IMO all pols pander and tell half-truths during campaigns. All we can do is have a general idea of the "direction" the pol will take us in. And the only way to do this is to look at the pol's history and voting record.

McCain has a lengthy history; it's easy to look at his record to determine what he REALLY values. He's a cost cutter, and aggressive on foreign policy. He's not much of a tax cutter, and very tepid on social issues.

The problem is OBama. He's so new he has no voting record.

My father has always taught me that you can never pay attention to campaign ads - because politicians are prone to act like two years olds, basically, through their ads.

It SHOULD be about policies.. but the ads rarely are.

Yes, I do. Because of the specific taxes he's proposing to increase. He's going to increase stock investment tax. When any other country has done this, people take their money offshore and invest in other countries because they KNOW they'll make more investing there.

So what happens? Businesses lose money. They layoff workers, and they raise product prices.

A similar event happened when FDR was president.. and it didn't get resolved until way after the Great Depression.

Who said McCain was going to cut taxes? Even McCain didn't. All he's said is that he's going to make Bush's tax cuts permanent. And BY THE WAY if you compare the numbers from Bush's tax cuts on the middle class to the numbers with Obama's tax cuts on the middle class - THE MIDDLE CLASS LOSES $600.

The TPC has compared their tax plans. McCain's will cut taxes - but not significantly. For the most part, people will pay what they pay now.
