  • Wow, I missed this one, Charles Barkley being a nice guy on TNT?!

  • yea im sure his trainers got him on plyos. teachin him how to land and gettin stronger. i dont doubt he can be a force in the nba

  • Tell Oden to stop getting injured, so he can join the Miami Heat

  • Oden has always been garbage. Can't believe everyone bought into this guy coming out of college. His draft stock went up when Ohio State made a run to the final 4. But he has no offense game what so ever! He's just a defensive type center. All he's going to be is a back up center. Think Erica Dampier

  • @Dogfacesoulja8582 yea i dont think erick dampier has that combo of length, elevation, and strength that oden and howard have

  • Greg will be back and in a few years will be one of the most dominant players, in the lineage of Shaq and Duncan, in the NBA. YOU CAN COUNT ON IT.

  • The internet is full of assholes and homeless fags

  • @Marqui74 Just like you?

  • give us hell barkley!!! yeah, the trailblazer management, coaching staff, teammates and fans across the league should be as patient for greg oden as folks were as patient for guys like darko, yi and kwame. suck on it chuck. suck it long and suck it hard.

  • greg oden needs to go to phoenix shaq, grant hill, steve nash the training staff gets these guys on the floor every night somehow. that'll be the best place for him. either that or play 15 min a game for miami!!!!!! GO HEAT!! Haters gon hate

  • @bigpappasmurff

    Wait,

    Shaq isn't in Phoenix.

He left around 2 years ago......

  • @bigpappasmurff uh, thank u sir for proving in PRINT that u don't know wtf ur talking bout. shaq left phoenix like...2 teams ago. TRY AGAIN

  • @dddevin69 you just missed my point, you remember after he won the title in miami the next 2 seasons he was plagued by injuries? then he went to phoenix and played the most regular season games in at least 2 years he has had injury problems in Cleveland and boston including a reinjury recently. there i tried again asshole

  • If he he can lower his minutes he'll be fine I think. use him for 25 minutes a game and hell be effective, not so many damn dunks either jesus ODEN!!!

  • greg oden should not dunk violently and wave his legs around.

  • If Greg Oden plays one full season in the NBA, I'll be impressed.

  • direct tv ahah nice

  • i got some advice for oden, dont get injured!

  • ... and deceased career wise

  • @illmaticplaya612 fuck you bitch oden's getting back into shape just wait for next year hes gonna dominate the paint.

  • @stupidretard10

"just wait for next year" how many times have you had to say that about greg oden since draft day?

  • @illmaticplaya612 Yeah but this time its legit I saw him recently hes getting back into his ohio state shape

  • @illmaticplaya612 ur WRONG. just wait...just wait until...next lifetime..yeah, that's it....wait till next lifetime...ODen will be a BEAST. wait until NBA 2012 comes out on xbox....u will see....

  • they could've had KD.. that must HURT.. reminds me of the sam bowie over MJ call.. ''d'oh''

  • Oden should opt out of his contract.

  • direct tv? lol

  • Definitely better than Bynum.

  • @CourtsideBanter

    haha ok

  • @CourtsideBanter Odens better then bynum?

  • @CourtsideBanter

Care to revise your statement? Oden is done for the year and likely beyond that for a while too.

  • I already would be glad of he would make a season. Hang in there young fella!

  • I love Chuck! LOL! Jackasses!

  • mr barkley one of the few tv personalities with some sense

  • lol, asking people if they are stupid, everyones a bust, especially getting paid how much they do.

  • Greg Oden looks older than Charles Barkley.

  • lools Ernie didn't expect that "NO" from Charles. =P

  • I really think it has something to do with being a center and being the top pick for the Blazers-----Bill Walton, Sam Bowie, and now Oden. Maybe the Blazers should stick with the Clyde Drexlers in the draft from now on-----that worked out a heck a lot of better for them.

  • Greg Oden looks 4x his age. He needs to step it up next season. Same goes for Blake Griffin. Both were draft busts!!!

  • @Lach1234 how can u say griffin was a bust after one injury? you are stupid

  • @BoomerSoonerAllDay Um, same thing happened to Oden and he's already gotten injured TWICE. Are YOU stupid?

  • @Lach1234 griffin got seriously injured once. Oden never can stay on the floor. It is too early to call Blake Griffin a bust. you sir, are the stupid one.

  • @BoomerSoonerAllDay Until he can prove that he can stay healthy, he is still useless. So shut up.

  • @Lach1234 so u admit he isnt a bust yet. its okay to think he is gonna be a bust but you cant say that after one injury.

  • @BoomerSoonerAllDay Well yeah. I really want to see him healthy because I know he'll probably be a 20pts/10rebs kind of guy someday.

  • That's cool that Sir Charles gave him some sound advice. I hope he was listening. He definitely just needs time to develop.

  • Greg Oden is the Sam Bowie of the new millenium

  • i really hope he can get healthy...the nba needs him..outside of dwight howard and kendrick perkins and andrew bynum, oden is the next close thing to true centers....i consider stuadimire, bosh, duncan and noah power fowards......but oden like barkley said stay healthy dunk, low post hook shots, block shots, rebound and play defense and try to patter your game after mutumbo.....i worry bout bynum and oden and whether or not there knees will hold up..

  • @reile567 brook.

  • man Oden, everytime we see a glimpse of potential your damn knock knees screw it up. I had you on my fantasy team too.... oh well at least Camby can save us..

  • Barkley is the same person who referred to Michael Jordan as one of his favorite 5 all-time Trail Blazers as a slap at Sam Bowie. He, like Bowie, was a professional ball player and should understand more than anybody else staying healthy is a blessing. Yet he dissed a fellow NBA colleague. Some callers and bloggers are jackasses. However, Barkley sometimes acts like a jackass.

  • Yeah, seriously. I don't know why he's being understanding towards Greg's situation here when just a few months prior to this he took that jab at Bowie.

  • I agreed with Charles some of the internet bloggers and talk radio callers are losers.

  • they say greg oden might be back before the end of the season :3 hes already in re hab

  • It´s one of the best comments i´ve ever heard by charles... and i tell you what... hes fucking right

  • wow what a tragedy , dude is out for the season, on a freak injury, I dint even see contact.....looks like its just not meant to be for him

  • just found out he's out for the season, again. sorry for oden & blazers fans. i hope he eventually gets healthy

  • Oh my goodness I've always thought of Chuck just being such an idiot when he's on TV, but he really did make a great point. That must be the best thing he's ever said, and what a great advise and a little memo to Oden.

  • actually a lot of what chuck says isnt eloquent but the message is a lot more to the point and better than what the other commentators are saying

  • Are you serious? Charles has got to be one of the worst sports analyst ever. he can't answer straight forward questions, and when he makes an attempt to try and answer any questions, he's at a lost for words and on top of everything he swears which is very unprofessional since he's on live television working for major network like TNT. The network needs to do him a favor and just fire him because he makes himself look so stupid on TV.

  • @largec Okay well it's true that he's unprofessional most of the time and no I'm not disagreeing with you, but when it comes to this specific advice he gave to Oden in this video, he's spot on. Tell me, please, what was it that you didn't like about Charles in his message towards Oden other than him saying "jack asses"? Why don't you go back and reread my comment I made a year ago? Never praised Charles in the big picture. And people like seeing Charles being stupid - it's why TNT still has him.

  • I wasn't knocking your comment, I was just letting you know in general how silly Charles sounds when he tries to give his analysis on games or players. If he wasn't Charles Barkley and just an average joe trust me TNT would've gave him the pink slip a long time ago.

  • @tmonkeypunch Your a dumbass if you think Chuck is an idiot, hes 100% REAL all the time.

  • @OMGWTFShizznat He aint an idiot, he just talks to much sometimes

  • @Julian24151 I never said he was

  • Oden is really improving. He will finish the year averaging a double-double.

  • @hitithardfromtheback hes hurt now

  • @hitithardfromtheback ODen is a bust. Drafted at number 1. and you get this from him. He is a bust.

  • @hitithardfromtheback He is a bust man. Kevin Durant for a guy that never plays a full season. This is bigger bust than Kwame Brown at least he scored one 40 point game. Greg Oden has a body of a 60 year old

  • @hitithardfromtheback yeah i was about to say that better been 6 mos ago

  • @hitithardfromtheback so much for that prediction

  • @hitithardfromtheback

15 ppl including u just failed!!!!!! he is too overrated!!!!!!!

  • @hitithardfromtheback The Blazers announced Wednesday night that Greg Oden(notes), who has yet to play in a game this season, will undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee this Friday and miss the rest of the season. In case you forgot, Oden also missed his entire rookie season due to microfracture surgery, although that was on his right knee.

This is the third time Oden has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

  • @83ChevyImpala: My question is. When did Oden even play to get hurt this time??

  • @hitithardfromtheback if he can even go on the court......

  • @hitithardfromtheback whenever he dont average a season ending injury he might.

  • @hitithardfromtheback You are obviously NOT a psychic..

  • @hitithardfromtheback its sad, hes a great player with so much potential, but i think he sould actually stay out maybe a season to get stronger and more durable because he is still young

  • @upyours537 he did stay out. this last season he had a knee surgery on his oppisite knee. the team made him do it so he wouldnt mess his knee up and hes been working on lower bodey stregnth

  • @hitithardfromtheback about that................

  • Embarrassment to us Houston fans for that moronic statement.

  • greg is a beast!! he is cordnating himself better in the paint now(far from polished) just look at D-HO

he is hella unpolished on offense. if greg was drafted by the SPURS popavich would kick his As*

into being a all-star, and one of the most dominant centers in the league, portland babys him too much i know im from portland!!

  • This is definitely Oden's year to show what he's really got. We'll see...

  • i cant wait till oden comes out and plays well and puts all you intenet kids too shame

  • he was beter in h.s.

  • Howard does a lot more than Oden will ever do dipshit

  • he needs to rebound, block shots, and get easy put backs. thats all howard does

  • i am a portland or bust fan and i think at least 2-3 full seasons need to be played before any bust can be thrown out at the kid

  • that's right

  • Good advice Barkley, way to go bud! Good Game!

  • imagine if they had gotten Durant, Durant will be as good as Kobe/Lebron...Oden will be Eric Dampier

  • more like Eddie Curry 2.0

  • Is that good or bad? Also, it's Eddy Curry with a "y".

  • bust 100%

  • I'd listen to Barkley on this one. Even Bowie would be saying the same thing to Greg.

  • hes not going to be a bust 2nd fucking season hes gonna be really good n thats coming from a LAKERS FAN

  • He actually played pretty good his "rookie" season. He almost averaged a double-double in the regular season. He rebounds well, a decent shot blocker and is working on his low post game, as well as his offensive game.

  • Having Roy, Aldridge and that young core of players, the only thing they should wait is for them to develop. Oden the first of them.

Oden is probably not going to be a bust, but he's neither be a dominant player, only in the defensive end, in which i think he's got better tools than howard (n again i'm not saying he'll be like him at all).

One of the not-so-stupid comments from Barkley, from whoms only reminiscense of bbal days is its name: BARK-ling

  • Bust !!!!!!

  • @lakershd Nah, they're talkin Oden here...not Bynum. But you're right. Bynum is a total bust. Oden OWNS him.

  • @unirrational nigga you is fuck stupid and needsta shut da fuck up.

    oden is a bust.

  • @COMPTON837 he's a beast when he is healthy. he's nowhere close to being a bust. if he'd have been healthy for the whole of his career, then he probaby would have been an all star by now...

  • @COMPTON837 Oh, that will help your cause. Thanks for making my point. The only ones who think Oden was a bust are the complete idiots such as yourself who have yet to learn how to speak in complete sentences.

  • @unirrational and take yo school shit to a motherfucker who cares.

  • @COMPTON837 Funny...the more you speak, the bigger fool you make out of yourself. Keep it up...it's hard to find entertainment as idiotic as you are....and I don't even have to pay for it. C'mon...say something you moron.

  • @COMPTON837 Great. Have fun living off of your welfare checks and food stamps loser.

  • @unirrational shut the fuck up fagit i work harder den you.

  • @unirrational .....are u kidding me? I understand Oden not being a bust but you can't honestly believe he can beat Bynum? Bynum though having injuries too still manages to contribute to the Lakers, when he plays it makes a big difference having him and Gasol on the post. But Oden? even on trailblazers hasn't done anything, and let's face it, he pretty much won't do anymore than he does now

  • @ronaldoomessi710 Oden is a far, far better defensive center than Bynum, and although his numbers weren't as high as Bynum's, his numbers per minute played are superior as well...and he has less time in the NBA.

  • you can't really call him a bust yet he's only 20 man, plenty of time to become somethin

  • I didn't think i'd say this but...Learn from Barkley...

  • internet jackass: hes right GO is only 19/20

  • You guys are idiots.. you think someone can come off injuries and just dominate the NBA... he needs time! I live in LA and ive see Bynum when he started and he looked just like Oden does now offensively and he didnt rebound as well as Oden does... Plus he's been just as injured! Oden needs time, Kareeem, Hakeem, Or Patrick and a ring measurement soon..

  • sound isnt in sync horrible vid man

  • The critics and you YT fan boys feel dumb as shyt now. Greg Oden may not be the go-to guy on the Blazers, but he is a key player off the bench for a playoff team. The guy is trying to stay healthy and contribute (which he is) and you can tell he has been working hard on his game to prove himself. You expect him to return from knee surgery and a year of not playing and dominate? How would that make the NBA look? Who ever compared Darko to Oden is a dumbass. Oden is a TEAM player.

  • 19 Basketball wise... but 40 Body wise

  • @ldc62

true. but i think Oden will turn out a lot more like Bill Walton (was in All Star games and won an MVP) then Sam Bowie. Walton was injury riddled his first few seasons and then turned out to be a beast when he was healthy. Thats how Oden is gonna be. Sam Bowie was never good in the NBA even when he was completely healthy.

  • @ldc62 57 Face wise and 76 knees wise.

  • I don't think ppl need to knock on him like U said, Oden was limited because of those injuries he sustained. He will be ok, just not an offensive force which he doesn't need to be, they have Roy and Aldridge for that. If he can have that same defensive intensity like Rodman, B-Wallace and Mourning, he will be a HUGE FORCE in the middle for any big man, PERIOD!

  • OLDen is a bust. Period.

  • this is his rookie season? he didnt get to play last year

  • Oden will never be a great offensive player, but Portland does not need that. They have enough offensive weapons on their team. All they need from Oden, if they want to become an elite team, is to shut down the lane.

  • The problem is that Greg Oden wasn't a dominant player in college. You're seeing essentially the same player Oden was in college -- foul prone, injury prone and brittle, no defined offensive game, largely unenthusiastic. The only real flashes you see from Oden is when he dunks, and then he displays some sense of interest and athleticism.

  • i hate it when faggots like you act like basketball experts

  • Then you really hate it when your mother told you the truth about the paternity test -- SON.

  • He's right though. Oden unfortunatly will NEVER, EVER be a dominant offensive player, all he can do is develop a decent offensive game. Like Barkley said, he needs to be patient, he is still very young, and he is also in a great situation playing for a team of the future like the blazers. His main focus should be defense. There is no shame in having a dominant defensive game which I believe Oden will be accustomed to anyways.

  • well if he stays in portland he wont have to be a dominant offensive player. he has plenty of offense around him. all he has to do is get them about 12 points a game and be a beast defensively and rebound the ball and heel be fine

  • That's funny. I thought Greg was averaging 9 points and 7 rebounds and 1 block in like 20 minutes. I thought he was shooting 57% from the field. I thought he just had 13 points(5 of 7), 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 25 minutes in his last game. You must be thinking of another Greg Oden.

  • why are we still talking about greg ody? a dude that is 7 foot 275 pounds who struggles just to average 3 points, 2 rebounds, no blocks and gets 5 fouls in 10 minutes. I would take Drako Milipede over fucken greg odor anyday of the week.

  • hey man, knowen for center to develope slowly in the nba, oden had some monster games, give the allstar his time

  • you dont know what ur talking about. Oden averages 8 points and 7 rebounds and leads the blazers in double doubles. When he isnt in foul trouble or injured he plays good.

  • he has more double doubles than roy? where was i all season

  • 8ppg and 7rpg for a 1st draft pick... thats sucks.... Michael Olowokandi can do better during his first year and yet his suffering from injury also.

  • I remember Kobe & Garnett not doing so good their rookie years in the late 90s either. and they werent injured for a year before their real rookie years like Oden. Oden also missed quite a bit of his only year in college because of injury. Oden has to contend with playing at a completely different level of basketball and getting back into game shape after missing a year.

  • I know in high school I tore my ACL playing basketball my junior year, missed most of that year, and was not nearly as good my senior year as i was before the injury (even though I worked my ass off to get back into shape and felt good again). Give Oden time. If hes not playing where he should be in a few years, then call him the next Sam Bowie.

  • are you for real? the guy has played a hand full of games and puts up those numbers with less than 20 minutes per game. then we get dipshits like you who have probably never watched a blazer game commenting on stats you know nothing about

  • imagine how good the blazers would be if oden wasn't garbage, i mean blazer fans labeled this guy the second coming of JESUS before he played an NBA game... But i dont blame them for drafting, the fans put to much pressure on the front office

  • wow your are an idiot. oden was going to be the #1 pick no matter who got it. and why would they draft durrant when they have no need for another small forward? all the dipshits that expect a 20 yr old kid to come into the nba at center and dominate need to get a clue. its great how scrubs like this look at rookie guard numbers on some crap team and try to compare them to a rookie center on a team with the depth portland has.

  • Its the blazer fans who thought ODEN was gonna dominate!!! Now that he's garbage they all change their stance and say its gonna take some time. HYPOCRITE

  • never thought he was gona dominate... he has been somewhat of a dissapointment.. but there is not to many young centers that just pop in to the nba and dominate the best in the world...

  • charles barkly wtf happend man u use to be so cool now ur kinda an asshole

  • its just an advice dude. Coz most NBA fans say Greg Oden is the next big man of the future. But hell his game is not even a top 10 draftee. Charles played with some of the best big man in the league. and yet he shown no fear even at the height of 6'4. That advice is cool. greg want to be the best then he must deserve much more advices. Coz he really needs it

  • This same advice should apply to the Euroleague players of the NBA. Just because dominated in Europe doesn't mean shit in the NBA.

And if you think i'm wrong Darko says hi

  • What the fuck is this man talking about?

  • I'm with Sir Charles. :]

  • the words look like they come out before his lips move?

  • he can't golf right why listen

  • Barkley knows what he talks about it would be cocky for a high school player to think they can come out and dominate. Lebron played a good four years before he did. Micheal played a good 3 years in NC and then 1 year before he did. Kobe was on the bench .

  • Good points

  • barkley is a jackass himself.... but at least he speaks his mind. he couldn't make anymore sense in this one

  • I agree with barkley!

  • Dude, why did you cut it off at the end? Let him finish his point. Can you re-post Charles whole point.

  • Sorry, that's all I got. It sounded like he was finished so I stopped it. He didn't say too much more anyway.
