  • Wow I forgot how good this song was, that was breathtaking!

  • I still can't believe how many of you think that Jerry Lawson shouldn't have been included because he has recorded albums. Nobody has ever heard of Jerry Lawson for 40 years!

(except Persuasions fans) The industry would never allow A Cappella on the radio. He alone is responsible for keeping the art of A Cappella alive so that there could one day be an

A Cappella show on a major network during prime time. The man never made a cent on 22 albums that never got heard.

  • To those of you saying SCS was more consistent than Committed? Really? The only performance Committed had negative remarks on was the rock piece. SCS had more performances that were nit-picked by the judges and they definitely had intonation issues. Yes, I agree Jerry should have been second...to Committed.

  • Listening to them at times was like sitting in church on a Sunday morning, I loved listening to them! And, this right here was one of my favorite performance on the show, loved that sanctimonious harmony and vocal musicianship they had going on here:)

  • I have never heard of these guys before, but this was awesome. Bravo!!!

  • goosbumps :D

  • Thumbs up for base!

  • Agree to all comments here, this could be the best performance of the season!

  • I think Jerry Lawson and the Talk of the Town should have gotten at least 2nd place. Committed definitely shouldn't have won, at best they should have gotten third. Jerry and Street Corner Symphony were much better than them. Also for anyone saying Jerry shouldn't have been in it cause he had cds before, then you must not have seen the first season of Sing Offs where Beelzebubs got 2nd and they have had 29 cds out, 3 more than Jerry.

  • @Haeinscute I totally agree. I think Committed was a little overrated, probably with the help of Shawn praising them all the time. I think SCS deserved to win because of their execution and the blend they made was so beautiful. I think Jerry should have been 2nd. SCS and Jerry were consistent, Committed wasn't. Next season I hope is even better and that's almost impossible compared to how good the 2nd season was, but it is possible.

  • There's always disagreement over whether or not Jerry Lawson should have been eliminated. I do think that the judges were showing favoritism in the beginning, and I do think that had Jerry continued to give standard performances, he would have been eliminated. However, he didn't. He stepped up his game. Should Jerry Lawson have been eliminated? Not on this round. The judges were right in keeping him. This performance and Satisfaction are in my top 10 performances of the season.

  • Gave me shivers

  • Absolutely beautiful! They added a new dimension to this song. Stunning! I LOVE these guys.

  • Absolutely beautiful! The made this song better. Stunning!

  • I was a big fan of Street Corner Symphony, but this rendition of the House of the Rising Sun might have been the best performance of the season. Spectacular!

  • amazing!

  • Horrible. I absolutely love this song. Just not a fan.

  • @ajones1680 well .... u suck

  • I was wondering "why are they still in this competition" this song let me know...this is the reason!!!!! they are amazing!!!!!!

  • I told my brother if he caught "Amazing Grace." He had to rewind and then he nearly shat himself when he heard it.

  • what kind of music is this? any suggestions of songs like this>

  • @A7XRIPREV122809 This is a gospel. The animals version was more of a rock song.

  • @danimal632 This is how the song should be sung, its much better than The Animal's rock version in my opinion.

  • Jerry is the man and they did an amazing job singing. They have every right to be on the show and every right to win. They're my top choice with street corner second.

  • Every group this season has been fabulous...but Jerry Lawson's version of House of The Rising Sun is better than the original...it was one of my favorite songs when it first came out. Good going guys!

  • jerry was famous but what about the talk of the town they have been singing together for over 30+ yrs and they dont have many more times for a shot. One of the members just had a spat with cancer and was laying up in the hospitol when got the call to do the show, with stiches and staples in in stomach he went to LA to do the show... Everyone has a story

  • @cuyboya3000 dont put jerry in it. if it were just the talk of the town i would enjoy them much more.

  • This was definitely the best song of the night i can't stop listening to it

  • Committed is my favorite group, that being said THIS performance was the performance of the night if not the season. Powerful, mind-blowing indeed.

  • @phiblue29 my sentiments exactly. I agree 100%.

  • I used to love this song, but they killed it. I think they are good but he was already famouse and it's not fair for him to be paired up with rookies. It's like if lady gaga quits singing and a few years later auditions for america's got talent and wins. It's just not fair. He should have gotten out instead of OTR the show is gonna be boring now. I am rooting for commited.

  • @karinan3rd But how would they have convincingly kicked them out when all of their performances have been spot on?

  • @shortboy jerry shouldn't be in it. If it were just the other guys it would be fine

  • @karinan3rd well you can easily say the same for the two girls in backbeats who competed last season and the lead in street corner who had a contract but never got his stuff released but no one's saying anything.

  • @shortboy jerry has been payed for performing, the 2 girls and jeremy have not. the record company ditched him before he ever got payed. People knew jerry's name before the show. noone knew any one else's

  • Absolutely incredible... How will they ever top this season?

  • Backing it with "Amazing Grace" was out of control. I noticed it during the first listen, but I didn't realize quite how early it kicked in until the third time. I genuinely got chills all three times I listened to it from my DVR. Mind truly = blown.

  • oh wow. i only just now noticed they start singing "Amazing Grace" in counterpoint at 0:53. MIND = BLOWN. adds a different dimension to the song while staying thematically consistent. this is honestly one of the most powerful musical performances i've ever seen (on TV), and it just gets better with every replay. incredible.

  • I hadn't notice that they laced in "Amazing Grace" until I listened again. class personified.

  • Oh God this song was just so amazing! Jerry Lawson & Talk of the town are always so amazing to listen to! This performance blew me away!!

  • Sean is astonished at how they could turn this song into gospel? How can he not know the origin of the song? It's more than a hundred years old!

  • @topdeck55 That's exactly how I reacted too!

  • These men were absolutely amazing.

  • Oh yes!

  • Awesome!
