You need a good editing system, or to mak 3D pictures, use Microsoft Paint and copy/paste the picture, then copy it again and put it right beside the other one

There is actually many things a true 3D video has to be before it is uploaded to the tube..

Shot with 2 cameras, at precise settings and the split screens have to be set up in the correct order.

It's actually a lot of work to pull off and there is literally days of research to do if your serious.

I have a feeling you have to upload a split screen video to pull this stunt..

By reading the youtube blog and looking at many NEW example videos I believe just adding the tags does not work on older videos..I can't see you example as your subscriber video has the tags removed..

So what's going on..?

Yeah, that's normal. If you want it to be 16:9, you have to add this to the tags.
