  • @bigmrclean

yea, but its not all titanium etc.. Which is "sophistication" in my mind..

google "1500 hp evo", click the first link, then click on the bimmer forums link in the first post..

    now THATS engine Sophistication..

Ti crank, Billet Ti con rods, CuBe valve seats etc..

I still love the pro stock cars, and they are hella faster.. But i gotta love the sophistication of that EVO build..

  • @Wszachta naw theres more work in these trust me people who dont build them dont know what goes in to a prostock motor and a top fuel is even more "sophisticated" than this

  • Pro stock engines are some of the most sophisticated engines in the world.....Listen to this sucker and man you can hear why!!!!! GIMME A THUMBS UP IF YOU LOVE THIS STUFF AS MUCH AS I DO!!!!!!! I'M A GEAR HEAD!

  • @bigmrclean

Im def a gearhead but correct me if im wrong.. Dont most pro stock cars run old big block engines? How is that the most sophisticated engine when it was designed like 40 years ago? Check out some f1 shit.. thats sophistication. This is just raw power, which BTW is my fav :)

  • @Wszachta The design of the big block chevy is very old. So is a blown Hemi and the fuel cars still run that same old design. All these blocks are straight from the maker. These engines are making over 3 horsepower an inch. They spend over 300 hours on a cylinder head which by the way you won't find unless it is old technology. 500 inches turning 10,500 RPM is amazing alone. They run well over an inch of valve lift..Just amazing.

  • sounds good but allen johnson mopar is the best pro stocker ever sorry jeg

  • @tigerman6911 lol never greg anderson and jason line have the best pro stock cars in the world jason line actually is much smarter than these spectators know

  • sounds good but billy gliddens car sounds much better

  • nothin makes your dick harder than hearing this :)

  • I just love the sound of a pro stock engine!

  • how much HP does one of these car have?

  • Roughly 1500...give or take a few. Quite impressive....

  • 2350Ib car and the hemis put out about 1350hp (not sure if this is at the wheels) and a Big chevy puts out about 1280, give or take.

  • so you think there is 70 hp difference between those engines??? No way. and they make about 1440 -1460 hp @ 9750 rpm .

  • There's no deffinite numbers. Ive heard anywhere from 12 - 1300hp. Steve shmidt racing had a 500cid chevy that claimed 1280, flywheel im assuming. Then he had a 500cid hemi that put out a claimed 1350. They must have hemi handicaps or something cause steve shmidt is a reputable builder.

  • انا زامط عليكم يحمير تعالو الامارات و انشدو عن واحد حسن بوشنب و هم بيدلونكم

  • i love jeg. he's (and larry dixon) is the most down to earth drag racer there is.

  • Fuck Larry Dixon...and Greg Anderson...and the Pedragons...

  • lol....popcorn fightin together

  • Stupid!!!It's a JEGS not a jeg

  • LOL you noob. Ever hear of Jeg Coughlin and Jeg Coughlin Jr? Jeg founded JEGS in 1960 as a small speed shop and it went from there. Look up the history of JEGS. It's on their website.

  • @TroutButter I went to school with all 4 Coughlin brothers. Troy and I were in the same grade. SUPER bunch of of guys. Glad to see them doing so well.

I miss the Pro Stock trucks that Mike and John used to race.

Those were really fun to watch! 355 cubic in. small blocks running in the low 7's!!!!

  • @CSXer kinda like Bill jenkins and his 327

  • @ACHEESEDANISH00 Grumpy's TOY! 327 Vega! I remember it well!

It's nice to see Troy Coughlin is running a Pro-Mod these days. We went to school together and had a bunch of fun back in the day!!!

  • Your a fucking retard.

  • music... sweeeet music

  • The IHRA guys rarely cut .00 lights though. They may be quicker, but they cant drive with Jeg Coughlin or Mike Edwards! We've seen it time and time again. Its also damn impressive to see a sub 500ci., naturally aspirated engine put out the horsepower they make

  • music to my ears

  • got damit that cam hit to hard sound like popcorn fightin together

  • back in the day i think about 1986, buddy ingersoll scared the pants off of these ihra mountain motor pro stock teams with his 238 cubic inch twin turbo v6,almost beating bob glidden in the final with his 800 cubic inch ford, quite a few teams went to the ihra officials and eventually had him and his buick gn banned so much for your mountain motors also if the nhra were to have the same rules as ihra the nhra teams would dominate pro stock, their top fuel dragsters, funny cars are the fastest

  • If that Buick was Naturally Aspirated I'd be impressed. You're comparing TURBOCHARGED to N/A. Of course its gonna run with the bigger motors since he was probably running 50+ lbs of boost.

  • I like NHRA pro stocks And IHRA but IHRA is runnins 6.20's At 220 plus NHRA Are just now running 6.50's 210 IHRA ran that years ago. With the R&D they put in 500 cub cars they should bump them up to 600. I belive that would get an IHRA prostock A run for they money.

  • ihra also uses 700ci motors when nhra prostock uses 500ci motors with weight restrictions.

  • More like 800 plus with the IHRA pro stocks lot of them usin hemi syle heads some on chevys . and both IHRA and NHRA cars weigh in at 2350 pound with driver on board

  • its not been but so long ago that IHRA pro stockers caught up with NHRA's pro stockers ET's ,, its all now who has the most money ,, the sport is dead

  • I miss the days of high winding small block pro stockers , gimme a 327 winding 9500

  • Well, the days of high winding big blocks are here. I'd rather have a big block that spins 9500-10000 over a 327 anyday....

  • big blocks should run good ,, when u hear a screaming fast small block blister a pass ,u know its special ,gimme the days of modifed production 292 cu in motors that left the line at 11,000 and shifted at 10,000,, seems like everything is extreme now , out of reach and out of touch , i think the powers that be haven't kept things the way they should , but thats me ,, costs are so crazy ,, its not who is the best its who has the most money, but maybe the best keep digging for more money ??

  • they still have super stock classes and other smaller classes in NHRA you can enter. Like car craft magazine said acouple issues ago. If you were creative enough, you could approach a GM dealer and get a drag race ready new camaro. They already do that with mustangs and challengers again.

  • i love norwalk, i cant wait till opening day

  • what makes it have that lovely idle.

  • big motor huge one throat per cylinder carburetors and a very aggressive cam

  • Prices you will get are all relative. Not just the cost of the car, but all the overhead for R+D is really takes a big part of the budget.

  • nhra is only allowed to run up to 500ci motors, your thinkin of ihra which are allowed up to 800+ cubic inch mountain motors

  • car will cost $80,000 dollars & engine will

    cost you $80,000 dollars easy.

  • how about the cars rolling will cost about $150,000-$200,000

  • how much did it cost to build that car

  • engine specs please.

  • well pro stock in the NHRA are allow up to a 800 CI motor,, but there all motor,, no supercharger like the top fuel or funny cars,, that allowed up to a 500ci motor

  • Pro Stock is 500ci. So is Top Fuel. Difference with top fuel is they get nitro methane and superchargers. Pro stock gets just 500ci NA with Methonal.

  • They run race gas not methanol.

  • ihra is 800 c.i.mountain motors, half a second quicker.baddest sounding naturally aspirated engine in the world

  • For one, IHRA mountain motors are 300 inches bigger, so a half second isn't that great to me. Not very impressive in my book. Second, NHRA pro stock motors are more refined and cost a bunch more to purchase. You can get a mountain motor for about 80K vs NHRA pro stock for 250K. That's why the inches are so much bigger in IHRA so they can compete.

  • a motor aint a quarter mil. maybe with car and all.

  • Good luck gettin specs for one of these. These guys would eat their young before they divulge the secrets of there power plant.

  • If I ever hit the lottery im going to have a fleet of Pro Stocker's.

  • Like a symphony

  • I LOVE IT
