One of my favorite songs of all time - stumbled upon it years ago by accident. Can anybody help with a translation though? Never found out what it's about.
Well, I suppose that the Silent City might be just any city on earth... And I guess that prayer-like verses are directed to the city itself, especially the final one: "Do not turn Thine face away from me"...
Wonderful song, I really like it and listen to it round around...
Very interesting to combine macedonian language with liturgical old slavic.
Please, what is the true meaning of the text? Am I right with the translation Gradot = the town? Who or what is the mute Town? Who is adressed with the prayer and the repeated acclamation "Listen to me"?
@VelkyInkvizitor The part of the lyrics that is on Old Slavonic are part of a common Orthodox prayer (I should check this, but might be even a part of a Psalm)... which was common for Mizar at the time

The City is mute (silent,dumb)
to my questions (inquiries)
The City is mute (silent,dumb)
to my shouts (screams, cries or cry outs)
Behold (glance at)
my pale face
my smile
colder than frost
