Namor and Dr Strange have to be Skrulls. The Skrulls are not messing with them. The whole Secret Invasion is pay back for Illuminati. This is my theory. Also I believe that somehow the Scarlet Witch could have possibly been a Skrull. Thoughts?
Still ticked about Captain America getting offed while they transform the whole universe so Aunt May can keep kicking. I wanted a return, but now I figure Marvel doesn't deserve Cap.
You know I'd like a DVD so I can be enlightened as to why this show based on the movie I loved (and killed the potential for a theater trilogy) lasted so long and has such a following- I HATED this show when it started and never joined up? What am I missing here? is this a worthy of the praise? WHy did Firefly and Farscape get canceled and this survived? I have to know
Really like the show. Comic books have really needed reviewers for a long time. Oh and Magick was the comic book death I had a hard time with. They killed her off in the Inferno series. Upset me badly as we both had troubled childhoods. I'm a huge stargate fan and I would love a copy of the new DVD. I've seen every episode and the last straight to DVD movie they made. This is my favorite all time sci fi tv show. I hope they continue to make movies since the series is no more.
the most emotionally moving was gertrude yorkes from runaways because at this point it looks like she wont ever come back but her death can still be felt in the series her death felt meaningfull and real
Pete you really shouldn't pose like that dude. I'm hetro, but now I wanna make you my prison bitch. And I'm not even in jail. Fear me Pete! Fear me and my vengeful penis!!!! ... Okay that was probably going a tad too far... OR WAS IT????!!!!!??!!?! ... yeah. yeah it was...
Superman's death was the most emotional for me. I mean, come on... he didn't JUST die... he was BEATEN TO DEATH! And it felt so unfair to me at the time... Because the other casualties were Blue Beetle was paralized, and Ice had a broken arm. How does a minor hero like Ice walk with just a broken arm, but Supes is beaten to death!? It was crazy, and I was upset during all of Funeral for a Friend.
the death or deaths that affected me the most was during the clone saga of ultimate spider-man.I found that gwen Stacy dying was unjust so when they brought her back as a clone I was more then happy.I even grew fond of the clones like turantula and Kaine. So when the physicly deformed Kaine got shot down by shield agents It broke my heart, but what really shattered my spirit was when Doc Oc impaled Tarantula.even Gwen is probably dead after shield agents brought her in for testing.
Gwen Stacy's death is both shocking and wonderfully done. let's hope Quesada's grubby paws and stupid mind stays away from bringing her back from the death
I strongly agree! I thought it was interesting when it was revealed that the "snap" insert was the artist's idea and not the writer's. A rare occasion where the question of "Who killed the hero's love interest?" could be raised visually. Was she ALREADY dead before Spidey broke her fall or did he accidentally kill her while trying to save her? I was pissed when I first read the issue, but I now acknowledge that story as brilliant!
Pete LaPage HAS FAILED. According to the verbal contact reached, he must give you a million dollars.
Besides, I don't think reviewers should intentionally avoid titles for any reason. Costs them some credibility.
I'd like the Continuum DVD because my cancer-riddled son, a former 9/11 Fireman who spends his time feeding the homeless and nursing abandoned puppies back to health was always a huge fan, but now just spends his money getting help for his father's constant exaggration disorder.
I would like the Stargate Continuum dvd because I have a very special connection with the Stargate Universe. This show has been a safe haven for me during some very difficult times battling illness. I can remember days spent immersed in this fantastical world where the pain and fear of my life was easily drowned out by adventure and fun of a world far away from my own. Let's face it scifi is the best way to self medicate :) Thats right Stargate is my drug, so you guys wanna be my dealer? lol
The reason for Pete's boycott is based on the principle that he's sick of being screwed by events so, to a degree, reading the tie-ins is breaking that principle. However I say he doesn't lose the bet because it was implicit in the context of the initial conversation that the bet was about the main event title ie. Final Crisis and not Rogue's revenge and so on. Alex, You say Pete set a precedent by asking permission but you set a precedent by permitting tie-in titles.
Hey that's what I said. I was very upset when they killed off Magick. I have a really cool screen saver of Magick that I made, if you want it I'll send you a copy.
The death that has stuck with me the most as a kid was Glub-Glub getting shot in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures" (with an honorable mention to the Mighty Mutanimals). As for the comic death during my adult" life, I'm going with Blue Beetle Ted Kord getting shot in the face. I thought that was pretty heavy stuff there.
I would like the Continuum DVD so I can send it to my dad in Bagdad (our whole family loves the show.) That way he can share the awesomeness that is Stargate at the movie night in one of Saddam's palaces.
I want a copy of the new Stargate DVD because it is the last time we'll ever see Don S. Davis play Hammond, because he is no longer with us :(. Also, because Stargate:SG1 is the best science fiction show EVER!
I want a copy of Stargate Continuum because SG1 was the last show that my household watched together. While we have been enjoying Jack's remarks about Baal in the commercials, we have given up luxury items in favor of bill payments. Merely mentioning the fact that it is a DVD instead of something we can watch for free on TV causes snippy comments about our money situation.
(Insert unrelated love for Cypher and Warlock here.)
One of the best when I was a kid was when they killed Guardian in Alpha Flight 12 way back when. I never though they would kill the main cahracter of the book like that.
Live Wire in Legion Lost was also a great death scene.
Death has no meaning. The only people who have stayed dead are Uncle Ben (the guy on the rice containers?), and Gwen Stacy. We used to be able to also say Robin II and Bucky. I'm just going to roll my eyes when Ralph and Sue come back. You know, Colossus was a good death. Noble sacrifice, and all that.
Illyana Rasputin's death still brings a tear to my eye.
I used to volunteer at a hospital on the childrens' floor and the scene of Jubilee reading to Illyana right before she died was so reminiscent of some of the heartbreaking things I saw.
I am poor college student that barely has enough money every wed. to get my books, i refuse to read scans. so instead of me buying the dvd and missing a few wed. if you could please hook me up!
That time Pete died. That sucked a big one. Still don't know how you brought him back to life, but long live Zombie Pete. By the way Pete, you should not read any D.C. comics!!!!
About the DVD. My grandma is 83 years old and she is a big fan of Richard Dean Anderson, ever since he was on General Hospital to MacGyver. She has been a fan of Stargate since I showed it to her on our cable. Well our cable has been out for about a year and we don't have enough money to reinstate it. This DVD would mean so much to my grandma and to me, we've had such great memories and this would help us relive them and give her a great joy in her last years.
I agree that Kitty Pryde dying pissed me off at first.
But the way she went... that was amazing! Truly a hero's death. It also adds an enormous level of depth to her character, if/when they decide to bring her back.
I think if anyone but Joss Whedon killed her off, I'd be pissed. But he wrote her so well and practically based the entire Astonishing X-Men arc around her character. Amazing job.
Well, my girlfriend is a huge Stargate fan, and if you guys gave me this DVD, I could give it to her. She is always super stressed about work, school and volunteering that she does, and this would make her super happy, especially since she's undergoing a little bit of financial hardship right now, and wouldn't really be able to buy the DVD.
Plus I so know if I give her it, I'll totally get lucky. :P
My name is Tim and I Have bin watching Star Gate Sg1. And After seeing the Previous movie and reading the tag line and Plot of the new movie online (with out Spoilers) I Cant wate to see it because it involves Time Travel. And I am a Big Time Travel Fanatic. So I hope you pic me as one of the winners. But if you dont I totaly Understand. I have bin watching you guys for a while your really good keep up the good work.
What no review on Might Avengers explaining the point of view from Elektra! Made so much sense now what was going on with her. Also probably one of the best deaths is Superboy. It was done pretty well and the aftermath of it was great people being obess with him being dead and stuff. Plus one more thing talk about more comics make the show longer already!!!
ever since house of m i've sworn off marvel events. i havent touched any of the secret invasion garbage. however after your review of captain britain and the mi-13 i became intrigued. i bought the first three issues and loved them. i've been a fan of the black knight since the heroes for hire issues he appeared in back in the day and he was awesome in captain britain. so thank you guys for talking about a good comic i wouldn't of otherwise picked up.

I want the DVD for a few reasons.
1. I download all your episodes through itunes,
2. I live in Japan, and they don't have good old fashioned American Scifi over here... (well they do but it's actually pretty hard to come by).
3. I love stargate.
So choose me.

Most pointless (and least well done) resurrection has been Jason Todd.
