@MSUspartan54 ; it happens whenever I create downward pressure on the lower ball joint/control arms, regardless if the wheel is straight or turned... it sounds like yours is in the early stages of going out since the control arm is stressed a little more when turning
fuck i have the exact same thing. going to dealer service thursday. is there a way temporarily oil or lube it up somehow at least untill i go there it wont make sound? i cant even drive on streets its embarrassing
No, once it leaks, all the spray lube won't help. Just roll up the windows and you won't hear a thing. People will just think you have squeaky brakes :\
Dog, thanks for putting vid up... U got ball joint changed like u recommended... And i'm rolling like a champ again.. Mechanic charged $300...NO MORE SQUEAKING lol
Dog... My shit doing same thing, my mechanic told me its the lower control are inwhich ball joints are included... I thought it was 22's... But I hit a bigass pothole!!
22's probably contributed to the cause, but I would try changing out the lower ball joint before changing the control arm. What could have easily happened is that when you hit the pot hole, it cracked the ball joint and all the fluid leaked out, which is why you are hearing all the squeaking noise.
Sorry for not being a little more specific in my response. Yes, the issue with my car was a defective/leaking lower ball joint. Bought a new, heavy duty lower ball joint for about $45 (oem was about $35) and ball joint press from harbor freight for about $20 (you can prob rent this tool from autozone or kragens). From my DIY experience, a impact wrench makes this job a piece of cake. If you don't have one, a cheater bar is very effective as well, it just takes a little more work and time.
Yup, as it turns out, it was a defective ball joint on that axle. It cost me less than $50 for parts and a few man hrs to put in the new part. Now I don't have to hide my face as I drive through town.
@mmgrad Mine is doing the exact same on my 2001 S500. It's so annoying and I'm going bonkers trying to figure out. Was it the lower ball joint? That's what I'm leaning towards.

Sure, its the joint, ittle probably cost you about 40 dollars, the cause may be that you hit the suspension a little hard and the joint broke and let out all the oil, which made it dry, dont worry :) nothing costly
does it make the noise when you turn mine does it when pushing down and tuning the wheel
