  • From what I read, this recording was made in 1948.

  • @sheltv100 Eddy originally recorded it in 1948, but this is a "stereo version" recorded much later.

  • @Nocaro Right, Stereo become more common in the 1950's. Not to mention if you download a 1950's stereo hi-fi recording on your i-pod or i-phone, it can still take up a good amount of disk space.

  • Thanks for your write up on this song. I have Slim Whitman's version but had difficulty finding other versions on YouTube. There's nobody like Eddy Arnold for songs like this.

  • Yeah Baby ... you can always sing to me. You dashing old Texan!

  • They played this song in the movie Ray and Ray Charles' character(Jamie Foxx) was the only one who could sing it and remembered the words.

  • You're feeling lonely you're feeling BLUE

  • haha I'm just goin thru a music book called, 'Those Wonderful Years 1920-1940'

guess this one is worth learning on piano :)

  • This was one of the songs on an 8-track tape that my parents, sisters and I used to listen to on long trips in the station wagon back in 1978...

  • I love listening to Eddie, ANYTIME! He was great.

  • Emmett Miller recorded this in 1928, and his version virtually disappeared until the 70s, despite influencing several singers including Eddy, Hank Williams, Tommy Duncan. It can be heard on the Columbia Historic Edition CD "Minstrel Man From Georgia", sadly out of print but findable secondhand.

  • Alongside with Hank Wliiams sr, and Marty Robbins, the 3 big country voices

  • @HowardWiggins3

I agree completely. Roy Wiggins created the Eddy Arnold country sound all us old timers love. Without little Roy it wasn't Eddy Arnold.

  • Terrific recording from the 'baby boomer' years of the 50's & 60's ~ brings back some good memories ~ Rest In PEACE Eddy Arnold~!

  • Not the same without Little Roy Wiggins on the Steel Guitar.

  • thank you

  • There are so many great songs such as this one is that I wish they could be brought back by some of the "new" country artists. So much today is forgettable and it's a shame that the quality of many of the songs just doesn't enrich the soul or give a great feeling of honest and caring emotion. Our two country stations here do play some of the oldies but they do limit just how old the music is. Thanks again for this great classic. it makes me feel so good to listen to and dance to this. -Paula

  • No one sounds like Eddy - a national treasure

  • A voice as smooth as an cool RC Cola in August !

  • Great work on the video, my friend

  • There is one thing in life that I have never heard. I have never heard a song sung by Eddy Arnold that I did not love.

  • Back in High School, we all sang it. Thanks.

  • WOW !!! Very lovely voice

AWESOME song !! thanks for uploading

  • know this song by dean martin, never knew it was so much older....fab ,thanks

  • @sammydavisjnrjnr Eddie Fisher had the big hit with this one, also available on youtube. I don't think Dean ever recorded this song. Guess you are a big fan of Everything Is Illuminated and the seeing eye bitch. Great movie.

  • @CarlDuke Grandfather, who is certified respectfully says Dino singing Anytime is on YT, He says you should watch, its premium!

  • @sammydavisjnrjnr Well you were correct on that one, and Dean is certainly premium. You might enjoy the version by Eddie Fisher also availaable on youtube. And there is also a duet between Dean and Eddie divided over two videos that is very good. Martin and Fisher were friendly and enjoyed each other's singing. And Dean also has Eddy Arnold as a guest on his TV show.

  • Wow - what a sexy voice. Eddy is fabulous. He never sang a song I haven' t liked. Eddy was such a classy entertainer. His style is unforgettable. He had so many hits and so many songs he made famous have been sung by other great talents. This one here is pure gold. Thank you for posting this treasure - Paula

  • Wonderful! Thanks!!
