I know this is a shot in the dark, but when you did these kinky twist did you use the marley dreadlock, rastafarian dread lock, or afro kinky twist by black n gold. I am getting my hair done soon and when I get kinky twist I can't seem to find hair that is that length. My hair is a little bit shorter than those so that is why I want it longer, I just want a different look. Thanks.

I believe if you just use the hair without cutting it in half it will be that long, but from experience do not use that braiding hair especially if you are new to doing these, that shit slipped straight out my head.I have seen women use other hair other than that kinky hair but idk what it is.

Im a weave attic so I wanted to help u out, to get them that long just dont cute the hair and yes most kinky hair comes that long, but there is a way to make it long, and no u dont have to use the kinky hair, u can use kankelon, but the twist wont b kinky, they will be smooth, im doing some nxt week so check me out and that will show u how they look, my hair channel is missHURTem2, hope this helps

hey girlie. you can definitely achieve twist with reguralar synthetic hair. but they will no longer be called kinky twists. these twists are refered to as senegalese twists. there just as pretty and more affordable in my opinion. the hair to use. Is bulk hair such as rasta fri. or Hollywood 100% kanekalon. it usually goes for 2.99 a pack. I live in cali so im not sure how much it will cost in your area.. I have pics of this style if you would like pics

You can do it. Jusy make sure you twist past the end of your hair. They will just be pretty long. But as you can see they turn out cute. Good Luck!!!

My face is shaped similar to yours (oval until the cheekbone; tapers as it goes to the chin). I've been looking for natural hairstyles that best flatter my face shape, and I think I might try this. I did kinky twists before, but they were shoulder length and started looking crazy 3 months in.

naijagirl2009: 3 months! that's a good stretch of time. I kept these on for exactly 2 months and then took them off. They got heavy and a pain to sleep with. What really got me was how heavy they were when soaked in water. I like updos and couldn't wear too many because the weight would cause stress on my front ends. I used 6.5 bags..if you try this...use less and I'm sure it will be more pleasant..but they looked fabulous! Short or long will complement our faces!!!

did u curl them with a curling iron or with water b/c I have kinky twist right now and I curled mine with perm rollers and hot water..also I have the kankalon hair i just want to know if i can curl them with curling iron it would be much easier..

makailigon : Thanks for watching. The hair i used was synthetic so I didn't use a curling iron on them. I used curlers and dipped them in hot water. The water was too hot though because it snapped the rubber closure on my curlers..learning lesson. Good luck!

I haven't seen it sold for less than 9.99 yet. I used 6.6 packs.. It was a lot of hair to use..I got tired of the weight..really when washing my hair..so I took them out after 2 months..they still looked great though..!

I've been doing kinky twist for a while and Ive learned to just {Boil} a pot of water pour the boiling water in a mug...section your hair and dip the ends in the mug and whenever you feel the water isnt boiling hot just go to your pot again and pour yourself a fresh cup. Doing this allows them to set as well as give them a nice curl. Also I use the jerry curl rods. When I get tired of micros I'll do a video myself...Hope this was helpful

I curled my ends with the rods in my "im getting kinky twists" video..the pink ones. You don't have to curl them, I just like the curl look a bit better. Even if you don't curl them, you should dip them in hot water to help "set" them.
