Am I ever happy you made this. I just re-read the story A Young Knight, and it brought me back to my childhood. I personally would run CtD in its own modern setting, without other supernaturals. And keep the other truely horrific lines, to the WoD. Mage and Werewolf are my fav, but Changleing is also very special to me.
@HeathbrookBadhwar I love that story. I also like the one in Inamine and the one in Autumn People. Autumn People is esp a sad book that hit home to me as I was entering my 30's.
@SleepingAncient Yes, re-reading it sent shivers down my spine. I totally understand why fans of the other games in the WoD line, don't think it fits in the WoD universe, personally I don't think it does, but I love the premise behind the game, nonetheless. The horror in Changeling is a very different type, and I think it can hit harder sometimes, as a storytelling medium; Disbelief and telling yourself what you see is all that there is, is a very terrifying fear, personally.
@SleepingAncient I haven't read the other two you mentioned, hopefully I will come across those books someday. Oh and if you do ever run a play-by-post or the like, do let me know, of lost or dreaming.
I think I'd agree with a lot of what you said in this review. I'm the only changeling player in our chronicles whether we're playing old or new world, which means a lot of the more lore based stuff for Changeling can get neglected, but ultimately it's always come down to setting/mood vs. system. Lost plays a lot smoother, but Dreaming has my heart. because of its grander feel. Less 'you're a victim now and forever the end' My fave game was probably our mix we did- OW setting with a NW build
Thanks for taking the time to do a video response, I always appreciate them. I understand what you are saying about enjoying the lightheartedness. I didn't & a lot of people didn't. I wanted gothic terrifying creatures. Tass should be rather hard to get.
White wolf's fiction was just terrible, all of it I read and I read a lot of it, it was all bad. Playing a vampire child is silly.Mages are the most powerful, by a huge amount in WOD. I didn't miss the point, I just didn't like it.

@heartoftherevolution I would really like to do that. The old world with new world rules.
