its a cool...(pun) game but i don't like re-coning things i mean...silet hill does have cults and monster and people trying to bring about the end of the world right? cuz i gotta tell ya i'm not so sure after all these years
I've finished this game in one day and i got this end. I was surprised beacuse i think there's some "ways" to finish this game also by chosing the correct door exc.. :o
Okay, I know what Cheryl's mom is Dahlia... Sorta...
But, that was when she was Alessa!
And Dahlia was like... Sixty when she became Cheyrl!

It's like Konami wanted to make a new game, but wasn't sure people would buy it, so they used characters from a GREAT game, slapped the "Silent Hill" title on it, and called it a remake!
@WrinryRockBellFMA This is a re-imagining of the original story, NO ONE from the creators ever said that this is a remake...it's like what they do on movies that came from games...concrete example Resident Evil.
@SamAutomatic Shattered Memories is actually separate from the rest of the series continuity-wise. The "real" version of these events, as far as the other games are concerned, is Silent Hill 1.
@BestVideoGamesMedia He froze because she let go of her delusion of Harry. Why he was frozen, I would assume that it either A) Is related to the winter on the particular day she's at the therapist, or B) Ice being the natural "stopping point" for certain events such as with the other characters.
This makes some sense if u played SH3, because if this is after the 3rd game, Cheryl (heather)'s parents divorced and that means she lived with a step father and her real one was...somewhere. The dead father in the chair in SH3 could have been her step father....think about it.
when I was playin' this, I thought it was Harry who's having some kinda relapse or something and had to go to a shrink. Had a different scenario in my head.
Like it happened the same time as Silent Hill 3, and then he went home home and got killed!

by the way, which really came first according to the story order. part 3 or shattered memories? at sh3 she really lives in her fantasy world wherein his father is still alive?

haha I'm glad I ain't the only one who is affected so strongly by this game. Frankly you'd have to be made of stone not to feel moved by this game's story and characters.
At the end when she says "You've been with me for so long." and Harry responds "And I always will be." She shakes her head sadly...she is willing to let him go, and she does. Harry turns to ice and she is saddened, but she knows that it was the only way. It was what he would've wanted.
So I don't really like some of the changes that were made (For one Cheryl's age) but man this game is sick! I really need to get a copy although I have some questions. If I understand correctly...*Spoilers ahead*

@ComaLies225 1. Yes, the creators of the game "Climax Studios" had decided to re-tell the story of Silent Hill 1, making it that Cheryl was Harry's daughter and Dahlia was Harry's wife.
2. Yes, Harry's entire adventure was from what Cheryl had thought had happened according to my knowledge.
3. No. Dahlia is just Harry's wife and Kauffman is just a dick, but a good psychiatrist.
I'm not sure if things will be changed if they make a second re-imagination though.
@ComaLies225 no it's a re-imagination of the first game technically you could say it's not canon like Resident Evil Gaiden and Resident Evi Survivor ain't canon to the Resident Evil Universe
RE Gaiden's canon is pretty debatable so I guess enough ppl like it to try and find out if it's canon some devs that worked on the regular Re games worked on Gaiden. So some fans r clinging to that so just by that alone it could be canon and Survivor is canon Rebecca says it at the beginning of Re0 so don't go saying that that isn't canon the fact that devs and staff had it added to 0 makes it canon.
My heart broke when I saw this. The ending ties it together perfectly. I sobbed like a baby. This really captured what people overlooked about Silent Hill 2.
By the by, the woman that Cheryl embraces is her mother, Dhalia.
I really think that the next Silent Hill movie should have such an awesome story like this one... at one time it´s genius and on the other it's very sad.
I got an ending different than the four they say on the web, it's kinda like this one (separated Harry), but he is discussing with a girl... I don't remember much of this, since it was a short history (I didn't pay attention, I was too damn emotioned, laughs)... Also, I could not reproduce what I did in the game at all (not English speaking)... So, anyone got the same ending than me?
This is the only good Ending in the game: Cheryll Finally dismisses her Fantasy of her Father, and at the end, you see that she and her mother are getting along.
Many People say, that the whole game, you play Cheryll's fantasy inside mind, but I think it's only partially true, since Harry interacts with real People like Cybill and his Wife. I think it's more like, when Cheryll starts telling her story to Dr. Kaufmann her feelings towards her Father become so strong that he comes back to life.
@Tsukiyomaru0 Actually. That's Dahlia from when Harry and Dahlia got married in Shattered Memories story. If you look close enough and watch what ending I get, you can see that it's Dahlia.
If you look carefully at the PC at the principal office when Harry checks the file of his daughter, you can see that the complete name of Cheryl is "Cheryl Heather Mason".
Do everything to pretend you are not interested in the treatment and tht you are searching for Cheryl over everything. Example: don't color the "Happy Family", form two gays couples in matchmaker test, prefer abstract ideas, zoom in the lamp while Dr Kauffman talks, etc.)
The person Cheryle meets is her mom. But still this is a very emotional ending, if this is the re imagined version, i wonder what Silent Hill 6 will be like.
I mean, wow! I played the game with an open mind and I finished the game just now and I was utterly surprised that i was talking to his daughter the entire game! Talk about twist!
I have that exact game , I played it non - stop and when the ending came , I cried. Poor Harry , and I hope Cheryl will always remember him asuch as she can
I got this sad ending too. I don't know what to say... the feeling was like drowning into the water when I knew that Harry is not existed. it's all just imagination of Cheryl.
@highwind99 It say she got delusion over 18 years. So it might have the chance that all silent hill series is imagined by herself over these 18 years. In my opinion this maybe it hints that all silent hill is only imagination,and after Cheryl wake up from her long dream,then this all is finally over...Just my opinion,sorry...
Good opinion but is wrong, this silent hill is a Spin Off, its not in the "same universe" as other silent hill games. Just same names and area. Climax already stated that.
Guys to my opinion actually this series have the hints is finale to all silent hill series, maybe start from even silent hill 1,to silent hill 5...is all imagined by someone. Silent hill 1 and 3 in my opinion is imagined by Cheryl out of her loneliness because loss of her beloved father.Silent Hill 2 was imagined by James himself out of guilty of killing his wife. Silent Hill 5 was imagined by Alex (Hospital Ending give some hints that it all actually his only imagination)

This i a relly good game to play if you forgot all the others silent hill im a fan of the series and i liked the 2 ,4 and homecoming ones but i think this is a BAD game if you compare this with the other but is a GOOD game if you forget the others i have the same ending but the thing that was really impresive was the final result of your therapy mine was the same as i am too creepy
I just finished the game and I expected it to be cheryl after seeing her as a grown up , and cause mysteriously "harry" don't talk in the entire session, I liked the ending, unexpected, but I think the story in general don't help it , the other characters are almost insignificant to the plot, for example the poor Lisa, we don't get to know their personality and we just have some chitchat with them in the game, I loved the tests arround the game, pretty fun and enjoyable.
also, I loved the gameplay, an improvement, because we all know silent hill battle system is pretty "hard", and, at the risk of be hated, the worst music in the whole series, the only one that i liked was the one in the first nightmare scene, the other ones really don't sound like Yamaoka at all, no the best game I played, but it's not bad either and it's a fun experience overall.
I JUST beat this game a little while ago JUST now.... I got a slightly different ending than this one. I don't remember seeing Cheryl walking out of the building and meeeting up with that gut outside.... I got an ending where, after Harry freezes up, I see Cheryl put something in a cabnit (I think). Still, the ending itself was pretty sad... One of the most sad endings to a Silent Hill game I ever saw....
One of the endings are when harry leaves his family and tells her that its not her fault he is breaking up with her mother. Its sad, but at least he wasnt a bad person. Another is when he is a drunk and is kinda mean to his family. So it depends on how you look at it, but I would say that is a bad ending, even though it is sad aswell.
Great game. I recommend it. One of those few games that really gives you great dialogue and realistic expressions even though it isnt the best graphics ever.

Its a nice game. but in my opinion its not a SH the schould call the game only shattere memories. call harry pete , call sherryl linda and so on... only the names are from silent SH. the gameplay , story u.s.w. had nothing to do with SH... and i hope the find back to the roods ! its totally amazing, this story is so incredible! the endings so unexpected, all the game tries to explain how was harry before the accident... everything was inside cheryl's memory... this is a game worthy of a re-imagining of horror firts SH! one of the best for me

well in the end, dr. k says that she has been in denial for 18 years, which suggests that she is 18, because she is also still in school. the cop said that harry died 18 years ago, which means he might have died when she was born. Also the dr. says that she never even knew him and simply made up a father that she would have liked to have in her head and made up fake memories of him.When you play as harry in the game, i think the whole idea is to escape dr k's influence on her, AKA the creatures
That's not accurate. Harry and Daliah (his wife) divorced when Cheryl was seven. Then Harry dies in a car crash shortly after. That would make Cheryl 25 if it were eighteen years later. Cheryl thought of Harry as a hero of a dad when in actuality he was a human being with flaws. And she blamed her mother for the divorce, when, according to the final video shown in the ending, the divorce was mutual between both parties.
has anyone realize why even call silent hill cause all it is a town in a blizzard and no clues to where they sacfice cherly to bring that demon like other silent hill games the only monster i see is those chase monsters raw shocks

silent hill stoped being what it used to be when the 4 came out( with exeption of silent hill origins), i mean, silent hill 4 5 and this one are great games, but there arent the same as 1 2 and 3
personally for me the best was silent hill 2, loved the plot, got shivers with the amazing end it had
Reminder: Akira Yamaoka and the developers have both said this game is NOT canon to the main Silent Hill storyline. And before you go on about "baww america ruined it" keep in mind Yamaoka WORKED ON THIS and APPROVED everything and was very very happy with the ending.

What? This game had nothing to do with Silent Hill. It was a fun game, but there was almost no relation to the original. This shouldn't be called a remake. They should have just called it a brand new game.
@MiRyRE there#s an interview regarding this. The makers said that they loved silent hill so much that they HAD to use these characters and tell their own story. Silent hill has so many endings that there is no original silent hill. You can't tell what did happen and what didnt.
This part actually explains that all the previous parts (not and 2) were happeining only in Cheryl's head. So it is not a remake but ... hmm ... another part in which everything is explained.
Just like the first line of dialog in this video, this is going nowhere. This game has absolutely nothing in common with the other games other then the character names. Also, what the hell do you mean by,"So it is not a remake but ... hmm ... another part in which everything is explained."? If everything were explained then how does any of this link up with Silent Hill 3?
well, silent hill 3 was Cheryl's adventure - so that could be one of her halucinations - remember that she goes to therapy and this doc mentiones that previous therapies of Cheryl didn't give her anything. I guess Silent hill 3 was one of those fruitless therapies talk.

I really think that the next Silent Hill movie should have such an awesome story like this one... at one time it´s genius and on the other it's very sad.

I got an ending different than the four they say on the web, it's kinda like this one (separated Harry), but he is discussing with a girl... I don't remember much of this, since it was a short history (I didn't pay attention, I was too damn emotioned, laughs)... Also, I could not reproduce what I did in the game at all (not English speaking)... So, anyone got the same ending than me?

This is the only good Ending in the game: Cheryll Finally dismisses her Fantasy of her Father, and at the end, you see that she and her mother are getting along.
Many People say, that the whole game, you play Cheryll's fantasy inside mind, but I think it's only partially true, since Harry interacts with real People like Cybill and his Wife. I think it's more like, when Cheryll starts telling her story to Dr. Kaufmann her feelings towards her Father become so strong that he comes back to life.

@Tsukiyomaru0 Actually. That's Dahlia from when Harry and Dahlia got married in Shattered Memories story. If you look close enough and watch what ending I get, you can see that it's Dahlia.

If you look carefully at the PC at the principal office when Harry checks the file of his daughter, you can see that the complete name of Cheryl is "Cheryl Heather Mason".

Do everything to pretend you are not interested in the treatment and tht you are searching for Cheryl over everything. Example: don't color the "Happy Family", form two gays couples in matchmaker test, prefer abstract ideas, zoom in the lamp while Dr Kauffman talks, etc.)

I got this sad ending too. I don't know what to say... the feeling was like drowning into the water when I knew that Harry is not existed. it's all just imagination of Cheryl.
this is one my favorite silent hill episode.

Guys to my opinion actually this series have the hints is finale to all silent hill series, maybe start from even silent hill 1,to silent hill 5...is all imagined by someone. Silent hill 1 and 3 in my opinion is imagined by Cheryl out of her loneliness because loss of her beloved father.Silent Hill 2 was imagined by James himself out of guilty of killing his wife. Silent Hill 5 was imagined by Alex (Hospital Ending give some hints that it all actually his only imagination)

This i a relly good game to play if you forgot all the others silent hill im a fan of the series and i liked the 2 ,4 and homecoming ones but i think this is a BAD game if you compare this with the other but is a GOOD game if you forget the others i have the same ending but the thing that was really impresive was the final result of your therapy mine was the same as i am too creepy

I just finished the game and I expected it to be cheryl after seeing her as a grown up , and cause mysteriously "harry" don't talk in the entire session, I liked the ending, unexpected, but I think the story in general don't help it , the other characters are almost insignificant to the plot, for example the poor Lisa, we don't get to know their personality and we just have some chitchat with them in the game, I loved the tests arround the game, pretty fun and enjoyable.

also, I loved the gameplay, an improvement, because we all know silent hill battle system is pretty "hard", and, at the risk of be hated, the worst music in the whole series, the only one that i liked was the one in the first nightmare scene, the other ones really don't sound like Yamaoka at all, no the best game I played, but it's not bad either and it's a fun experience overall.

I JUST beat this game a little while ago JUST now.... I got a slightly different ending than this one. I don't remember seeing Cheryl walking out of the building and meeeting up with that gut outside.... I got an ending where, after Harry freezes up, I see Cheryl put something in a cabnit (I think). Still, the ending itself was pretty sad... One of the most sad endings to a Silent Hill game I ever saw....

This is the best ending. All the other endings are worse, from slightly worse to really bad, like harry being a drunk.

One of the endings are when harry leaves his family and tells her that its not her fault he is breaking up with her mother. Its sad, but at least he wasnt a bad person. Another is when he is a drunk and is kinda mean to his family. So it depends on how you look at it, but I would say that is a bad ending, even though it is sad aswell.
Great game. I recommend it. One of those few games that really gives you great dialogue and realistic expressions even though it isnt the best graphics ever.

I like silent hill as it should be like in the first 3 parts but this game is a reamagining of the original and its briliant and amazing but i still like the first game more just becouse its the real terrifing silent hill covered in blood and darknes not ice ...

Its a nice game. but in my opinion its not a SH the schould call the game only shattere memories. call harry pete , call sherryl linda and so on... only the names are from silent SH. the gameplay , story u.s.w. had nothing to do with SH... and i hope the find back to the roods ! I want to see cruelty , scary and totaly insane pictures ( + a good story )... for example i loved the " otherworld" ... never seen before some sick shit like in SH 1 2 3 ( the ghosts from SH4 are pretty scarie , too )

its totally amazing, this story is so incredible! the endings so unexpected, all the game tries to explain how was harry before the accident... everything was inside cheryl's memory... this is a game worthy of a re-imagining of horror firts SH! one of the best for me

so basically the character you play as in the game is just a fake character that cheryl made up in her head because she never really knew her dad and she wanted to pretend that she got a chance to know him.

but when harry and his wife just were separated, harry dies in a car accident, cheryl pretend that his father was alive and with her, so he just started to imagine some creepy things and the story on this game... i think
at the end she does understand that she was'nt accepted his father's dead...i think XD

well in the end, dr. k says that she has been in denial for 18 years, which suggests that she is 18, because she is also still in school. the cop said that harry died 18 years ago, which means he might have died when she was born. Also the dr. says that she never even knew him and simply made up a father that she would have liked to have in her head and made up fake memories of him.When you play as harry in the game, i think the whole idea is to escape dr k's influence on her, AKA the creatures

That's not accurate. Harry and Daliah (his wife) divorced when Cheryl was seven. Then Harry dies in a car crash shortly after. That would make Cheryl 25 if it were eighteen years later. Cheryl thought of Harry as a hero of a dad when in actuality he was a human being with flaws. And she blamed her mother for the divorce, when, according to the final video shown in the ending, the divorce was mutual between both parties.

silent hill stoped being what it used to be when the 4 came out( with exeption of silent hill origins), i mean, silent hill 4 5 and this one are great games, but there arent the same as 1 2 and 3

Reminder: Akira Yamaoka and the developers have both said this game is NOT canon to the main Silent Hill storyline. And before you go on about "baww america ruined it" keep in mind Yamaoka WORKED ON THIS and APPROVED everything and was very very happy with the ending.

What? This game had nothing to do with Silent Hill. It was a fun game, but there was almost no relation to the original. This shouldn't be called a remake. They should have just called it a brand new game.

@MiRyRE there#s an interview regarding this. The makers said that they loved silent hill so much that they HAD to use these characters and tell their own story. Silent hill has so many endings that there is no original silent hill. You can't tell what did happen and what didnt.

Just like the first line of dialog in this video, this is going nowhere. This game has absolutely nothing in common with the other games other then the character names. If everything were explained then how does any of this link up with Silent Hill 3?

well, silent hill 3 was Cheryl's adventure - so that could be one of her halucinations - remember that she goes to therapy and this doc mentiones that previous therapies of Cheryl didn't give her anything. I guess Silent hill 3 was one of those fruitless therapies talk.
