What a beautiful job they did on this. The music is haunting, every scene tells a story, and the effect on me is always the same. I'm filled with immense pride, gratefulness and humility every time I see it. Whatever Canada has today, it's because of these men and women, and thousands more like them.
Between the music, and the footage, its incredibly humbling to watch, and always fills me with an indescribable sense of pride, to know I'm part of something so much larger then myself.
I never feel more proud to be a soldier, and more honored to serve, then I do on Remembrance Day.
Maybe one of these days I'll be able to watch it without the lump in my throat and the tears in my eyes too... one day....

Only the stupid and economically desperate would ever consider joining up in the Canadian forces. Little boys as young as 18 being given a weapon and told to kill. Can't even buy a beer yet in a bar but can kill.
Canada is destroying everything it ever had. SHAME A war started by a lie!!!!!!!!
Our Canadians are fighting and giving their lives, how dare you not honour them, and the sacrifice they are making. Even if you disagree with them fighting, you dishonour the memory of those who have fallen in the aid and defense of others.
Please keep your liberal pacifist veiws to politics, and honour the lives of those who give them to help others.
And it does not take away from the memory of the fallen from past wars. That sacrifice could not be diminished.
but there is honour in giving ones life and standing up against opression.
You think I am brainwashed? Media rips Canadian soldiers apart, if I was brainwashed I would go along with that, instead I know Canadian soldiers, and I can assure you that what they are doing is needed and vital.
are you kidding me man your more brainwashed than anyone... what basis do you have for your ideas? how do you know what the people of Afghanistan think?
I feel the same way too, Ive lived here long enough to call it home, No matter where I might go, Might it be Australia, Japan, France, Germany, Holland, Canada will always be my home
This is an awesome video - like so many of this sort. What truly saddens me is how so many people treat Rememberance Day as nothing more than a "day off". As an educator I constantly work to promote the importance of this day. Congratulations to all who do the same. Especially those gifted enough to be able to put their words and thoughts into such powerful commemerative pieces.
the ad with the ontario liscense plates is really sad as well....i wish someone could load it on youtube..i cant find it..the music to that ad is just haunting powerful. We will always remember.
This makes me cry. I wish someone would also load the ad from Ontario re: license plates. That ad really makes me cry and think of my dad - especially when they march as young men and then as old men - I cry just thinking about it.
I well up every time this commercial comes on, so powerful

Connecting the past with the Canadians dying for nothing overseas today diminishes the reasons we fought then.
For a real hero or WWII check out "Ron Waterman" on facebook

I'am not a "liberal" nor am I a "pacifist".
Canadians are not in Afganistan to "help others". You show how brainwashed you are.
There is no honour in torture.
There is no honour in killing.
Canadians are being killed for nothing.
What a waste and they're mostly under 20 years old.
Now that is terrible, young men who haven't had a chance to live. They are not "giving their lives" They are throwing them away.
