Haven't heard this theme song (properly) in a while actually...not since Merlin Series 3 finished last year. Hearing it again brings back a lot of nice and happy memories. =)

It's a really great theme, though. There's something epic and heroic about it yet there's a 'fantasy' quality there too. Awesome :D

I LOVED Morgana in Season 1. HATED her in Season 2. And ABSOLUTLEY DESPISED her in Season 3!!

Also... is it just me who thinks that Gwen is a user? First, she liked Merlin, especially from Ep. 1 to 4. She even kissed him. THEN, she like Lancelot. THEN, it was back to Merlin (kind of). THEN Arthur. THEN Lancelot again. And FINALLY Arthur! Phew... I liked it when it was her and Merlin. They were cute together... :S

Not that this series is following previous incarnations of the legend to the letter (see: Mordred), but I am betting Merlin will not get any girl due to canon issues and Gwen WILL wind up with Arthur though Lancelot will still provide the love triangle famous in Arthurian legend.

This opening reminds me of The opening theme to Firefly. Not because they sound alike, but because when i first watched Firefly I couldn't stand the opening theme, but then after watching the show, I loved it.

It's the same here, I originally could do without the theme music, but now I find it completly amazing.

@mitmfan Only thing I saw was "In January 2010, American broadcaster SyFy (owned by the same company as NBC) purchased the rights for Merlin." from Wikipedia. Guessing it might have been shifted there to assist SyFy more than anything, or else it's Season 1 ratings might not have been good enough for the big networks but more than enough for SyFy.

@davrion24 If it's because of ratings, then I find it weird that they would switch to a cable channel, since so few people get cable. I have read that it airs on Friday (as opposed to Sundays) which seems like it would be less viewers for some reason. I'm hoping (maybe falsely) that after it gets done on Syfy it will be rerun on NBC.
