I bought the game after watching this video. It's an interesting concept, but the utter lack of a tutorial beyond some vague advice is a major point-loss. Minecraft may lack a guide, but the crafting is also quite simple compared to this. Also the interface doesn't scale, so if you're playing on a huge 42" monitor the text is too small to easily read. 3/10.

@RobertPatrician Minecraft has absolutely no guide. At least Terraria has some help it can give you; and crafting is easier in Terraria, you just need the resources and you can make it. With Minecraft, you need to put the specific resources into a specific pattern.

The problem with Terraria's 'guide' is that it only shows you what you CAN make, not what you COULD make. I'm saying that the game would have gone from 3/10 to 7/10 if it had an in-game guide about how to progress.

In case you were wondering what actually happened to you with your first death in this vid, Mynd-- you stepped on a pressure plate trap in that water, and got shot with a poison dart. The ticking damage killed you even after you moved away from the trap. Watch out for those things! There are several types of traps underground that can get ya. :)

Gold is better then silver. Dont waste it on chandeliers. You should finish your house... dirt floor is bad. Replace it with wood. Then add more rooms so other NPCs will move in. Once you have 50 silver on one person the merchant will move in. You have to have 1 door,1 light, 1 table, 1 chair, fully backed with wood wall or other stuff. Also go use the wiki... make a plan on what you want to upgrade. Pickaxe, weapons, armor prioritized in that order works well.
