  • I only have like 2-3 inches of natural hair so I don't know what protective styles to do. I'm not really feeling extensions because every time I do that they make my scalp very itchy. But living in Connecticut I need to think of something quick because it's getting colder every day

  • I understand!! Even with 2-3 inches of hair, you could put your hair in a cute two strand twist style. Some days you could wear them with a cute benie or scarf. Right now I am rockin' two strand twists. Lately, I have been wearing them with a benie or scarf due to the weather. I plan on keeping my hair in two strand twists unless I feel like braiding my hair, but for now this works for me.

  • You should wear your braids out, not in a ponytail, they look beautiful! I have noticed that black women in North America wear their braids mostly in ponytails or updos but black women in South America wear their braids down and flowing. I like the latter :)

  • I did not realize that about black women in North America vs South America. Thank you for sharing! Peace and Love!

  • Twist is about the only hair style I wear in the winter...

  • Unless I am able to come up with another winter hair style, I will continue to wear them also.

  • I need a winter hair style right now cause it's so cold in Cleveland

  • I can imagine the weather there!

  • Love your braids! Wish i could wear them, but i have a tender scalp.

  • Thank you! I understand the importance of listening to our hair and scalp. If it is tender, I would not try it either.

  • im doin the same

  • That is great!

  • thanx! but i always feel like takin it out cuz i've never had my natural out 4 more than 2 days (i always get braids) its been a year since my big cut. i cant wait till the summer im gonna wear it out 4 the whole time n learn how 2 style it!!

  • Thank you so much! Your braids look beautiful also!

  • You did it yourself??!! You did a really good job!

  • Thank you! Yes, I suprised myself! The first five took me about an hour to complete after several mistakes. My entire head took about 20 hours over 2 1/2 days.

  • I love dat song in da background. Mary Mary did their thang on dis album. Hair is looking good. I also decided to put in braids due to the weather.

  • Thank you! I agree with you; Mary Mary's album is soooo hot!!

  • DIDNT YOU JUST BC? WHAT HAPPENED?

  • Yes, I BC'd almost three months ago on September 20. I decided to put braids in my hair as a protective style during the winter months.
