The Earth has been cooling since 2005. The natural factor driving it is well understood. We also know why the 1990s saw a brief warming bump - the solar minimum was not very low compared to the previous and the current one.

@nigelelsass The flaw is considering it relevant. CO2 is a trace gas. Even in dry air, with no water vapor at all, CO2 is a mere 0.039%. Water vapor makes up nearly ALL of earth's greenhouse gas at more than 98%. Look up "water continuum" If you've ever spent time in the desert, you see how effective CO2 is as a greenhouse gas. It's 110 degrees in the day and below freezing at night. Sure, the trace molecules are absorbing at 2.6 and 4 microns, but it's meaningless at such concentrations.
Concentrations in chemsistry and physics are only one factor which determine the potential.... otherwise I would ask you to drink a diluted mixture or arsenic and water... just to see if you still pretend "only absolute concentration matters".

(and waste money on stupid Europeans like me?) well several reasons: (i) the US is large enough to derail regulatory efforts on greenhouse gases... and this has largely worked! why then waste money in other countries where lobbying is more fragmented and difficult? lobbying the US is easy, cheap and grants you more power (ii) the US is home to some of the largest fossil fuel companies.

The result of the research is available in REAL scientific papers published by Jstor, Elsevier, Springerlink, Sciencedirect, etc... abstracts or summaries are in the magazine "science" or "nature" (no, the wallstreet journal isn't a reliable source of scientific info).

CO2 DOES NOT drive temps. The SUN is the main factor in CO2 rising. There is more CO2 in water vapor (ie. the OCEANS) than humans can ever produce. CO2 to plants is the same as oxygen to humans. Plants turn CO2 INTO oxygen. Are all the facts, that you were taught in elementary school, seriously escaping you because of the monetary retirement agenda of a few BILLIONAIRE blow hards?

@nigelelsass The flaw is considering it relevant. CO2 is a trace gas. Even in dry air, with no water vapor at all, CO2 is a mere 0.039%. Water vapor makes up nearly ALL of earth's greenhouse gas at more than 98%. Look up "water continuum" If you've ever spent time in the desert, you see how effective CO2 is as a greenhouse gas. It's 110 degrees in the day and below freezing at night. Sure, the trace molecules are absorbing at 2.6 and 4 microns, but it's meaningless at such concentrations.

@nigelelsass Miami, Florida is at the same latitude as the deserts of Saudi Arabia. They get the same amount of sunlight. One has very stable temperatures with warm nights and warm days. The other is boiling hot by day and freezing cold at night, because it's very low on greenhouse gasses. There's no measurable difference in the CO2 level of those two places. So what do you imagine the difference is?
