The majority of their personnel are former U.S mil guys, they're often trained to the caliber of special forces, and they offer some extra manpower at a time when our military is stretched thin. My father lives by there. He isn't too happy about it. It's the idiot planning committee that has been paid off and is in favor of "job$". This does nothing to enhance the community. The 60 jobs he is talking about are imports from people outside the local community, not locals. It's imorral and wrong. We have the Army, National Gaurd and Civil defense to take care of this shit. This is a legacy of Bush that must be prevented.

No offense friend, but I've been around the US and the world myself to know that soldiers and policemen aren't exactly the best diplomats and law-abiding people. The fact that Blackwater is above-the-law overseas scares the hell out of me knowing that they can be deployed in the USA... I know someone who "serves" in Blackwater and even though he's a hell of an American, I sure as hell wouldn't trust him alone with my niece...

Look, Im not saying all these guys are perfect. Would you trust your niece in LA, PHX, or any other major metropolitan area? Hell no you wouldnt. I can speak from personal experience that 99.9% of all cops are good people. Fire fighters are the ones you have to look out for, LOL!

LOL... OK I see what you are saying. My biggest concern and one I should have concerned in my first post is the existence of a private army in general. As an ancient historian, I know the "mercenary" groups, no matter their intentions have always tended to be a major threat. As Blackwater has tended to be above the law overseas, what if they were deployed in America after a major accident, or hired as a personal bodyguard to a President (regardless of party lines) who wants a few more terms...

We can what if anything to death all day long. I personally do not react emotionally to anything. Remember, there were many mercenaries on both sides in the Revolutionary war. Have you ever lived next to a military base? What does the military teach to kill, and thats ok. Remember, Governments have murdered millions of their citizenry, Stalin, Hitler and so-on. I would worry about radical governments before a few contractors.

Friend, yes I do tend to be emotional about certain issues, just my way I suppose. Yes, I've lived near Ft Lewis in Tacoma as well as several others on Okinawa. I understand your point about radical governments, but I would also stress that "radical" is a very relative term... and most assuredly not one that can be applied to any particular political ideology or party... there are quite a few in Iraq that would argue this mercenary army has been in the hands of such a "radical" government...
