  • Ooooh mike rows deep

  • very intelligent and also funny... what a wonderful man.....

  • wow, I salute you Mike Rowe

  • I know have an even bigger respect level for Mike Rowe.

  • This is eber flamenco remember when you looking at the very nice kite and I was talking to you and I told you of the video of you when you climbed down the building in hawaii with the window cleaners contractor and your my hero but I do have a computer business, the ones that come in full of roaches and dead rats inside. You come to my store and I want to make a video. Check my presidential bid video eber flamenco at youtube and promote me I do have the power for all the problems and needs.

  • They should make a law like "if you castrate an animal then you ARE going to get castrated you dick."

  • @dumbdouches Grow up!

  • i feel sick, this shit is sick. i wanna pull your balls off with a fuckin rubberband.... how you like that, jackoff?

  • @OnThatPowder Grow up and stop being a whimp. It's okay to do to him what you said here but don't you dare do it to an animal. This has been done for thousands of years and you come along getting sick and spewing out garbage...what a guy!.

  • @diesbl Well, in some middle eastern/african cultures Female genitalia is mutilated between infancy and teen years. Est. Over 130 million times in the passed 15 years. "oh it's been going on for thousands of years" Fuck you and your argument. Die slow, preferably with a rubber band tight around your nuts

  • 9:10 SPOILER ALERT!!!

  • This video went viral on Budapest

  • Mike Rowe! i love this guy!

  • God. I bet Mike Rowe has a monster cock. XP I'd pay to have sex with this man.

  • where is this video i want to see it ?

  • Mike Rowe is a good dude.

  • I raped my dwag Lastnight.

  • you people need to chill out jst saying... bitching at videogames for a rat being stabbed? grow the hell up focus on REAL animal abuse not animated...

  • I like it

  • Why were the lambs being castrated?

  • @bigb47 - So they cannot make love with sheeps and become meaty

  • @bigb47 so they don't inbreed. same reason male cows get hauled off farm and only one bulls gets rotated from farm to farm.

  • I remember castrating bulls in my agriculture class in high school, then I had a very nice gearshift cover in the form of a bull scrotum. Should've seen the reaction on a dates face when I'd stick her hand on the gearshift and say rub them balls baby!

  • Mike, cover my sister's mouth. It's the dirtiest job in two counties.

  • Excellent speaker and very natural story teller- Thanks! I don't think I could have done it- haha

  • "And I heard him.. I heard all the words"

  • Watching this video for the 50th time while listening to Sexy Bitch by Akon is so very enlightening. XD

  • I like Mike even more than before.

    Great speech!

  • Castration is unpleasant, but is necessary with livestock (and pets). Whether cutting or banding, both are ethical and humane. The process used must consider the animals welfare and the proper procedure must be used. Mike tells a good story, but the greater point he is making is the need to value work; dirty, often unpleasant work, because is needs to be done and it contributes to the good.

  • @mhuffman1000 ... I dont think that was the point of the speech.

  • Comment removed

  • Mike Rowe for Secretary of Labor!

  • @ssgcmwatsonusa Mike Rowe for president!

  • let me cut your balls off

  • I love him, he is so attractive, I will call him perfect, it is the man of my dreams

  • @dogcatloverforever gez... you need a fucking man.

  • This guy would kick ass in foreign diplomacy

  • local employers careertaker.info tons of local jobs

  • ah ok then if there's such group as PETA then let's form a group too... People for the ethical treatment of plants... who wants to join?

  • @cpmkw would u rather him do things the way they are supposed to be done or the more humane way?

  • One wouldn't think Mike Rowe is anything more than a humble entertainer with a good voice -- which is quite respectable in and of iteself -- but to find him an intellectual deep thinker -- a pragmatic philosopher is a wonderful surprise. He's by no means "a regular guy" but he understands what a regular guy feels.

  • @alphakid42 No; that's the whole point - Mike Rowe *is* a "regular guy". MOST "regular guys" ARE deep thinkers and pragmatic philosophers. Only those who believe they are not "regular guys" and limit themselves to what they think are their own "peers" fail to see how the rest of us are... which is largely smarter and more thoughtful than those who self-identify as "more smart and thoughtful". Which is sad.

  • @cpmkw I really wish you knew what you were talking about. Did you not hear him talking about how much he didn't want to hurt the lambs in the first place? Not to mention he ended up castrating the lamb in the most humane way possible. Honestly it's about as cruel as giving newborn babies shots every few months after they're born. It's better for the lamb throughout its adult life to be castrated, as it cuts down on aggression towards other lambs and problems with overpopulation and inbreeding.

  • @cpmkw i can say without a shadow of doubt, you're overreacting and completely wrong in this case.

  • @cpmkw I think it's terrible when people judge others on the basis of one inconsequential youtube video, don't you agree?

  • @cpmkw You're a disgusting pathetic excuse of a person. Go do these painful abusive games on yourself before commenting about them or the person that did it.

  • @cpmkw If you are going to have your balls removed would you rather have it done quickly or let them rot of over the week?

I wouldn't want his job but at least he wanted to do it the way that was best for the animal.

  • He speaks with a lot of experience and wisdom, he is without a doubt a great man

  • Just because it's the most humane way doesnt mean I'll go around biting the balls off if sheep. Great vid. Gotta love mike.

  • I would do awful, awful things to Mike Rowe. XD

  • thanks, brother.

Mike Rowe is the guy that -after my fourth marriage collapsed, I'd call him first...and he'd probably introduce me to my 5th and final wife.

  • Im not German, my battery power on my laptop is lower than 10%(want to see this vid before sleep), Im 17 now and Im not going to buy a Mercedes. Please for the love of God stop showing useless ads such as a German Mercedes Commercial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wish he were my dad. Coolest. Dad. Ever.

  • My goodness his voice is soooooo low.

  • I thought he was going to say "South Park" @ 00:57 lol!

  • Mike Rowe should have his own podcast

  • wow this is one of the few times I've wanted to clap from a video online.

  • I have so much unconditional and devoted respect for Mike Rowe after these incredibly short 20 minutes...

  • @bunionblood8 its a trip Mike Rowe can make you laugh on a show so hard and its natural to him yet you see this and realize he's a genius, i agree with you bunionblood8

  • I doubt they are laughing at the castrating off the lambs. They are laughing at Mike! Biting is one of the most humane ways of castrating. Of course, every way is going to be painful. But it's better than the band and having it expanded out over the course of a week. Using a knife causes unnessesary bleeding. Cuts bleed worse then rips or tears.

  • i wonder how can the lamb which has its testicles yank off which sounds pain to me can appear painless .....imagine having urs biten off ....

  • @WEIMA112 fuckin liberal lol

  • @vicentemoretti8 Sorry your offended, but there are things in the world more offensive then castrating lambs the old fashioned way. Granted we didn't bite them off we used a castrating knife. I also suspect much of laughter is nervous laughter at a somewhat uncomfortable subject to those who have never farmed.

  • i got to hear more of this gold

  • Dont u hate when people say its not your but you're.this is not a fucking essay we will make it shorter like 'ur'

  • @StripedSamurai I know, pressing those extra three keys is exhausting!

  • He's more common sense and is more in touch with true goings in society than self-interested policitians claiming to know what's best for us.

  • @ashthegreat he also pointed out that the right way by Osha standards made the animal quiver and in pain, while the wrong way had the animal back to it's normalcy almost immidietly. He also pointed out he always calls osha, peta, etc to find the right way to do things when it comes to animals. This man is what america needs more of, and that is someone who admits publicly that he was wrong about a certain maintstream way of thinking. and i respect him.

  • @Kosmo2409 Gold!

    What you wrote is gold.

  • @ashthegreat ok so when a wolf mauls a deer and rips its innards out while the deer is still alive isn't cruel? wouldn't being shot in the head by a hunter be a more humane way to go? it's nature, get over it and try to remember you are a homosapien and not an animal.

  • this is THE BEST 20:34 minutes i have ever spent!!!

Mike Rowe for Preident!!! many times over!!!

  • "Follow Your Passion" is what parents say when they secretly hate you, despise your 'Art', and think your 18 year-old-bride-with-a-mullet-and-a-gunt- really *is* the best you will do.

Sensible parents smack you upside the head and make you get an engineering degree.

  • @TheJohn8765 Sensible parents encourage kids to follow their passions while also gently (but firmly) also encouraging some sort of practical vocational learning. I would rather my son be a well adjusted, happy, gettin' by grocery store clerk by day, who proudly spends his spare time pursuing his passion for performance art/slam poetry during his time off.

I wonder about why everyone goes for engineering degree or finance degree or some DEGREE and not welders ticket or plumbers ticket or CDL.

  • i love me some mike rowe

  • Bite em off

    What!!!

    Bite em off...

  • i know first hand how right he is about peta and the humane society. they try to tell people that they know what they are talking about when they actually never do the work or get involved with the animals.

  • @CDLver The TRUTH about the terrorists who attach good people.

The are SHAC, PETA, HSUS, ELF ALF.

Macpherson, a mother of two, recently received a letter from PETA vice-president Dan Matthews, warning that she would become a "target" for agreeing to promote Blackglama."By making yourself the new face of fur you are also making yourself a top target for PETA and animal activists around the world," PETA vice-president Dan Matthews, warning that she would become a "target"

    FACT PETA TERRORIST.

  • Mike, quit hitting on our women, you assdonkey.

  • Discover how Mike and mikeroweWORKS are helping out the trades.

  • i worked at a lumber mill pulling green chain, and that is one of the most physically demanding job out there period. safety is not whats first on your mind even after i was almost killed when a 26ft 12X12 that slid out of control over our catwalk. the thing on your mind is production. and getting the job done fast and efficient. safety comes naturally when the need is at hand. nothing can be done to prevent things like that, but ppl make alot of money telling you that there can

  • @AChildMolester3 Everyone needs a hobby I guess lol

  • Oh wow one of the best video's ive watched, This guy has his head screwed on.

  • what i wouldnt give to have one of those shitty ass jobs... anything for the pay, id rather shovel shit all day than deal with the mayo and ketchup at fast food... i hate being afraid of condiments...

  • God i hate PETA, what a waste of time

  • @AChildMolester3 I concure! Animals all over the kingdom can go suck on bob barker's crispy bell end!

  • It's ironic that he talks to Tim Ferriss, writer of "The 4-hour Workweek"...

  • Watch the video on the main page of this guys channel wrsylvester

  • Like you need more money rowe! Seriously< and you little attempts at humor during most episodes of dirty jobs is becoming .....oh how shall we say........boring!

  • @VERMONTSKUNK stfu you peta faggot.

  • Rowe for president!

  • @j25727lego ROWE 2012!!!

  • Mike Rowe has the best voice.

  • @500019579 The best everything!

  • @500019579 This is normal! He comes to castrate a lamb with his teeth ^^

  • Mike your one helleva fella, Rock on, keep doin what your doing and spread the word to these college geeks

  • PETA, I will continue to eat meat and wear leather. And if you got a problem with it, you have three options:

1-You write a scathing letter, only for me to use it as tinder for my barbecue pit.

2-You say something to my face, only to risk getting punched in yours.

3-You get the fuck over it, and nothing happens to you.

  • @NinjaGhostScorpion that comment is the absolute perfect definition of "internet tough guy". who are you talking to? is peta reading every morons' comment on every video? fuck no. lol. PETA would, as a matter of fact, say something to your face. They do it all the time. And if you punched them in their face, you would get punched right back. Apparently you think you're the only person in the universe that will throw a punch. Not to mention you would be imprisoned for assault and battery.

  • Join Mike over at mikeroweWORKS. Lots of great conversations in the WATERCOOLER, including one Mike started, "Farmers vs Teachers."

  • I bet if you asked him if he would trade his current job for a blue collar job that paid more he would say no . . .which makes a lot of this a bit contradicting....

but still, he makes some respectable observations.

  • all liberals should be forced to do dirty jobs!

  • Sounds like Mike learned the lesson of "Arbeit Macht Frei"

  • I have to disagree with Mike on his "war on work". Productivity in America has skyrocketed for the past 30 years while wages have remained stagnant for the middle and lower class. We work harder and harder but earn no more money whilst other work less while much more vacation time and benefits.

  • @dantaeos You're so completely oblivious you have to be either really young and brainwashed, or you work for the state and believe your own bullshit.

  • @MoneyIsSilver Or perhaps your too retarded to come up with any reply so you throw dumbfuck rhetoric. Get the dick out of your ass kid. Take a look at Germany or Sweden. They have a higher standard of living and take much more vacation time. Stop believing everything a celebrity tells you.

  • @dantaeos That was a pretty stupid reply to the fact that you're stupid to think production has "skyrocketed"

  • @MoneyIsSilver I said productivity. Apparently you're illiterate as well. epi.org/publications/entry/the_sad_but_true_story_of_wages_in_america

  • @dantaeos I love that dantaeos wrote " your retarded" it's "you're", you retard- haha!! BUT, dantaeos makes some great points, albeit in angry fashion.

  • @yoyoboogey Complaining about spelling on a youtube video is moot. I wasn't criticizing his spelling, I was criticizing his retarded ideas. No offense to tards. Also...shit ton of spelling mistakes in your own message.

  • @dantaeos It's not spelling, it's grammar, get it right- I love the "no offense to tards" though, hilarious irony. Are you working right now? I'll hire you to be the spokesman for my company. I like your blatant "no PC" "offend everybody" style it rocks!! I'm serious.

  • He seriously needs to voice an anime character. He'd be legendarily good if they found one who really fit him.

  • Mr. Rowe is pretty much correct with regard to the war on work, with the exception of how much Americans work. Americans are overworked, over taxed and under paid. We have become a neo-feudal society of get rich schemes worshiping the banking gods on wall street and the celebrities in hollywood. All this while the private central banks loot the nation and take away our freedom.

  • The most important thing to realize is, A nation that doesnt work and produce MOSTLY dirty jobs, is a nation that has no economic value. People always judge farmers, particularly animal farming, yet they dont have the "balls" to kill their own steak.. Those who cant do a job seemingly are the ones that are the most critical of how SOMEONE ELSE does that job. Like PETA, HSUS and ASPCA.. They dont farm but they are EXPERTS on how WE should do our jobs...

  • PETA..dont call them "People Euthanizing The Animals" for nothing.. PETA is a dog/cats worst nightmare...They r a dog/cat killing machine.. RUN LASSIE RUN! Before the PETA , HSUS or ASPCA dog killing truck comes to your neighborhood! THese ignorant bastards are the REAL reason why people who get into trouble dump their animals on the side of the road. They KNOW that if groups like these killers get their hands on them , 9 times out of ten they are going to murder them! Hell of? a rescuer!

  • PETA People Euthanizing The Animals

  • I'm guessing that the 61 who gave this a thumbs down work for PETA or the Humane Society and don't like hearing that they're wrong.

  • this is one of my very favorite videos. its a great example of how important it is, to be willing to be wrong. peta should try out some science and critical thought.

  • I <3 Mike Rowe.

  • Anywhere animals are killed or used as sport, food or business, you’ll see sociopathic, dismissive tendencies. It not only attracts a type, it’s business. That’s why it’s so easy for the Humane Society or other animal protection groups to gather video evidence of wretches abusing animals.

  • I need Mike to come to where I work at and talk to the ELS people where I work at.

  • All you sheep humpers need to quit whining about animal cruelty. Mike wants to see things take a turn for the best while you animal whores are too busy whining about what the sheep farmer is doing to your f***buddies. Try doing something constructive. If you love animals more than people that's your prerogative, but don't harass other people with your views.

  • @purpdrank83 -your faith in the government and sectors like osha, and lack there of in a regular person like mike rowe astounds me.

PETA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SAVING ANIMALS, PETA KILLS ANIMALS 24/7.

PETA KILLS THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS PER MONTH.

Of the 2216 animals taken to its main facility in Norfolk Virginia, 2124 were killed or put to sleep - almost 6 PER DAY. Homes were found for just 7. In 10 years, PETA Slaughtered more than 20,000 pets & animals, that was 96% of the animals it took in.

    thaindian. com/newsportal/world-news/peta-under-fire-over-putting-down-animals-claims_100175698.html

  • @halcyon0830 Bullshit. Like we should take a moron who uses a childish explaination for what PETA stands for, seriously.

  • I like and watch Mikes shows but here his video shows he still isnt seeing the facts. The war he say on jobs is bullcrap in todays world Insurance companys and lawyers play a big part to keep cost and accidents at bay.

I understand what mike says but this will also give Airheads think this is credibility to there abusive acts on animals.

Fact livestock allows people to continue to not be responsible for their inhumane handling and Not even a slap on a wrist. for there crimes.

  • @Airspace1

The PETA part was no the entire point of the conversation it was a segway to his primary point that true work is in decline for industry workers and that people fear rsi from typing when the people that build the great countries of the world suffered silently. I'm in an industry that is in serious decline. It's not that there is no demand, it's purely put down to the fact that we would prefer to get things made in a country with cheaper labour costs at the expense of human rights.

  • @christopheye Where's the guilty conscience when it comes to human right in China? The people loosing fingers and family members in 3rd world countries don't even have the same help that a sheep gets in yours.

  • by the way the conversation on industrial animal cruelty for this video is fantastic.

  • @TheSeersTower hey tanis we're talking about your hog brethren getting their balls painfully chopped, maybe you should come down from that ivory tower of yours and join in. being a whitebread loser who wanted to meet a pedophile for casual sex at an anime convention doesn't eliminate you from getting something useful from this edifying information.

  • Hahaha I just watched the whole thing "what if OSHA got it wrong". Jesus christ fuck you, Mike.

  • @purpdrank83 Are you honestly sticking up for OSHA? If you go to any factory and ask the WORKERS themselves, they cant stand OSHA. They're not about safety, they're about money. Mike is right, Safety is 3rd in the real world. Getting shit done is #1, Getting shit done is also #2, Safety is only an issue if an OSHA rep is on site.

  • @MrFixedBlade Meat packers sustain more injuries in the US than in any other factory setting. I'm sure logically vacant libertarian sentiments from an ex-QVC salesman about getting rid of government policies to protect workers is the right way to go about reducing that problem.

You can google the human rights watch report "blood sweat and fear" for more information about worker abuse in this industry. Otherwise I'm not going to spend more time explaining why this video is infuriatingly stupid.

  • @purpdrank83 I'm sure the critically acclaimed "BLOOD SWEAT AND FEAR" is full of non-biased facts. I'm not going to waste my time watching something so infuriatingly stupid. You only heard what you wanted from this video, I'm sure the governments liberally vacant sentiments are truly based upon saving human lives and not making a fat check off of exaggerated fines & unreachable policies. Have you ever had a job that didn't involve a computer???

  • @MrFixedBlade You mean that a human rights organization is tampering with statistics (provided by the government, no less) and testimonies from packing industry workers themselves in order to undermine Mike Rowe's opinions. Can you even begin to substantiate why you think this.

  • @purpdrank83 I didn't watch "Blood Sweat & Fear", I was saying you only heard what you wanted from the Mike Rowe video. You only heard "OSHA Bad"... He was just saying that in the real world, OSHA isn't what gets stuff done. It doesn't matter what OSHA or anyone does to try to prevent accidents. MOST workers deliberately ignore the rules for one reason, if you followed every rule of OSHA, NOTHING WOULD EVER GET DONE. Mike was just pointing out that he realizes that. Relax

  • @MrFixedBlade Blood Sweat and Fear was an industry report released by Human Rights Watch, not a documentary. Youtube doesn't allow linking.

  • @purpdrank83 Well I read some of the report & got kinda bored, so l looked up some videos representing poultry processing plants & "Blood Sweat and Fear".... Uhm, I didn't see anything that made me think it was a human rights violation. Actually, besides the cryptic animal rights music, it seemed like everyone was relatively happy. It is WAY more dangerous in my line of work, and we're not bitching. But I'm sure someone will bitch FOR us and make rules that do nothing but cut production in half.

  • @MrFixedBlade Oh, well, my mistake for giving you the benefit of believing you could read a 10 page document, honestly.

  • @purpdrank83 Great comeback, honestly. What would reading that document do for my outlook on work? Would it make me step back and say "Wow, OSHA really has it down"? No. I'm not against OSHA, I'm against some of the unwarranted rules clearly created for the purpose of warranting a fine. And there are a bunch of em'.

  • @purpdrank83 I work in the field mostly, if I go to a gas station to get gas I can just dress normal. If I go to the same gas station to meet my sub-contractor I have to wear a hi-vis vest & a hard hat. If I need to go higher than 6' I have to build scaffolding, even if I'm changing a light bulb that I could easily do on an 8' ladder. For every good rule OSHA has created, there is an equally stupid one. If you ever worked with your hands, not fingertips, you would understand.

  • @purpdrank83 To sum it all up, make any rules you want. But in the end it is still up to the worker to follow them. If you have a trench over 3 ft deep, OSHA requires shoring to get in. What if you drop your wallet in a 4 ft trench? Should I shut down a job? Should I spend thousands of dollars & waste an entire day for something that would take 5 seconds? No, you jump in, grab it, move on with your day.

  • @purpdrank83 Thats my favorite part of the whole thing... Right On Mike!

  • It disturbs me that Mike Rowe's detached single-day anecdotes and strong-chinned car salesman charisma are normalizing some of the most horrific aspects of the animal agriculture industry for some (stupid) people.

I hate his snide demeanor and poverty tourism, too bad his career didn't end with QVC.

Also, unanesthetized castration etc happen on "small" farms too. The guy who runs Animal Sanctuary was an animal science major who saw several piglets die due to routine agribusiness procedures.

  • @purpdrank83 Lol what a joke this comment is. Have you even had a real job?

  • @TheCapn23 Do you have the first idea how the meat industry treats its workers? Mike Rowe is unintentionally insulting the lower class here by equating lower class jobs with happiness. He is calling these people stupid. He goes into these jobs for a single day and has no knowledge of systemic issues within the industries. It's just so insulting and laughable he'd primarily criticize OSHA, the governmental standards that sought to end the conditions from Upton Sinclairs The Jungle.

  • @purpdrank83 What are you talking about? You're "unintentionally" insulting these people by calling them lower class. Skilled labor workers make decent money, and have admirable careers. And just because he says people can be happy working as a plumber doesn't mean they're stupid. Do you think people who work in skilled labor are stupid because they're happy with what they do?

And do you really think Mike Rowe isn't aware that crappy things go on in certain industries? Get real.

  • @JeffVoss Half of this lecture is about his "experiences" in agriculture. Agricultural industries all have horrific track records of employee and animal abuse. Mike makes it very clear in this lecture that he's blissfully unaware of any of that to the point of suggesting we remove those formal protections for workers and animals.

  • @JeffVoss He also hilariously claims here that animals that have had their sex organs and tails mutilated are "frolicking" seconds after it happens. Animals often don't express pain quite as overtly as humans do but to claim that a mammal would be totally oblivious to having their testicles and tail (a portion of their spine) removed without anesthetic is unbelievable.

  • @purpdrank83 I appreciate that you care for the well being of animals. However, I can't help but think that you're letting your emotions cloud your judgment.

He never says there aren't problems with abuse in the animal industry. He's using a single experience from a job to urge people to rethink how they see right and wrong. It may sound like it's more humane to rubber band the lamb's testicles than to bite them off on paper, but it's quite the opposite in reality.

  • @purpdrank83 I'm interested to know what method of the two you prefer sheepherders to use. Neither isn't an option.

  • @JeffVoss Actually there is another option. Other mammals we designate as pets are not forced to endure the same tortures. Would you force your dog or your cat to be castrated with no anesthetic? I certainly doubt it.

  • @purpdrank83 I'm betting cost plays a role. A company would probably love to be able to say they castrate their animals painlessly with anesthetic. They'd get a lot of good press.
