That is a stupid assumption, "if you are good you are good no matter where you are" you would have to define what you consider good because you can have great technique and solid flow and possibly evem power it will mean your a good martial artist it some eyes but it doesn't mean you can protect yourself if you don't have the right mind set. you train to make contact you might be a great point sparring competitor but trainning to stretch necks is how you learn to defend yourself.

Wayne Otto is the man. It's just a pity there aren't more karate-ka as stylish to watch as him. Karate would probably have made it into the Olympics and out of minority sport status. I can't speak though, I've been sitting on my arse drinking beer for 4 years now:)

in my opinion, its the best type of fightin...cos there's much less chance than gettin seriously injured than other combat sports.

Wayne Otto is the man. It's just a pity there aren't more karate-ka as stylish to watch as him. Karate would probably have made it into the Olympics and out of minority sport status. I can't speak though, I've been sitting on my arse drinking beer for 4 years now:)
