I love this song and have watched a few of her live performances and interviews and she comes across as quite shy and nervous so maybe its stagefright that makes her voice shake at the start but she becomes more confident towards the end.

@florna19 Maybe I am. Still, in the softer moments, I feel her voice lacks control. She definitely can sing in the louder moments, I won't deny that. Still, I do think she needs more training, as do the majority of singers who are famous today. There is no perfect singer; they all have their flaws and shortcomings. All of them can improve in some area. I am sorry if my statement appeared arrogant; I really do love Lana.

I think that her style is wonderful, and what is perceived as awkwardness works with the sadness of the songs. I just wished her actual singing voice, especially in the lower octives, was stronger. The recorded version sounds amazing; she just needs to get a little more training so that when she records an album, she doesn't need 'help'.

I am speechless when people say that she has a horrible singing voice. Her voice is beautiful, pure, and doesn't fit the typical mold. It seems like people are programmed to hate anything that isn't flawless. Lana reminds me that we are human and that is one of the reasons I love her lyrics AND her voice.
