@MITGAMESCOMPANY Ford is a helicopter pilot and saved people during fires in california. I like them both but Ford has done real heroic deeds in his life. Selleck is a good guy but better suited to westerns and such. he is also a big man and therefore not the "everyman" that Ford can be. If Indiana Jones was a big guy his fights with huge bad guys wouldn't have been so entertaining. I hope you get that. I think Selleck is awesome though!

Tom Seleck, and the rest of the cast made that show, other wise it would have just been another PI show, and the most important thing was it showed real viet nam vets, hollywood had just shown vets as drunks, druggies, crazies, etc, this was the first postive showing of the nam vets, to remake this show would be to rip off the vets, Magnum belongs to the fought in asia, a remake with vet of another era would just be another action film, and no one could redo that great cast.

cheerful. Even the bad guys weren't really threatening, but much more

often funny in a very unrealistic way.

Sure, I like today's dramas and cop shows, but they don't have the easy-going

charm and humor of the old days.

Now it's all about gritty realism. Well, you get that on the news!

I grew up in Hawaii when Magnum was being produced. I got to go on set and sit in the Ferrari it was very cool. We had some close family friends and their father was Higgins stunt man. I remember a couple of Halloween parties where he came dressed in full make up to look like Higgins. Unfortunately I never got to meet Tom Sellek, he's always been one of my favorite actors. A little bit of Magnum trivia, the drive way to Robin Masters estate in real life is about 20 feet long.

The Dukes of Hazzard got it right, making their movies with the old cast, but then along comes a yuppie producer and remakes it all with new cast. I refused to go and see that one, despite being a big fan of the Dukes.

Magnum P.I. is just you of those show you have to love... I have most of the season's on DVD, been watching them again this past week. What is cool that I have been to Ohau many times & when you watch the show, you know most of the places by name where they are shotting the scenes in the show. Makes me want to go back for another holiday to the islands. There will never be another show like Magnum PI, best show of the 1980's... Like they say, the only Thomas Magnum is Tom Selleck...

I'm half-way through Season 2 of the old show (too young to watch it on TV), and I find it better than any show out there right now. I wish there was a way to stop this movie from being made. Magnum P.I. was perhaps my favorite TV series. It was funny, dramatic, original, inspiring, and at times thoughtful.

Somehow I think they should not resurrect it, though, in a new movie. I doubt it could be as good as the series, because so much of the appeal of the series was the chemistry of the actors. Anyway, I am all in favor of a reunion show.
