Not bad.....I'm glad Im not the only one who LOVES this song. I would have loved it if they put it in P.J.'s ROTK. I always loved the music from the Rankin Bass versions.
@monkeyman2221 and @LordManda2 -- close, it's actually the Rakin Bass Return of the King. It is quite silly, though, but many growing up in that era might've enjoyed it as a child.
@monkeyman2221 The song is from Ralph Bakshi's Return of the King, a 1970's animated movie. It gets wrong so many things, like adding songs like these to what are supposed to be savage bloodthirty orcs, giving the Witch King a silly Starscream-style voice, sub-par animation, mispronounced names and barley any blood.
call me crazy, but I really like this song. It's like an addiction, the wierd tune and incredibly wierd lyrics auctually draws me in, If I had never seen the Jackson version, I'd say the version with this song is the best.
Man, one of the things that really disappointed me about the live action movies was the lack of music. Characters singing songs was in important part of the books. They could have included a little bit of that in the movies. This video brought a little of that and a good deal of nostalgia, so yeah, lots of win.
Could you imagine a horde of deformed humanoids pouring down a mountain slope, and what would sauron's inspector say 'whats that catchy tone coming from the hill' Sauron ;eyes rolling; ' that's just my music band practicing for the karaoke this week. Gondor and Rohan can eat their hearts out'. now lets listen
Where's there's a wipe, there's a way. Sauron says 'this is the tune that turned me to the darkside. you won't get these beats Minas Trith'
I LOVE this video. Work has been very annoying and depressing this last week and all I have to do is play this and I'm happy again!!!!! It's awesome! (Oh, I love the care with which the tune is matched to the movements!)
This made me cry tears of happiness. I know a lot of people say the animated LOTR is horrible, but if I had not seen it as a kid, I don't think I would have read the books in my preteen years. So, even though Peter Jackson's is probably a little bit more accurate, this one holds a special place in my heart. It was actually very easy for me to criticize the newer movies because I am such a hardcore fan of the books.
this could have been put in the film so easily the extended i mean alot of scenes from 1970s lord of the rings both like the bilbo party greeting ,the scene in the prancing pony where frodo vanishes, where the hobbets hide in the cartoon to surprise gandalph stupid i know but in the live action animated films made there way into the new film 30 years later but thats ok warner bros owns new line basicaly and the cartoons so i guess thats why they where able to us it as a bases for certain things
Anyone who skips on the music that was also in the book btw, should be held upside down by their toes and the hairs on their feet shaven smoothed like a babies bottom.
@alahad Hey, it's the cheesiness of the tune that makes it for me. The contrast between the orcs and the "whistle while you work" perkiness of the song is hysterical and perfect
@Akeche It says where there's a whip, there's a will. And this movie was lame. All Rankin Bass movies since Santa Claus is coming to town have generally been terrible.
FAN-TAS-TIC!!!!!! Oh I love it. Loved the rankin movie and the new one but I was so in the mood to see the whip seen. Cool work! Too bad you could not do the engaging scene between the humans and the Orcs But I know that would have been impossible.
It is so awesome to find out that Peter Jackson tried to recreate this scene from the book! And it is so awesome, olabuske, that you melded Jackson's adaptation with the Rankin & Bass adaptation! Five stars, sir.
I challange you to make a music video for Styxx - Lords of the rings! This is the best mix of video and music; since the Animated Flash Gordon\Queen video!
The audio is from the 1980 animated version of the LOTR. just thought i'd throw that out there for the kids who may not realize that it existed. It was cheesy, but definitely gave me some nightmares when i was little. And on the plus side it had lots of Awesome Songs!
I didn't know the song came from a cartoon series? I thought there had only been one film before Jackson's and it was mixing cartoons & rl shadow-like figures, but never heard cheesy tunes ever.

@monkeyman2221 The song is from Ralph Bakshi's Return of the King, a 1970's animated movie. LordManda2 5 months ago
@LordManda2 actually it's Ranking Bass' ROTK. Ralph Bakshi did a nice version of Fellowship of the Ring.
Well, would you expect savage bloodthirsty orcs and lots of blood in a children's film, that was follow-up to their animated adaptation of Hobbit.
Plus, this song is cool.

I suppose jackson could have added something like this. But there are a few reasons against it.
1. He wasn't trying to make a musical
2. Orcs have really terrible singing voices
3. "We don't wanna go to war today" That makes them a bit less intimidating methinks
Though the part where Sam tricks the orcs into fighting a battalion of men was awesome.

great job, hillarius echo in the valley, you can just imagine Sauron in his bower, nodding along in rhythm, smiling smugly if he had the lips.
Idea: edit the mouth of Sauron into a new version, and other footage of Armies (though using the same clips does mesh it better with the cartoon)
Did you try to match the "2nd class Orc racism" scene with Jacksons? Oh, right. You'd have do something clever to get Frodo out.
