  • america..an old bitch gone in the teeth..

  • wachurself the hydra magazine

  • I've always assumed he had Henri Gaudier-Brzeska in mind when he wrote this passage. Such a waste. And the greatest died first, ashamed to show fear.

  • chilling

  • Daring as never before, wastage as never before.

    Young blood and high blood,

    fair cheeks, and fine bodies;

    fortitude as never before

    frankness as never before,

disillusions as never told in the old days,

    hysterias, trench confessions,

    laughter out of dead bellies.

  • oh ezra "botched civilisation" the trenches turned to mud

    turned to lime colored blood

turned to drawing rooms in park lane

and churchill's paw on stalins mane

ezra---they botched it the first time

then went and did it again

  • he was about 10000x better poet than you

  • Yeah. Still, it's nice from wleming to try to pay him homage, no?

  • i suppose

  • breeeegs: although Churchill hated Stalin, I think Ezra would have been quite pleased with "churchill's paw on stalins mane". We should remember that Pound's classic "In a Station of the Metro" was originally 30 lines long. Like Pound did with the Waste Land, its all about cutting out the superfluous. Alot easier said then done and Ezra excelled at that (and getting his 'pretentious' on) like few others who have lived.
