  • If anyone has any REAL knowledge of Church history, they would see that St. Paul was talking about martyrdom when he references "baptisms for the dead" to the Corinthian church. I know that Mormons prattle on about an imaginary great apostasy which utterly wiped out ALL knowledge of a supposedly proto-mormon church founded by the Apostles. Anyone w/ the slightest knowledge of the early Church finds this pathetic & laughable.

  • @VictorLepanto agread

  • Did you know that the apostles in the OLD world practiced Baptisms for the dead?

The Macceans performed the baptisms for the dead until the apostate Rome ordered it stopped.

  • Excellent video. Did Mormonanswerman ever respond to this?

  • He did not. The only responses I have received either publicly or privately are the ones you see above.

  • I am no way trying to bash you, but what religion do you belong to? I am just curious, because it is strange to see someone love the Book of Mormon but not belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • I apologize, I didn't see this comment before. I am a Bible and Book of Mormon believing Christian. I am currently debating between the RLDS Restoration Branches and the Church of Christ (Temple Lot) as to which church to officially associate myself with.

  • The spirit of the Lord went with the current Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. It is evident for we started with six members in April, 1830 to 13.5 million in less than 200 years.

The RLDS are still just a small gnat of a sect that hasn't hardly grown at all.

  • Well, I am sure he doesn't mean that as an insult, but as a Mormon I can say that if you truly have a testimony of the Book of Mormon you have a testimony of Joseph Smith, and if you have a testimony of him you have one of the church he established as a commandment from God. That church still exists today. Please pray and ask of God, for he will surely answer your prayers.

  • @pilottim79: You might find this hard to understand but the world realy doesn't care about YOUR testimony. Can't you see that is utterly vacuous sentimental subjectivism? What does it matter if you get a feeling when you read a book? How does your feeling while reading a book demonstrate the objective truth of that book?

The real question is, is the BoM OBJECTIVELY a real document of Precolumbian civilisation, or is it a 19th cent. fraud. Objectively it is an obvious fraud.

  • No problem.

I too love the Book of Mormon, which is why I use it. And just because folks have some disagreements doesn't mean they can't show respect in their exchanges.

  • while I appreciate your demeanor and desire to read from a book I love, I can not always connect your dots.

However, thank you for being civilized and at the same time forthright.
