My top 4 are Anita Mui, Faye Wong, Sandy Lam, and Sally Yip (in that order). Even though I place Sandy Lam at 3, I prefer her version of this song over Faye's. She gives it the emotion the song needs. Of course Faye's is amazing too, and I doubt Sandy Lam could do any of Faye's other songs as well as Faye does it (I'm Willing, for example). And yea these 4 singers are better than any of the new ones ever.

I don't know what the hell people here are really talking about. Sandy is more hardworking than Faye Wong? Sandy sings this song better than Faye Wong?? Hey, I understand you guys are Sandy's diehard fans, but don't be so naive and blind when talking about music. Faye Wong is of course gifted with her voice, but her persistent pursuit of creativity and unqiueness totally changed the HK music world. Faye is second to none in her contribution to musics in Chinese communities.

@forfunonlu I totally agree with you! And yet some people are still complaining about Faye's attitude and saying she is not committed to her performance. They are just too superficial to appreciate Faye's performance. Faye is a real artist, who is too pure to focus on anthing else other than music. Those that are saying she is 随便唱，黑面 is just looking at one's face instead of listening to music.

I'm a Faye fan but I like this version more - more mature. But that's not unexpected when I think about when Faye first sang this - pretty early in her career... compared to Sandy singing this say only a couple of years ago?  I'm sure if Faye sang it now, it'd be different, but I have a feeling that Faye probably thinks she is over this type of 'pop' song now, which is a pity in my view.

I don't remember exactly when Sally starts to do preformance on singing (I think when I was 12), but one thing I can be sure of~~That time, there were no Wong Fay such person on stage. And few years after, Ah-fay sang couple of years in HK (of course not so good on her career), then she left HK to somewhere upgraded herself on singing skills then came back. But xoxiyy you were right, they both have talent.

I think that Faye's 转音 is much slower than Sandy and in fact where I think Sandy can deliver a song flawlessly in falsetto, Faye won't be able to do so. Also, Faye's falsetto is very thin and frail whereas Sandy's falsetto is very rich,steady, seasoned and powerful.

Great point on Sandy's work ethics and her being "十分努力". In fact, many producers and artists made the same remark — Sandy was far from a Diva when she first began her music career but her improvements were evident and conspicuous.

As for the FayeSandy comparison, I got my vote for Faye. Whenever I hear Faye sings, I'm completely engrossed and my soul is captured by her voice, in entirety.

@pussiestroker to be honest, they're both very good singers. i love both their voices. but sandy's work ethics to me is by far more admirable. faye is gifted but never seems to work hard yet for sandy she's gifted too but she never ceases to improve herself. that's why she is my favourite.

I totally dont agree with you, I think the melody of the song is kinda R&B style n it suits Sandy as Sandy's voice for R&B songs is very impressive than Faye! and this version arrangement is similar to Jazz and Antony Lun's a partner with Sandy Lam, so I think Sandy has a better performance than Faye but overall, Sandy and Faye are good singers!

It's interesting to see this performance. In fact, Faye was pushed by her company to imitate Sandy in the early stage of her career. Faye later developed her own unique style, but I bet she probably has learned quite a bit (especially the voice control) from Sandy. Nice to see Sandy still has it.
