You don't need patches. It's been 4 months for me since I have smoked. Every time I get cravings I just have a lollipop. The reason why I quit was because a cancer patient said she wished she had health like mine, and there's me smoking like an idiot. The cravings last one week. You all can do it. I did. I feel great. I can breath now :-)

@GreenFrankenstein Cannabis also has many medical uses for which it is both cheaper and safer than prescription drugs. It's illegal status makes it's price artificially inflated, making it the most profitable drug for gangs.

It should be a personal choice how a person chooses to use it, and people should not be persecuted for doing so. Legalizing it would make society safer by taking the profits away from gangs and eliminating the atmosphere of oppression and fear for people who use it.

I'm sure it isn't the greatest thing for the lungs either, but its chemical composition is far less harmful than that of industrial tobacco. Alkaloids in cannabis actually help to prevent cancer cells from forming, and also dilate the lungs. Completely opposite from industrial tobacco, which is carcinogenic to even chew, and constricts lung passages when smoked.

@210482fmj I would say yes and no to that.  On the one hand cannabis is usually smoked and smoking anything isn't particularly healthy, and it is also mind altering and habit forming. On the other hand, it is far less harmful or addictive than either alcohol or tobacco. Yet it carries a stigma due to propaganda and the criminality of it along with a misunderstanding of its effects, particularly among people who have little or no experience with it.

@210482fmj I agree that it is not good for the lungs to smoke anythiing, I can assure you that cigarette smoke is far, far worse for the lungs and body. Industrial tobacco is so bad for you that it is more carcinogenic when chewed than smoked. Cannabis is completely nontoxic orally.

I believe that people should have the right to use both without judgement or stigma. If cannabis was legalized completely, it would be much easier to study its effects without bias or interference.

In European countries, everybody smokes everywhere. I have family in Israel that virtually all smoke (including 70+ year olds) none of them have any serious health problems.
