The reason there is no penalty for apostasy in christianity (anymore) is because it's about 450 years ahead of islam. muslims are going through their dark ages now, so when 450 years ago there would have been death for renouncing god (ie the crusades, inquisition, etc...) but islam isn't there yet.
I think that there is something more powerful than the earth.I believe that there is God and there is some truth in all religions but we don't have to believe a certain one.I don't think religion should be something you're brought up to believe.People have the right to believe what they want to believe. The penalty for Apostasy in Islam is nothing in islam, there is no punishment for this mentioned in the Quran, this proves that Richard Dawkins doesn't know much about the religion he debates against. I'd like to see him have a debate with Dr. Zakir Naik or Ahmed Deedat, these two scholars would destroy him in an argument about islam and even give him evidence for the existence of Allah. Embiology stages could be figured out by watching frogs, etc. which go through similar stages. As a member of this faith, you should know that the Qur'an states that there is NO earthly penalty for Apostasy...but this man in video, a religious leader Chairman Dr.Mukadam, states that in some places the penalty is death. It's hard NOT to misjudge when there is dissention in the religion itself.
...and another example is of what's going on in Syria. Al-Qaeda is calling for Jihad there. The Qur'an states that Jihad is against the non-believers of Islam, but many if not ALL the people fighting in Syria are Muslim, and ARE believers. But Jihad is OK b/c they are Sunni and the government is not, Assad is Alawi. Again, just with those 2 examples, it's not people misjudging, but there is so much hipocracy and misinterpretation by Muslims within their own faith that causes problems for all.

The reason there is no penalty for apostasy in christianity (anymore) is because it's about 450 years ahead of islam. muslims are going through their dark ages now, so when 450 years ago there would have been death for renouncing god (ie the crusades, inquisition, etc...) but islam isn't there yet.

The penalty for Apostasy in Islam is nothing in islam, there is no punishment for this mentioned in the Quran, this proves that Richard Dawkins doesn't know much about the religion he debates against. I'd like to see him have a debate with Dr. Zakir Naik or Ahmed Deedat, these two scholars would destroy him in an argument about islam and even give him evidence for the existence of Allah. Embiology stages could be figured out by watching frogs, etc. which go through similar stages. When Muhammad was still alive, apostasy in Islam is allowed, everyone can leave Islam or anyone can reject Islam; after confessing to be a muslim; because there is no compulsion in Islam, however during the war, apostasy in Islam is punishable by death and Muhammad did not allow his follower to become a traitor. A traitor is punishable by death during a war time.

In Europe you won't find any traces of Islamic inflence on anything that tends to make people more equal. Sometimes in historical litterature about feminism you can find a little that links back to Bahai or Zoroastrianism..faiths severly on the run in every country where Islam is dominant.. just as every other faith or cultural streak.In what Islamic country do you have less opression compared to those where laws are based on Christian principles?I believe but dont follow a system=not religious

Women in the west, when fighting for their rights in the 19th and 20th centuries used Muslim countries as an example of where women had rights. Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, etc. And in some cases women in Tunisia STILL have more rights.

The result of long belief in biblical Christianity is step after step away from religionl.... In the US women can do abortion... but why would they? If i were a woman i would not have an abortion. Some would, i think its wrong... its murder(thou shall not kill) but they must decide and live with it, stand on trial for it, or try and repent from it. Who am i to judge.
