  • It's funny how Ricardo and Anita's forbidden love is never resolved in the movie!

  • Just 5 daughters pal, Marjorie, Natalie, Marilyn, Edna, and Janet!

    We did want a boy! -E.C. 1957?

  • Eddie wrote "Ida" to honor his wife - they had 8 daughters......he was a well loved star all his long life and kept his fans.

  • Eddie Cantor was about the only person making musicals in 1931 and 1932, and they made money. It's too bad they're not on DVD. They were all on VHS.

  • "The Kid From Spain" is my favorite of the films Eddie Cantor did for Sam Goldwyn, and was allegedly United Artists' number-one moneymaker for the rather dismal-depression year of 1932! Leo McCarey directed, and later told Peter Bogdanovich he had fond-memories of the assignment, and Cantor. The music and lyrics were by Marx Bros.-regulars, Bert Kalmar & Harry Ruby. R.J.

  • Love it, but how about posting Eddie's two numbers with Lyda Roberti -- "Look What You've Done" and "What a Perfect Combination"?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Is that Toby Wing (3:07 to 3:42)?

  • Yes, that's Toby. And the blonde on the far left beginning at 3:58 is Paulette Goddard.

  • The people one meets with in old movies makes them worth watching for more reasons than one.

  • don't i know it!

  • This song is perfect for Eddie! He's truly one-of-a-kind! By the way, I am now the proud owner of a VHS tape of "Roman Scandals" and am now able to view all those fun YouTube Cantor clips in their proper context.
