I have robo hamsters for sale, 3 brown and 1 platinum. The brown ones are £5 and the platinum one is £10 due to its rare colour. They are at the age to be sold and i have been trying to tame them down ready for someone to buy 1. They are all girls but one of the brown ones is a boy.
@TeamPhoeniix Put another water bottle lower. Buy one of those bottles that you can hang from the roof or something, then you can put it in any level you want. Use wire or something like that.
@cookingandmore dont worry i sent him this, and it is true: "k first of all, hamster are not supposed to be used as food to begin iwth for ferrets or snakes, this is because their fat content is too high and unhealthy for snakes, or ferrets. Secondly of all thrwoing a mouse against the floor to kill it is not humain, and doing this to a hamster will just break its bones without killing it. Just buy frozen food if you are going to feed your ferrets meat once in a while."
I live in Finland. Black hamsters are very common, I keep getting them in all litters. But cream ones are more rare here. Allthough I wanted to have golden hamsters, they are so pretty.
Where do you live? Where I live cream hamsters are very common. It's actually pretty hard to find a black one. It seems like Arizona trusts you very much.
@patrick10001 The best thing, would be to get as big cages as possible. And I mean huge. And in there lots of hiding places, things to climb on, running wheel, and never-ending foodbowl. And if they could sometimes get out of the cage, to run in a safe room, they would love it.
And humane killing, I hope you dont feed them to your ferret alive? Im not against breeding animals for food, as long as they are treated well, and they dont have to suffer when dying, it should be as fast as possible.
@Elvenin No not live feeding :)! The cage can't be to huge. Only 1meter you know those long curverboxes? I'm used to kill mice by trowing them on the ground. I got my first next atm ;)!
@patrick10001 1 meter sounds nice, you can fit many hiding places there, and tunnels. Mice are easier to kill, they are more fragile, and you get good grip from the tale... With hamsters, gas is easier.
Im a bit boring, but would it not be easier to just feed the ferret some meats from the shop, than breed hamsters? I dont think they really need to eat rodents.
@Elvenin Buying all organic meat is to expensive. Ferrets need to eat rodents. Rodents got all the nutrition they need. I'm a vegan so I want to give my animals the best there is :)
@patrick10001 but then it would seem you don't like animals being killed soim just curious why you would even want a pet that you have to feed animals too, why not just get a pet that you dont. I just figure if your a veagen im guessing you like animals and dont like to see them hurt so why would you get a pet you would have to feed animals too. This might come across rude but im really not trying to be, am just curious what your reasoning is :)
@mrcheekycheeks Part 1: I always was a ferret owner and I always fed them high quality ferret food but apparently this wasn't good enough for them. Now I have put them on a natural diet this means I feed them rabbit, chicken
@mrcheekycheeks Part 2: mice, gerbils and rats I buy these animals at an organic prey breeder.I don't like killing the animals its not something I do for fun. But my ferrets need it.
I'm a vegan because I don't think its necessary that there are animals dying for my food. Because I can perfectly live on a plantfood. If I can eat a healthy diet so my ferrets can.
@Elvenin k first of all, hamster are not supposed to be used as food to begin with for ferrets or snakes, this is because their fat content is too high and unhealthy for snakes, or ferrets. Second of all throwing a mouse against the floor to kill it is not humain, and doing this to a hamster will just break its bones without killing it. Just buy frozen food if you are going to feed your ferrets meat once in a while.

@ArianaCravo Girld have visible nipples. And the males will grow their testicles at 3-5 weeks of age, they are easy to see. Before that, the distance between the 'holes' is farther away with males, shorter with females.
@ArianaCravo Sure I can and I will. I picked up those didnt I? Well the mother did not eat them. Only WILD hamster would eat it's baby if they are toutched.
When my haster have her babies, i only pick up them, when they could eat solid food. The mother eat two babies, but was only because they were weak. But thanks, the haster is pregnant again, and now i can pick up them. ^^
@thaongo01 That's only true for wild or badly tamed pets. Hamsters that really know their owners, and are familiar with their scent, dont mind if you toutch the babies.
hey elvenin i think your hamster breeding is cool and i plan on breeding mine during the summer um how do you make a great relationship with your hamster in order to touch the babies ?
@piplup2009 Well, she didnt. They did grow happily, and have moved to their new homes. None of my hamsters have ever eaten their babies because I have toutched them.
I think you should have more clearly pointed out the risks of holding pups at such a young age. As you no doubt no that mothers often cull pups who have been 'tampered' but people may watch this and assume it is safe to hold the young before their eyes open.
@MrAyrehead09 I have bred lot of hamsters, and usually I do handle them at this age, when they have fur, but eyes are still closed. Never had a hamster that had eaten its babies because of that. I believe that hamsters only eat their babies, if they are not properly tamed, and consider human smell as a threath. Tame hamsters are used to human smell, and they should not get upset by it.
If you dont know even that, you should go to library and read some books about hamsters.
When an animal is 'in heat', it does not mean, that its hot. Its a period of time, when the female is willing to mate with the male.
Syrian hamsters have this period in every 4 days. When she is in heat, she will let the male have her. If she's not, she wont, and she might be aggressive, and bite the male.
That's why you might have to try to mate them on many nights, before you can find the heat time.
Foods are not the reason for the mother to eat the babies. Its actually other way, if she's hungry or thirsty and there's nothing available, then she will eat the babies.
Cereals can be fed dry. If you want her to have milk, better serve it soaked on bread. So there wont be any changes to have baby hamsters drown on milk bowl. Also water should be on the bottle, not on bowl. Just little drops of milk is enough, she wont need lot.
dodo you have any tips on what to feed a mother hamster? my hamster had a secrete pregnantcey when i bought her i neva new she was going to have babies but she did have 8 babies and i have no idea what to do now lol . great vidoe 5 stars
One of the best foods is porridge. Its easy to make in microwave, the advices on how to make porridge are usually on the side of the package. Make sure its not hot when you give it.
Mix in carrots, apple, pear, curd... Soft babyfoods are also really good for hamsters, and they are available in small size jars.
You can use any kind of vegetables and fruits, and also some kind of meat products. Cooked meat, chicken or fish are fine, NO salt! Dog and cat foods can be given, and also mealworms.
How about smooth peanut butter? i feed my lovely hamster happy that maybe every week when i give her a "fruit salad", i put it on some bananas, and throw in some grapes, carrots, manely anything in the frigde hamsters can eat veggie and fruit wise. so would peanut butter (smooth) be good to feed her while she pregnant? and should it be on bananas too?
We dont have peanut butter in Finland, so I dont really know... If its only made of peanuts it should be fine, but read the label to make sure there is no salt added. Or any other spices.
I think natural peanuts would be more fun for hamster.
