aoc 'countries' Stygia, Cimmeria, Aquilonia...stygia is made of 3 zones, aquilonia and cimmeria have more but world size is about 20% of wow's world size i believe...(havent played wow that much)...

Havn't played AoC yet so I wouldn't know how long that would be, sure looks big though :) Though I've heard you can only explore 3 areas? :( Perhaps later expansions will open other areas? :]

This game was unfortunately a failure. the graphics will make the sieges fail. why? because its to good, people have 15 fps when they run alone. Imagine 100 people in one spot. The city building sucks, aint that special as you thought it was gonna be. world pvp = ganking. they will add powerpoints, which means that you will have to grind mobs and shit at lvl 80. grinding is the most annoying thing of them all. 50 - 80 = all grinding. epic fail by funcom, sorry. I cancelled my subscription today.

It's supposed to be representative. People didn't always have exactly calculated maps. They would just draw them where they visually thought that it should be. Maps of old were done this way. Old Greek maps only contained parts of the Med Sea, Persia, and Egypt.
Howard was going for a 'believable' look for an ancient time. That's all. :)

He makes it quite clear in his essay on the subject that his alternative history is purely a work of fiction and nothing more.
Duh. If you took the time to actually read about Hyboria, you'd know its how the world looked before the ice age. Ever wondered why there's humans everywhere? That's because the continents in the beginning was not separated by ocean - you could walk from America to Australia.
The Hyboria map is as the world once was, although i doubt there was civilization and demonic magics ;)

IF you find a lot of maps of Hyboria this close to release i think its the one they are going to use..It's not like they would change the whole world.
To make an comparison, Hyboria is about 1/3rd the size of Azeroth, if you've played wow.

In Age of Conan the game you wont be able to cross the whole map like that only Cimmeria, Aquilonia, Stygia etc.

Duh. If you took the time to actually read about Hyboria, you'd know its how the world looked before the ice age. Ever wondered why there's humans everywhere? That's because the continents in the beginning was not separated by ocean - you could walk from America to Australia.
The Hyboria map is as the world once was, although i doubt there was civilization and demonic magics ;)

Thank you dude!! i was already on my way to write comment "it is suppose to look like the real world..." you dont even need to read the lore to know how the real world looked like millions of years ago and by seeing the similaritys its kinda logic what their idea was..

This is not the ingame map and it will not go as far as Zamora (the desert part seperated by that long mountain)
Hopefully the rest of the map will be included in later expansions - I want to go to asia :D

THe Hyborian map and it does not look like the real world map...at all. Nvm Check google for pics instead there is much better maps than this one..

uhm yes it does.. not the whole world map. just afrika, asian and europe. im not sure if this is the map they are going to use. I found this on a aoc site. and you can also find it on google, and alot of other maps that are more detailed.
