A child is going to eat when they are ready and when they are ready they are going to eat what their stomachs want. No wonder we have fat kids now days; we teach them to clean their plates.

Fix better food and learn to make vegies taste good. I was raised on a vegitarian diet and the food was magnifico. And If they are playing games....wrap the food and save it for next time. Food is not waisted and I bet you they will stop playing games when they realize that you are not getting excited.

Oh, this is terrifying. Why does the dad have to sit there when they go to sleep? And why did the parents discuss their parenting in front of the kid? I'd feel so overwhelmed if I were in the mom's shoes, these people are obviously in way over their heads. It's really difficult, too, to turn such a situation around - in fact it's probably even more difficult than to do it right in the first place. I do hope they're ok now!

The problem with this family is that the mother has to answer the phones for the business while taking care of the children. They should put an office in a separate part of their (large) house, and NEVER answer the phone except during agreed business hours.

I won't answer ANY type of call when eating dinner, cooking, cleaning, brushing my teeth, when I'm stepping out the door, just walking in, or when I'm on the john. I will not interrupt what I'm doing to answer the phone.
