months?

  • It sickens me to see how ignorant and idiotic the liberals are.

I rather for Australia to be a communist country then the liberals run it.

  • @Revegeance Easy enough to say from a position of ignorance in a democracy. Move to North Korea or China and try exercising that freedom of speech you take for granted.

  • Or-fucking-der! (Best 12th Man thing ever!)

  • @Chuditch60 Really? I thought my heavy dose of sarcasm in my comment would've been enough. I'm on your side dude. He's a little LNP stooge

  • I knew him, I have met him before

  • AAAAAWWWWWWDDAAAAAAAAAA

  • 11 of those years were spent under a Liberal government. The 10 remaining have been during a global economic crisis. The point is moot.

  • owned by a 20 year old. nuff said

  • @adamsmith85 - Wyatt Roy's comment was wrong.

    He owned no-one.

  • I've got a question for Wyatt Roy. Wyatt, I've been paying taxes for well over 30 years, how long have you been paying taxes for?

  • stupid questions receive stupid answers, and wyatt roy is a dumb cunt.

  • @fluffysnakeful People who use words like that certainly don't register too highly in the intelligence stakes because either a) they can't think of any more interesting words or b) can but choose not to which makes other people think they are unintelligent.

As for his question, I'm a lot older than him and I can't recall any labor governments returning a surplus either.

  • @uknowispeaksense I think Keating as treasurer in 1988 delivered Australias biggest ever surplus.

  • @dlan1500 really? my memory of it was probably erased by the shock of 17% interest rates and high unemployment the following year.

  • @uknowispeaksense Actually the 70 and 80s were a real roller coaster ride for interest rates and inflation. It only reached 17% because the government removed the 14% cap. The unofficial rate during the late 70s was 22% but was capped at 14% which therefore saw inflation rise. The big killer for inflation and interest rates was the end of wage fixing and the incomes accord agreement. Since 1991 inflation and high interest rates have died.

  • @dlan1500 - You are correct. Interest rates hit an all time high under the Fraser (Liberal) Government, however, housing interest rates were capped.

And that was with Howard as the Treasurer.

There are a lot of people that always bag Paul Keating as Treasurer, however, even Tony Abbott acknowledges that Australia has done so well because of economic reforms implemented by Keating.

There is some YouTube footage of Abbott saying that (for the non-believers out there).

  • @phonytonyabbott - on youtube type " Keating's triumphant legacy as treasurer" This is where Abbott credits Australia avoiding a recession on his reforms. I think deep down Abbott has a lot of respect for Keating.

  • @dlan1500 - Abbott does indeed have a lot of respect for Keating. He's spoken a number of times about the economic reforms of Keating and Hawke, and yet, Coalition supporters still bag Keating and Hawke. It really doesn't make a lot of sense.

  • @phonytonyabbott Its well known that John Howard wished he had done the reforms of Hawke and Keating Governments but he was too slow under the Fraser Government. I doubt whether the National Party at the time would have allowed it anyway. Thats why Howard as PM kept bagging Keating because it got under his skin that he opened up Australia's economy. Also Liberal voters cant get over the fact that a Labor Govt did all the tough reforms.

  • @uknowispeaksense - he did and the proof is easy to find.

Google is your friend - if you actually care for the truth, that is.

  • @phonytonyabbott The truth for me is I have noone to vote for. I can't vote conservative because they all have their head in the sand when it comes to AGW and I can't vote for the socialists either because its one cock-up after another, not to mention the lying and backstabbing. None of them have any credibility IMEO. As for your last statement about caring for the truth, that sort of snide comment is juvenile and actually unwarranted so blow it out your arse.

  • @uknowispeaksense - actually, the last comment wasn't intended at all to be snide.

I'm sure you are aware that there are plenty of people out there who like to present facts, but never back them up.

And there are plenty of others who when presented with the facts, choose to ignore them.

It's the internet - everyone is right.

  • @uknowispeaksense - I agree about the "no-one to vote for".

The current list of politicians is somewhat disappointing - it's more of a case of "who don't I want to vote for" rather than "who do I want to vote for".

Katter seemed like a good choice for about 2 minutes - he's a little too crazy for my liking (and yet, he makes sense on some policies, and other policies he's completely nuts).

    Bring back Turnbull I say.

  • @phonytonyabbott Turnbull is to much of a forward thinker for this Conservative opposition. I don't know how they can call themselves the Liberal party these days. Turnbull was close to joining labor back in the mid 90s. What a shame, would of made a good labor leader compared to what where stuck with now. Look out for Cameron Clyne CEO of NAB. Read somewhere that he could join the labor party after he finishes at NAB.

  • @phonytonyabbott Mate I just moved south from FNQ. Believe me, Katter is completely off his rocker but the locals up there love him, but then those that do also love driving around in big utes with big dogs in big dog cages and big balls hanging from the towbar.

Turnbull woould seem the best of a bad bunch.

  • wyatt thinks he received a cheap shot? even though his stupid question was even cheaper? nothing worse than a young liberal. diaf wyatt oh WAIT he can't handle the heat

  • fuck labour at least liberal didnt change all this shit and turn our country into a nanny state, biggest mistake of my life voting for kevin rudd never again

  • @ainsleywainsley What do you think makes Australia a 'nanny state'?

  • @FriendsOfNone1)Plain packaging of cigarettes,2) reasonable cause to search you if you are in a 'designated area' not needed by police,3)$1000 fine for carrying a knife( handy in car incase of the worst and belt needs to be cut),4)No opt-out rule for Australian airport full body scanners,5) Bongs outlawed (youth will now turn to smoking through dangerous plastic bottles instead)6) $150+ fines for no helmet while on a bike,7)Swearing made a fineable offence. Thats all i can fit in this comment

  • @ainsleywainsley - Helmets are a state law. So is swearing. So is the carrying a knife law. So is the "bong law".

If your solution is that Governments should not introduce laws, what is the alternative?

    Anarchy? No laws?

Governments - Liberal, Labor or whatever introduce laws for a reason.

We may not always agree with them, but they are there for a reason.

For example, it was a State Liberal Government that first introduced a law requiring seat belts to be used in cars where fitted.

  • So, now is 2012 and there is NO budget surplus. And there will be NONE!

  • Well for the most part Swan isn't really answering his question to begin with just having a go at him while also talking about his budget plans.

  • Like how he goes "Treasurer" just like some kid goes "Ms. *insert teachers name*" or "Mum".

And then theres the smirk on his face thinking 'Ha ha, I'm scrutinising the government with my shit question', only for it to be wiped off by Swan's response. Dumb question gets a dumb answer.

  • didnt sound like he knew what he was talking about

  • FROM CANADA: What the hell is up with the minister's answer? He just seems to be speaking giberish until the very end when he finally answers the question. And also, the speaker seems just plaun out RUDE. How does he command respect from MPs when he is interrupting them like that?

  • It shows us just how incompetent and moronic the Australian Liars Party is when a twenty year old destroys them with a simple question. Well done that man!

  • That Young Fellow should be moved

from the back to the front bench.

  • I was going to run for parliament, then I took an arrow to the knee

  • @stupididiot61 hahahaha

  • @stupididiot61 I once put nerdy comments on Youtube.... then i took knowledge to the brain.

  • @pageyzchillin haha good one

  • What a dickhead this little pint-sized fart is .. & here he is .. actually sitting as a peoples' rep in the most important house in the country .. heaven help us ...

  • incidentally, how many labor governments have there been in this twerp's lifetime? one?

  • can't stand this little shit

  • The real answer... Because we can fool all those brain dead morons who vote for us that we champion the working class, even if we do all agree on a 40% pay rise for ourselves.

  • "We will come back to surplus in 2013". ICB. wayne swan pwned him. No, wayne swan porned the people of Australia.

  • what an unintelligent question. wayne swan pwned him

  • Comment removed

  • lol, this dude

  • When the title said "Wyatt Roy best question" I was hoping that I would finally see evidence that despite his youth he is an intelligent person who is worthy of the office he was elected to. This is such an immature, near-sighted question; something I would expect to hear from a 14-year-old in a middle school debate, not a federal MP.

  • I don't know, Wyatt. Maybe it was because the Japanese economic bubble burst in the early 90s, as well as the Global Financial Crisis of 07. I may not vote Labor, but is this little shit really blaming Labor for acting in a way that is more economically responsible in a recession, that is, going into deficit?

  • @smallral4 Keynsianism = Wrong

  • @MrAgentGreeny what qualifies you to make such grand statements?

  • @j0hnb0wman Because Austrian Economics is unquestionably the way to go.

  • @MrAgentGreeny geez you'd be in the minority there, thats a pretty dead school of economics, at business school they dont even teach it these days, Milton Friedman and Adam Smith were for free markets so is that similar? Im not sure what the answer is but I dont get Australians, they say they want a true free market, employer flexibility ect, then when the banks lay off a few people in Oz they go all left wing. Dumbest humans on earth i swear.

  • @j0hnb0wman everyone wants a free market till they lose their job haha

  • I wonder how many people actually realise that.... Austrian is what they need to use and they might start to understand what is going on.

  • Little fags only question, and someone else told him to say it

  • @Chuditch60 Hey don't have a go at him, I'm 23 and I wish I had a job where I get paid a shitload to sit on my ass on the backbench, and make opportunistic questions about stuff I don't understand

  • @bigswano Im sorry u have no job, but your sticking up for the reason u dont!

You think he give a shit about u, he only gives a shit about corporate business, fat rich cunts and getting into power.

His party doesn’t even want to tax mining? or tax carbon? seems they don't give a shit about the future and what those choices mean for our kids, like U and your kids?

It’s not Toy Twatt? I mean Roy Wyatt i hate of, but what he stands for.

Our liberal leaders are, smart, greedy & deceitful.

  • @Chuditch60 he loves that question, but he probably did think of it himself. He did manage to get elected.

  • Just look at the top comments up there ^. wakeup2thelies you have failed, miserably lol!

  • As for ruining the country, Keating did well to clean up the mess that... hmmm, who was that treasurer under Malcolm Fraser... you guessed it! John Howard lol!

  • Comment removed

  • @Firefly0100 At least he didn't lose his own seat, how embarrassing... fruitcake lol.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • GST, highest taxing legislation ever!! Damn you're an idiot Firefly. Then you wonder why everyone is taking the absolute mickey out of you.

  • I suppose losing his own seat made up for some of the deceitful acts he did. Lol! The second pm ever to lose his own seat. Awesome legacy Howard hahahaha.

  • I repeat, neocon stooge, your loser party did nothing for 11 years except threaten everyone working or not... Coward brought in the gst, (which was a labor idea originally), he squandered money and did sweet fuck all regarding infrastructure, hospitals etc... he also supported warmongering... invading countries for their resources, yeah, great pm Johnny Coward was, not!

  • Comment removed

  • @Firefly0100 Whatever loser, your precious little party wouldn't give a flying fuck about you. They prey on deadbeats like you, your probably some middle class fool who thinks he's somebody hey? As for spending money on infrastructure? Less tax? Are you retarded fella? Don't make me laugh now...
