No, the old Alliance was also called simply the Alliance. It was championed by King Terenas of Lordaeron after the fall of Stormwind (aka Warcraft I) thus it was called the Alliance of Lordaeron.

Pretending the new horde is "new" is hyporcisy, since they honor the mass-murderers that came before them and are still following their old ways.
