Don't mean to get racial, but only a white person would stop their car, pull over, and film the area a tornado just hit seconds ago in a storm, a few yards away from where a tree just got shredded to bits.
regarding the danger of this video... even if for some reason the tornado wouldnt have killed them, debris flying at speeds at over 100 mph will easily kill someone. Amazing video... extremely unsafe though, glad everything turned out ok!
@AJTwister97 Thats crazy how small it was, yet how it tore that tree in half. So if I was outside, and that hit me, I might not be sucked up, but it would rip one of my arms off?
What an idiot driving into it with a kid with you. If it was a little stronger or moved a little different it could have maybe thrown a rock or tree through your window and killed you / your son.
@816bitRemake Thanks for your reply but, as to your remark that I stop hating, you're making an an untrue assumption. I don't know this man on a YT vid, so how can I possibly hate him? He remarked that there was a tornado ahead before he continued to drive into it. When you've survived an F5 as I did, hearing your house coming down around you, you might also feel it was stupid to endanger a child in such a way. All tornadoes are dangerous, and it is additionally stupid to assume otherwise.
Actually it shows pretty strong compared to the rather small size! You were pretty lucky, you know I always wonder who the heck would drive right into there... gutsy viking descendants obviously do ;-)
VILKEN JÄVLA HÄFTIG FILM!!!! Tack för att du lagt upp den! Jag har länge önskat att få se en tromb, men på avstånd! Jag hade helt allvarligt pissat på mig om jag var med i bilen! *Favorit*
@brfts2001 we do not get the kind of strong tornados as in USA, this video shows something really rare. Even if its weak for¨a tornado, in other countries.
Thats a large thundercloud over there and good rotation...come to think of it we had lots of bad storms in Sweden that year though strong tornadoes are very rare here even in bad storms .Never saw a tornado myself .They were lucky they didnt get hurt, kids and all in the car.
With that amount of updraft and the fact it was snapping 6 inch trees like toys, You were very lucky it didn't throw your car and kill you. No offense but that was just plain wreckless. All aside... It is a pretty amazing video. Thanks for sharing.
Obviously they must be rare there as you didn't do what you should have. I can only assume you don't know what to do around a tornado or even recognize when you are in danger of being hit by a tornado. Thank God you didn't get hurt.
@NionSkyFire2 I used to live in "Tornado Alley," in the US Midwest, and had to flee to the basement many times, though I never got to see a twister. Several touched down around our town, and two hit the outskirts, but I was too busy hiding to witness them. I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about that.
@terransage I think it is better that way, But in the USA those tornados are insane! f5 tornadoes and souch, i think you should be happy that u never saw a tornado, it might would have been the last thing u did... but they are awesome at distance to, so i don't know.
Looks like an F1 class Tornado touches the ground just as they pass. They were very lucky, not only to avoid get hurt but also to capture it on video! I'm from Sweden too by the way.
It sounded like the engine revved as the vehicles wheels were briefly lifted off the road, notice how quickly the tornado stripped that tree of all it's bark. The driver must of underestimated the strength of this tornado. Glad they survived their remarkable journey. Excellent video
That I believe was a suction vortice within the tornado and it did hit the car. I don't think people in Stockholm are familiar with tornadoes or the threat they pose.
No we're not. I live in Norway, next to Sweden, and we also have a rising number of Tornadoes, but we have no kind of security should a really strong one happen. Just the other day a powerfull storm cell passed over south-east Norway, it didn't drop, but pulled up a lot of trees and cut the power. Only a few times have there been confirmed funnels, but no, people are not really aware how dangerous they are.
Wow this shows how powerful tornadoes are. It was just a needle and it completely smashed that tree into bits. Like a free-roaming blender lol. Great video!
holy jesus! that was indeed a tiny rope F1, maybe even an F2. Size does not always equal strength.
2:58, when this little 10-foot wide tornado casually passes RIGHT FUCKING NEXT to the car, and bumps into a full sized tree and snaps the thing off at the trunk and keeps on going.
Far out! It destroyed the trees, imagine what it'd do to the car. Especially with a child in there, how could you see the debris flying in the air and continue driving T__T
Look how that extremely powerful but tiny tornado just instantly augured all the bark off of that tree and cut it in half. Unbelieveable. There is another vid of this same one..and it's a bit longer and a lot clearer. It shows the funnel continuing into the forest, instantly snapping large trees in half.
You might think this is powerful and scary, you should see what us americans have to deal with. Or course this is a F1, but they still cause damage....
you know to me tornado vids are like horror movies because i get a blanket wrap it around me and make a little hole so i can see and if it gets to bad i will close the hole *and then i will be stupid enough to watch the video/movie again*
We had a tornado here in Norway last summer, it destroyed a big forest field, and it destroyed some house in my town, I was in Charlotte, NC that time, and I was pissed off, that I missed it. :(
Can someone explain why this guy is driving around in these conditions...especially with such a young kid in the car? Do the swedes not understand how deadly these things are?
