  • Ross?? Haha! Im looking around at a bunch of different pedals and I find you on YouTube!

I used to go to church with you. I'm Tommy. I used to be really good friends with Seth Leonard and James and everybody. Ha. Small world.

  • The RP1000 sounds really good. Much better tone in this 'duel'. But I've heard Pod's that have much better tones than what you brought out of it. I guess it's all in the know how with different modelers. Great playing by the way!

  • Pod yeah my pedalboard is pod xt live x2 :)

  • Very nice tone man.

  • i prepare for HD POD!!

  • ...what you mean about a 4 cables connection? maybe its because of that different use... possibly a reason for difference in sound quality you have from podxt

  • @RythmTR The RP1000 has an input from the guitar with output to the input on the amp, and it also has a separate effects loop that goes into the effects loop on your amp. This is the feature, in my opinion that makes the RP1000 completely awesome. You can separate which effects go before your preamp and which come after. If you don't understand what I'm saying, you have some things to learn.

  • tone feels like plastic crap!? I dont want to know your opinion about behringer products :P

  • Now you gotta try the POD HD. =D

  • digitech wins the line 6 did sound thin and plasticcy

  • The Pod sounds like shit.

  • Zoom is the worst, it sounds midi, plastic and feels like robot.

  • I agree 100%

Digitech RP all the way IMHO

  • I'll check it out...thanks...

  • Hi! Singtall

I bought the Digitech RP 1000 just few days ago.I'm still on the process of learning how to use all the patches. I feel that there's more treble.

Can you help me on how can I get the tone of Joe Satriani..

  • @cactus8870 did you download any of the presets i posted at the digitech site? there are many presets that will get you close.

  • Comment removed

  • Digitech is Made In The USA!!! Digitech was around BEFORE that other Brand made in China!

  • As a long-time Pod XT Pro owner (since 2005), I have to say that I agree with you. The Digitech sounds MUCH, MUCH better. I'm going to be picking up an RP1000.

  • Digitech sounded a lot more natural and not so buzzy on the distortion.

  • @BeTheAwakened LOL u gota be shitting meh have you seen the rating for the POD vs digitech go loook if u have eyes lmfao.....o plus digitech has more sellouts than the POD..........so idk where ur coming from...

  • are they running into the clean channel of your amp?

  • @ivncdo0809 nope. running into the effects return so that they both benefit from a tube power amp section, but no tone controls.

  • it's great that you guys like your pods, but seriously, while they are great multi fx units, the digitech rips them apart in almost every way. if you have the cash, get the digitech.

  • @BeTheAwakened yeah...whatever tone meister. post a video of your brilliant digitech killing tones and see what kind of response you get. hehe.

  • do you think you could send me the patch you used for the rp1000?

  • @bahamutod all of my patches are posted at the digitech forum. just look for patches by singtall

  • From the video to me it sounds like the Digitech presets simply have more mids in them... Is it that much difference in feel and play? Did you tweak the settings, or are these the factory presets?

  • @laczkotomi

the settings were tweaked to sound their best. i have tons of experience doing this and the digitech modeling was simple better to me.

  • pod wins. it will always win to me. haha

  • @bianchiniman to each his own. whatever tone works for you...go for it. but to say pod ALWAYS wins is just tonal retardation.

  • @singtall lol

  • The effect/OD/dist pedal models on the RP1000 also sounded like the real thing, the X3 Live effects sounded nothing like the originals. The RP1000 all the way!!!!!

  • I have tried the RP1000 and the POD X3 live in live playing situations using the unit as my main sound running directly into the PA system and the RP 1000 blows the X3 Live away. RP1000 has way better modelled sounds, Marshall sounds like marshall, Vox sounds like Vox, Fender sounds like Fender... The POD sounds sounded nothing like the amp it was supposed to be modelling. I am getting another RP1000 this week.

  • why did you hook them up diferently? whats the 4 cable method?

  • @zapz2101 they are in effect hooked the same. with the 4CM i can use the blackstar's preamp tone if i want to, but in this case i just put modeler against modeler using the amp's return so you only hear the amp model/tube power and speakers.

  • Sorry but the blackstar is inadequate for such comparisons...better off direct!

  • @81giorikas the blackstar is perfect for comparison since this is how i'm using it. if you don't like running into an amp...don't.

  • Excellent tone, man. Just ordered an RP1000. Had a 500 and let it go but I won't make the same mistake with the 1000!

    God bless!

  • RP1000 is better for raw tone. the x3 is good if you want to use two sounds at once, but i'd rather the rp1000.

  • digitech rp1000 or pod x3 live???

  • I have a pod x3 live, i have used boss's multieffect pedals and digitech's and I have to say digitech is tha king

  • which is better man?thankx!

  • @dennis6666666666 on the video i said the pod sounded like plastic, that's not a good thing. FOR ME...the rp1000 smokes the pod. but go with the one that sounds best TO YOU.

  • Really nice comparison. Thanks a lot.

  • singtall I have observed many videos and aquired many of your patches to try. thanks for all your help and effort. I personally do not have the skill or time to devote to learning all this stuff and I am quite sure there are many others like me who thank you. Keep on keepin!!!! LOL If you could throw out an Iron Maiden for the song wrathchild, the part Adrian plays and the one Dave Murray plays would be alot of fun for me! Thanks again!!!!!

  • I think it's pretty widely agreed that in a lot of ways the XT was a step back, though I think the X3 is a step forward. Nice playing :).

  • no cabinet simulation used. i played through real speakers to test the amp modeling only.

  • Was the cab simulator on in the two units?

  • You're right man! It's plastic! Try if you can the Fractal Axe Fx Standard or Ultra, is the best digital amp simulation ever!

    Cheers!
