Thanks for writing the English version of the name of this great building. "koelner dom" (cathedral, cologne) Is KÖLN, Dom, somewhere else? it looks similar, is it an adjective of Cologne in German? or some such thing? (Kölner Dom) I think they are all the same place. The beautiful big cathedral with two towers, that is near to a very big railway station, and a bridge, the road of which bends sharply to the east. . Is this so? any one? Cheers. from, del-boy.

it's in "kölsch", the dialect spoken in cologne. doesn't really work neither in normal german nor in english, but here's the refrain anyways:

we'll leave the dom in cologne, cause that's where it belongs.

why should it be anywhere else, that wouldn't make sense.

we'll leave the dom in cologne because that's its homeplace,

and in its traditional location it'll stay in good shape.^^
