  • My Younger Sister, a Researcher by Training, dug out some Family History a while ago. Stravinsky' Maternal Grandfather and I share the Same last name, Saxony heritage and a love of Sour Cream infused Beef Gravy. 5/4 Time and for me, it all correlated to a intrinsic appreciation of the Piece.....Rock on....JB.

  • @franklywright Yep, the Orchestra of Venezuela, the Simon Bolivar YOuth orchestra!! One of the best orchestras in the whole world. Their recordings are those with the most emotion, the most powerful and full of energy!!! Love them!! :))))))))) <3 <3 <3

  • just holy shit that was insane

  • . . .a Part of which was borrowed by Bernie's West Side Story ?!

  • 0:28 Dudamel fucking headbanging the shit out of his brains

    0:42 "STRONG"

  • Cuánta energía y buena onda tiene Dudamel, es un maestroo!!!!

  • He has ear memory that's all. You can notice at the moment He doesnt know where He is at. He asks the orchestra the numbers rehearsals. when Conductor knows the score....He knows the score

  • I love how he does the 11/4 bar leading into the glorification

  • I can't hear a thing! What does he said?

  • @csm120 "this is my appreciation of this part of the piece, i think this is the beggining of the Heavy Metal"

  • Yes, he was serious it wasn't a joke...

  • The energy of the '11' death chords is the best I've seen.

  • aa que interpretacion tan buena!!ahi si se ve lo bueno de veneuela!!

  • dancertm hopefully Gustavo have the chance to read your scholasty comment

  • la consagración de la primavera...... genio Dudamel!!!!

  • que piesa de stravinsky es esta???

  • it is hard to imagine that these musicians are between 16 and 24. truly staggering.

  • jajajajjaja aah q Duadamel jaja Hevy Metal yeaaah!! jaja

  • Rehearsal..having studied and consumed Stravinsky for almost 45 years, I find the energy great, but he's pushed tempi to where the piece is ragged and sloppy. This, of course, is a rehearsal, but I am more concerned with tempo. The rhythms may not sound if played too fast.

BTW, yes, early heavy metal bands (aka Iron Butterfly and Led Zeplin) in the 60's and early 70's said the Le Sacre was an influence.

  • great!
